    This song is not only about war in the Ukraine, because in our history we had so many experiences like this, especially in the XX century. And also when we watched the scenes from Ukraine, especially in the first part of the war in Ukraine, it was like watching scenes from our past, especially in the II World War times, when the Russian Red Army invaded Poland (together with Germans at the other side), and they did then exactly the same. They were like savages, not humans, mass killing, burning, destroying, stealing everything (even toilets), raping everything that moves (even children or old women), committing horrible genocide acts, torturing people, and lying all the time about this, and so on. It's exactly the same, like nothing has changed for 80 years. The same pictures, the same scenes. For instance, mass graves of the murdered in Ukrainian Bucha or Izium - it's like watching scenes of Polish innocent victims murdered in the past by Russians being exhumated from the mass graves, from Katyń and so many other places were mass graves of Poles have been found. And the ruins of the destroyed towns - it's like watching Warsaw when it was completely in ruins. So many countries have completely no idea what Russia really is and always was, they have the idea only from some Hollywood movies. But we know Russia very well, what they really are and what they bring with themselves.

    The song is a motif of a song by Stanisław Moniuszko, not about the Ukrainian war.

  • @MayaTheDecemberGirl

    @MayaTheDecemberGirl

    7 ай бұрын

    @@samoht.p Stanisław Moniuszko was a composer. So he was the autor of this music, but not the lyrics. Of course, the lyrics to the original, old, XIXth century song titled "Prząśniczka" ("The Spinner") was completely different. Here is a completely new lyrics, to the old melody, and also in new arrangement and performance. So this is really not the old song. This new one is generally about war and violence. But it happened that it was realesed just before the attack of Russia on the Ukraine in March 2022. And the singers donated the earned money fir help to Ukrainian children suffering from the war. So that's why this song is connotated with the current war in the Ukraine.

    Yes this song is about war but not in Ukraine. I agree with you that Poland experienced tragic things in our history but you forgot that from the east we experienced that not only from Russia but, who knows maybe even worse things, from Ukrainians and not just in the II World War but throughout centuries! They were true beasts!

    Here is a better translation: Mommy you've been crying Your eyes wide opened Did someone hurt you again? They struck a blow People of steel They look into your eyes When you say ''Enough'' Embrace me, embrace me My bright eyes Are waiting for me to fall asleep Cry out, cry out Cry out to heaven We need a miracle Take what you want What, what, what you want Take everything Take, take and be gone And this stress All this stress Take it I'm sick of tears Mommy you've been crying Your eyes wide opened Did someone hurt you again? They struck a blow People of steel They look into your eyes When you say ''Enough'' How will I protect you and on which side Should I stand today with hundred hostile eyes watching My scream is not enough Take me Mommy Somewhere far away Far away from here I miss, I miss The years When everyone was hinting Today, today I want to scream from far away But my voice doesn't work Take what you want What, what, what you want Take everything Take, take and be gone And this stress All this stress Take it I'm sick of tears Mommy you've been crying Your eyes wide opened Did someone hurt you again? They struck a blow People of steel They look into your eyes When you say ''Enough'' How will I protect you and on which side Should I stand today with hundred hostile eyes watching My scream is not enough Take me mom Somewhere far away Far away from here lyricstranslate.com

    It's not just about Polish and English. Every language has its own interesting features or words. Also art is difficult to translate no matter which language you choose. In my opinion, the good peace of art uses the most interesting elements of language in which it was created so that's why it can be challenging to convey the same meaning in other languageIt's not just about Polish and English.

She has also a lot of songs based on the poems of most famous Polish poets, like Juliusz Słowacki, Julian Tuwim, Krzysztof Kamil Baczyński, Adam Mickiewicz or Wisława Szymborska. I like for instance her song, "Nothing twice" ("Nic dwa razy"), based on a poem of Wisława Szymborska (who was a Noblist).

    W ostatnich dniach toczył się w Krakowie proces grupy szpiegów amerykańskich powiązanych z krakowską Kurią Metropolitarną. My zebrani w dniu 8 lutego 1953 r. członkowie krakowskiego Oddziału Związku Literatów Polskich wyrażamy bezwzględne potępienie dla zdrajców Ojczyzny (wytłuszczenie - S. K.), którzy wykorzystując swe duchowe stanowiska i wpływ na część młodzieży skupionej w KSM działali wrogo wobec narodu i państwa ludowego, uprawiali - za amerykańskie pieniądze - szpiegostwo i dywersję. Potępiamy tych dostojników z wyższej hierarchii kościelnej, którzy sprzyjali knowaniom antypolskim i okazywali zdrajcom pomoc, oraz niszczyli cenne zabytki kulturalne. Wobec tych faktów zobowiązujemy się w twórczości swojej jeszcze bardziej bojowo i wnikliwiej niż dotychczas podejmować aktualne problemy walki o socjalizm i ostrzej piętnować wrogów narodu - dla dobra Polski silnej i sprawiedliwej.

    Of course, inhumane, horrible things that Ukrainians did to Polish civilians, their ordinary neigbours living in the same villages since many decades, during the II World War, between 1943 - 1945, especially between July and August 1943 (the Massacre of Poles in Volhynia and Eastern Galicia) - are just hard to imagine that a human being could do such things to other people. It's impossible even to read the testimonies of the witnesses that survived the massacres, it is so horrible, like about this so- called Volhynian Bloody Sunday (11th July 1943). They murdered about 100 000 Polish people. However, nowadays they are victims, attacked and invaded by Russia and cruelly killed.

    @@MayaTheDecemberGirl Before Fenruary 2022 Kievians were invading republics souvereign due European customs confirmed by International Justice Tribunal's ruling from 2009 (Kosovo case). Now Russia invaded Ukraine like she did in 1945 to Germany. Russia's 2022 response to the 8-year long genocide is 100% justified, since I know too many girls who fled to Kraków from Gorłowka(Horlivka) and Ługańsk(Lughansk) in 2014-2017 to shelter from Kievian airstrikes and artillery, fearing the May 2014 Odessa Massacre will repeat when Ukraine would conquer their people of Ługańsk.

    This song is not about the war in Ukraine. It was written and published before the war broke out. It referred to the experiences of Poles and other people who were attacked by barbarian invaders. However, in fact, shortly after the release of the album, the war broke out in Ukraine and the song became extremely relevant, especially when information began to reach that the Russians were bombing peaceful cities and murdering and otherwise harming civilians in the occupied territories.

    Good choice of song to react to, this song is overwhelming. Unfortunately, you picked a wrong video without proper translation. Someone below has already added better translation in his comment , but you could also find on YT a video with correct subtitles in English too.

    Hi Mert. There is one more song, a little older one, that is important in polish history. It's the cooperation of the greatest polish artists at that time and was helping to raise money for huge flood victims in 1997. It's called "Moja i twoja nadzieja" (Mine and yours hope). Here is a link with English subtitles: kzread.info/dash/bejne/eYxkj6qJk83Vj8Y.html

    To utwór, który powstał dużo wcześniej tylko został wykorzystany do aktualnych wydarzeń. Ma wpływać na emocje tzw. " opinii publicznej". Współczuję wszystkim ludziom, którzy cierpią przez walkę samozwańczych elit o jeszcze większą władzę. Bo robią to kosztem naszego życia. Bo właśnie po to powstają te wojenki. Normalny człowiek chce żyć spokojnie i dbać o rodzinę.

    Petition Nr. 8 : I will continue to add this comment under every video on this channel until success or...😬 WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO MAKE A VIDEO ABOUT POLONEZ? This is my another attempt to persuade you to make a reaction to a video with polonez. I suggest the street performance in Vilnius , video titled "Polonez na placu Katedralnym w Wilnie " It's AMAZING😁 It was performed on September 17, 2023. Poles living in Lithuania danced the Polonaise. There were 192 couples in national and historical costumes. It was a demonstration of the unity and strength of the Polish spirit on the anniversary of the Soviet attack on Poland. If anyone know how to reach Mert please let me know, I have no other idea how to persuade him to do this - maybe there is any e-mail address to post this request? POMOCY!

    Hi, I just would like to explain the quote "ludzie ze stali" stal in polish means steel-true, but STALin was actually the one who took Poland with Hitler... Therefore it is not about tanks etc. only abut Russia itself... Then you have "whom to trust". It is obvious the song writer was showing- despite, the Russian army was "liberating" Poland- it was one big fake...
