As a brazilian I'm proud of her, but I think it's fair to leave her with this tenths as "room for improvement", because she (possibly only she) can someday make it even better

There is also leg separation in the pre-flight phase, which is just a .1 deduction. Also she piked down just a little bit and maybe chest down. I don’t believe there is deduction on how far you are from the center of the line. Just as long as you don’t go out of bounce. But wow I’m just knit picking. Simone’s double pike and Andrades Cheng could legitimately be the highest execution score in the open ended code

I'm Brazilian and I saw the interview she gave righ after this competition, she said that she could feel her body a bit piked during that vault. So I think that was probably the deduction she had.

I’ve never heard of a half on referred to as an onodi, I was under the impression the onodi was specifically for a back takeoff to front walkover

You're right. An Onodi is specifically a back handspring with half-twist to a front walkover on beam, not just any back handspring with a half-twist on any event. The entry is a round-off half on or Yurchenko 1/2.

Até aonde eu sei, em uma competição internacional essa foi a maior nota de execução depois que mudou a forma de avaliação, só a rebeca e outra ginasta( que tinha outro salto) conseguiram essa nota de execução.

@@user-ux2rv1ux4n No caso isso foi antes quando nao tinha nota de dificuldade e tiveram varios 10... estao se referindo após a mudança do codigo.

Little off center and piked landing, preflight open legs. Vaults/skills that hard get deduction bc they are so hard.

As a Brazilian, I think the judges could have given Rebeca Andrade a perfect 10 for her execution. The athletes need to be rewarded for the great effort they take to dedicate themselves to artistic gymnastics.

Effort isn’t worth a gold medal, it’s the other way around. If that were the case then everyone competing would just get random bonuses just for participating

@@hazelnutspred3348 There is no random bonus. The question here is a score of 10 for an impeccable exercise. If you think that Rebeca and other athletes, who throughout the history of gymnastics made their presentations and NONE deserved a 10, it means that you have the same archaic view that the jury has. It is humanly impossible to do all the movements perfectly. Athletes who perform impeccably deserve a 10.

@@jboww2121 that’s not true. It’s a 1 tenth deduction if you don’t land on the line in the middle.

She didn’t deserve a perfect 10 because it wasn’t perfect. Beautiful and one of the best ever competed, but not perfect. Deductions: preflight leg separation, landing off center, pike down on landing. ETA: someone else said chest down on landing, which I agree with.

Question: do you have to land perfectly on the center white line with the line between your feet in order to have no deductions? I thought landing anywhere between the two side lines was enough.

@@ParoloAndrenope! Commenter is wrong, you only get deducted if a foot or both feet are outside the lines, I also disagree with the pike down statement. No one can land perfectly straight, it’s not even safe to land like that.
