This wasn't love at first listen but by the second or third I was sold. This shot straight to number 1 for me, pipping Angelina from the top spot. It's Rosalia meets Greek folk and it works very well ... Especially since Greek and Spanish are, to the ear, very similar (I know it's not the same family of languages)! The Greek/Middle Eastern sounds also work really well ...

Marina is very famous in Greece so she will have the best team this year her choreographer for esc will be the choreographer of Rosalia and motomami tour the stage will be modern and global ✌🏻

No, it’s not like ‘too many things at once.’ The song has a single musical base: a syncopated electronic rhythm similar to reggaeton. In different parts of the song, they add some extra sounds like ethnic elements, but it maintains the same melody throughout. Unlike other songs this year that, to avoid being boring, change the rhythm and musicality completely every 30 seconds, for example, joke entries and some of the ‘experimental’ ones.

exactly. so every 30s you get a different thing, 6 parts of a dice. Issue is, I already dont remember any single melody of it as they are just too much. I try to give a realistic view. Thats it

As much as I adored your 12 to Ulveham as a juror the same I hate it that you find Zari a mess (i completely understand not clicking with it instantly) and I have a fear most jurors will have the same approach sadly. Nonetheless I expect Marina to bring a huge show to Malmo and no this is not like Eaea imo...A lot more catchy and memorable.

I was just a spokesperson, I was not a juror at MGP :) But it is so much things together which are hardly coming together, its hard to do it smooth and aproachable like switzerland managed

@@JanBors yeah juries will be suckers for Switzerland this year most probably but I predict it won't click with the public audience in May. That's probably a hot take considering it's now 4th in the betting odds but way too risky and I cannot find something memorable to hook the audience apart from the innovative structure. 🤷

I don't know where you are from but this song can very much be a hit for Southern Europeans and Balkan countries Personally I prefer countries taking Marina's approach instead of the boring radio english song but it's a matter of taste

It's also a sound not so far from the mainstream as some would think. It's very Rosalia-inspired, and Rosalia is huge even across the pond. This adds an extra Greek flavour.

I am from Czechia, so its sound unlike anything familiar in here. But I can imagine it works somewhere else, as local music has this power, same as Czechi's music industry, which basically is only local, almost not that very relevant even in Slovakia. So its for sure a preference thing.

If this video is meant to be a joking about cliché tourism, it achieves the opposite effect, because it makes Athens? look colorful and interesting and makes more people want to visit.

@@JanBors when millions of people are watching, it sure will have an impact. If it wasn't so, no money would be spent to promoting countries through video ads. It makes Athens seem approachable, which is what it actually is to the tourists.

@@JanBors Ministry of tourism must have said, if we never going to win the ESC again (which has become a strictly political driven competition the last couple decades), let's at least increase tourism by 20% this summer by making such a fun videoclip (it's sponsored by the state tv). As if we're not already packed with tourists every year lol. Even If i'm living outside of Athens, I see a tourist group or random tourists every 30 seconds when I'm strolling around the city. Luckily we mostly get the decent kind of tourists, families and such, not the drunken ones, who prefer the craziest of Greek islands. If a video clip of Brittish tourists was shot in a Greek island like Crete or Rhodes in the summer, it would surpass the crazziness of Zari by a 1000% or more

The song is about to troll how foreign people know about Greece. It is meant to be all stuff at once. That's the point of the song which I think you are missing.

@@JanBorsIt’s a song that the more you listen to it, the more it grows on you. But surely it’s not for all the tastes.

It’s not a generic song like so many other entries this year. It has one particular rhythm, but it’s a combination of ethnic vibes and reggaeton, that’s why some people find it a bit confusing. Surely on stage it will sound more compact with a good staging. I think what makes it sound messy to you is perhaps the video which is a bit confusing.

It's a very spesific song. The countries which vibe with it culturally will probably vote the hell out of it. South East coutries that is. North west and maybe central europe will ignore it completely. It's a cultural thing with this song, it's about mentality and way of living. It's not random that most southern people find this genious and a masterpiece and that most western people are seeing a mess and a kitsch in reactions

I had a similar reaction but I thought maybe the song would grow on me after a few listens. It actually got worse. I find parts of it absolutely unlistenable. Unfortunately, Greece are my last place this year and it's a shame because I expected so much more from Marina Satti

You're not the only one... The songs sounds like a random mix of barely related music ideas. I barely finished it once, and not looking forward to hear it again.

I find this song really hard to listen to. It sounds chaotic to my ears.

Will struggle to go to final. I think the song is a mess up.

I can't listen to this mess. Currenty my winner in the competition for the worst song. In a way it's a joke song, the video wanting to be a parody.
