This is the second thing of hers I saw 8 years ago. I was gone after that. A fan for the first time in my life. I have always been a great music lover. It has soothed and exalted me in turns. I was a fan of music not a particular artist. Until Angelina. May I add I had a mother who tortured my hair up and made me wear flowers...not so big or many or as heavy as that. The result was an 8 year old with a sulky miserable expression stomping on stage to present a bouquet. It was sooo heavy and uncomfortable. The pins holding the flowers really painful. Angelina obviously approved of the look for the performance. That must have mattered more than the discomfort otherwise no 8 year old could look that happy or relaxed about it.

Maria, you kept repeating her voice is perfect for this song. It certainly is and when you think about it for a second everything she sings is perfect for her voice. Ah-ha, therein lies the magic. Angelina is all about love and what we are hearing when she sings for us is the product of the soulfulness deep within her and her voice reflects that love so much our hearts cannot resist. You said you believe she understands what she is singing about. Yes, right again but it is important to understand even though the messages of the songs she sings vary and present situations we know are experiences she has never encountered she finds the message of love in the lyrics, the story of the song and she relates to that love so much she draws us into her world and in many instants we understand the story of the song like we never had before. Maria, I know you are reading a lot of the comments and finding out so much about her. That is great because, well let me end my comment by making a very uncomplicated statement: Angelina is very special, so very special and one only has to listen to her sing and then read and find out who she is to understand why one's connection to her is so blissful and overflowing with love.

8 years old- singing in front of thousands, live, outdoors, on TV and doing it like she has done it for decades

One day I didn't know who Angelina was, and the next day I did. She has given me so much joy over the last three and a half years. What a difference a day makes!

As I recall, she did an interview and was asked why she closes her eyes when she sings. I believe she said when she closes her eyes, she goes into a different world.

@@wippletits to be so young starting at least as early as 6 and beginning a path based on love. It drives her, love is powerful. It believes all things, endures all things love never fails. Looking at the respect and love that surrounds her shows what it’s like to reap that fruitage. I need nothing more. It may take some time, even very difficult time to get there but regardless all each one of can do is endure till the last day in love with kindness.

The unique 'vocal chameleon' ability to emulate, quite precisely, the vocals of Billie Holiday when she was 7 and sang 'Gloomy Sunday', are on display again at 8 as she sounds so very much like Dinah Washington's 'Gold Standard' for the song. You shut your eyes and just wonder if it's Dinah you're listening to and it is mind boggling.

Angelina...a blazing talent. This should not be possible, it is like an eight year old doing advanced calculus or some such.

Great reaction Maria. Angelina said during Norway's Got Talent, she goes to a special world when singing. In a interview at age 12, she said that world is endless and filled with happiness. Thankfully, Angelina has the talent to take us to that special world too.

"What else is there to say", exactly right Maria....she is a marvelous young lady with a voice of pure gold. She definitely is channeling her inner Dinah here. She chooses such beautiful songs to sing that really mean something to her as you can tell. The first time I heard this my brain could not compute what I was seeing. I just kept thinking, "She's 8 freakin years old!" Thank you, Maria, for another fine AJ reaction.

Always one of my favorites from Angelina. Her tone and sense of timing is impeccable. Sinatra always had a way of turning a phrase and Angelina is on the same level as Frank.

Angelina said one time that when she closes her eyes while singing, she is in her “happy place.” She is singlehandedly bringing classic jazz back to the 21st century! This is one of my very favorite performances of hers. One of the backup singers here was overheard saying, “I can’t believe I’m singing for an eight year old!” And they did a beautiful job-it added so much as well as the pianist.

Angelin can speak and read English before 6 yo! Her father has worked/lived in several countries during Angelina's young years. He works in the oil industry, and has traveled a lot! There is a video where Angelina is like 4 yo, she shows her room and her toys etc., there she speaks excellent English.

I agree with you that Angelina was channeling Dinah Washington and that she understood the lyrics and the feelings of the lyrics more so than any other eight-year-old would.
