Yes it's a satire BUT this is a real subculture in Finland, especially in more rural areas and this culture peaked around the 90's. The premise of the culture is basically modestly educated working class young men who build their identity around tuning and driving cheap cars. Pilluralli is a concept where these people drive their cars on nearest towns to show of their vehicles and have high hopes of attracting admiration from the fairer sex, hence the name "pilluralli/pussyrally".

Thanks, this was fun watch. It's satire, but for someone who grew up in the countryside there's a lot of real things. I don't think too much has changed, even. I got my license in 1989 but I bet it's still the same today in small towns and rural Finland. Getting a car meant freedom, and we spent years driving around every evening and weekend nights. Didn't matter who drove, it was all about spending time with your mates in the car and meeting others. It must be easier now with mobile phones when you can just ask where your friends are. Back then we had to drive around all night just to find someone. In many ways, it was the best time of my life.

Pilluralli in the 80’s and 90’s was popular in every town, Friday Night there was queues of cars driving around in loops around the town center, slowly cruising around, music playing loud and there may have been some alcohol involved too. Those were the times. 😅

Got my licence in 2013, lived in a small town with like 5,000 people and cruising and driving from place to place was definitely popular past time activity amongst youngsters. Either with a car or moped/motorcycle

Yeah, this is very realistic satire about vocational school students who just got their first car and license, and drive around in a circle at a local supermarket's parking lot or city centers, trying to attract the attention of young girls (around their age, not illegally young) who are into cars and guys with access to cars and booze It is quite sad, but also quite funny

Everyone in Finland has seen this. Just this year he released a sequel, like 10 years after or so. His "pro" documentaries or mockumentaries are making fun of some of the trends in the youth. With pretty insightful details that truly catch the comedic bits on the trends. Or maybe they should be called counter-culture? Like taper pro, apple thief pro, yoyo pro and so many others. The retro gamer pro or whatever it was called is hilarious because I recognize so many tropes from people I know who are adults and are enthusiastic about video games. "Tikkurila's bus stop" what he actually said was "Tikkurila's meat counter". I might've missed it but the classic scene in this mockumentary is "get a girlfriend!!!" from window to some kid. That's what people started using.

The first one is legendary for sure. And now just in 10 years after the first one they released part two. Don't know if it has subs but it really expands the story.

The only stand up show (Kaikki kuolee - Everybody dies) I've watched in full was by this guy. Hilarious dude.

I love your reaction to this video, you really got it right imo ❤😂 I actually thought this was real the first time I ever saw it cause it was so accurate and insightful, but since I learned that it was a comedian acting it still hasn’t diminished its appeal. I liked it too. Unique and fun but not at the expense of others.

It's true what you said, that this parody contained humor, philosophy and great interaction. But in addition to those, this is also a tragedy. The man is already 28 years old and doing things that are normally done at the age of 18-19. See how the real young people in the parking lot looked at this parody man.

The original version had Phil Collins - In The Air Tonight music in that driving scene, that gave my chills 😆

"town rally" - that is a very mild way of translating that particular phrase

Joni Koivuniemi is a stand-up comedian and has done several of these sketches on the topic "pro". Pilluralli Pro - Town Rally Pro was watched so much that there were even plans to make a movie about it, where a Fiat Panda was searched for and the main character, i.e. a young man from the suburbs who loves town rally, falls in love with a woman who works at the university.

Kind of related to this type of satire but from a different finnish creator, I recommend "Urheiludokumentti - The Sports Documentary" on the channel "Airola". It's a story/satire of a similarly passionate man, and another classic finnish KZread video for sure :D

Not related to this video, but one really funny comedy character is Kopiovastaava (= Copyist in English) from a TV show called Pulkkinen.
