I have tried a lot of these products because I used to be a product junkie. I will be 52 this year and I realize that consistency is the key. Vitamin C in the day, Retin at night. Good moisturizer and sunscreen. Eat well and get out the house and walk. Lift some light weights. Drink water 90 % of the time. Or Sparkling water with fruit. No fillers or Botox needed yet. I also use the FOREO Bear. Great video!

I plan on alternating vitamin c and Retinol at night. Every other day, doing one or the other. In the day. I will stick to just Hyaluronic acid, a Moisturizer and sunscreen. You look good and your routine is what I hear all the professionals say and it's paying off.

I co sign this fact! I wanted to love the Lume products, the idea behind it the science etc but I work in healthcare and it smells like yeast to me I don’t care what fragrance its suppose to be the finish smells like yeast. So yes sometimes you cannot get over the smell of a product regardless of the alleged effectiveness.

Oh and you definitely put me on to drugstore products that i would have never touch with a 10 foot pool before you.I now follow Dr Alexis S and Dr V. Love videos like this. My skin care routine is BASIC so it's nice to see what works and what doesn't work for others. Dr Dray is a fan of the BGS kids' version because of the higher SPF. As for the Herbivore bakuchiol, there are videos out there on their bakuchiol not having active bakuchiol (supposedly due to some shortage/problem in the supply chain) and them failing to tell the public...

I love The Ordinary Niacinamide serum! It's def a holy grail for me. Background - I'm 31 and had always only used Clinique combo-dry cleanser, Clinique exfoliating lotion #2 (the liquid that's similar to a toner), Clinique moisturizer (moisture surge intense or 72-hour hydration - LOVE this), and sunscreen throughout my 20's. I've always had clear, even skin, maybe a blemish around that time of the month but nothing too crazy. Then I turned 30 and my skin changed (small stubborn flesh tone bumps and hyperpigmentation around my mouth), so I decided that I may need to try an active or serum. I tried TO's Niacinamide serum and literally saw results the next morning. I still use it almost everyday, but I notice that if I go longer than 3 days without using it, my dryness and hyperpigmentation makes a grand entrance. I also use TO's Lactic Acid 10% + HA here and there - it's ok I guess. I also use Heritage Store's Rosewater Toner after each skincare step and I LOVE it - another HG! I'm thinking about trying Retinol for prevention but I'm nervous. My mom always says if it aint broke don't try to fix it lol. Do you recommend a Retinol/retinoid for early 30's? The Youth to the People cleanser dried my skin out sooo badly 😫while my skin did feel really clean after using it, it was just WAY too stripping. I actually really love the the Black Girl Sunscreen because it's so moisturizing. I'm really dry in my t-zone and I think the glow makes my skin look healthy. I know, unpopular opinion on this product lol.

First things first, I love your hair!!! You're gorgeous girl!! I have tried a few of the products mentioned. I'd say that both, the Biossance sunscreen and the Pipette were epic failures for me. Both made me looked like the Corpse bride! The Youth to the People cleanser flared up my rosacea and that ain't cool. The cerave moisturizing cream is great to slap on top of my retinol. it has helped with the dryness. The supergoop sunscreens are overhyped and overpriced and the worst thing.... they leave me with a gross white cast. The glow recipe package is pretty and that's where it ends for. I can't get the smell. Oh well. Thank you for creating a wonderful community where we can respect each other's opinions.

I use The Ordinary Niacinamide serum. I love the price point and that it helps control my oils, as I have oily skin. It does not irritate my skin at all. I didn’t even know 10% was considered high because that’s how much it doesn’t cause any irritation for me. However, people say Niacinamide is a great active for uneven skin tone/getting rid of dark marks. I use my Niacinamide every day for months. I’m not really seeing where it helps with discoloration. I wish it could work that way for me. 🥺

Right! I like Black Girl Sunscreen for my body only, I wouldn't dare put it on my face. I used it on a recent beach trip and I liked. Now what I liked was Sun Bum sunscreen spray on my body when laying out in sun. Super Goop Unseen Sunscreen... it didn't do much as far as affecting my skin but I want a little moisture and I didn't like the matte look. Sometimes 10% Niacinaminde can cause irritation when using it every day. You really only need about half that in percentage. Try using it once every other day. Also some products and serums already have Niacinaminde in it as first ingredient, so you could be already getting it. I stopped using my pure Niacinaminde daily and only use it when needed bc it caused me irritation as well. Love your videos ❤

I still use Pond's cold cream as a makeup remover amongst all the balms, micellar waters and makeup remover wipes of the world. Pond's gets rid of everything w/o that oil slick feeling. I thought BGS was ALL hype until an influencer actually complained about the formulation of the original one on her oily skin. I thought BINGO, then it'll be perfect on my dry, dermatitis ridden skin(😄) and it has been my go to since. No more layering moisturizers in the AM. Just Naturium serum and BGS.

I'm more caramel and the first few times I used it, my husband said I look like a ghost and asked if I was bleaching 😳🤦🏽‍♀️😂 I learned quickly to not go so hard so fast and rub it in like my life depended on it and not go too heavy. I also have sensitive skin and was quite surprised that actives like this one didn’t freak my shit out too much. I would say for people who do have a reaction to this maybe dilute the product with a moisturizer (couple of drops on top of the cream while in hand) before applying it to your face. I also found that there are some moisturizers that don’t mix well with niacinamide but of course it’s all about trial and error♥️

I definitely have to give the black girl sunscreen a shot over the winter (most sunscreens aren't moisturizing for me during that time of the year). I wear sunscreen everyday, so I try to look for mineral sunscreen that is friendly towards our water system yet doesn't leave a white cast. I've been recently trying Hero Cosmetics' Force Shield. It's a great, lightweight sunscreen. Blends easily, just doesn't moisturize. The Ordinary Niacinamide I did try. I used about half a bottle. Didn't do anything for me at all. What did help restore my skin barrier (I dehydrated my skin in my late teens-early 20s due to using an acne product that didn't work well with my skin - Desert Essence Thoroughly Clean cleanser; at early 30s, my skin was still really dry when it was initially oily) is Ceramedx Ultra Moisturizing Cream. It contains plant-based ceramides and is like a cruelty-free version of Cerave cream. I've been using it for half a year now and it's my holy grail moisturizer.

I love The Ordinary products. My skincare routine is almost exclusively composed of The Ordinary. I tried Black Girl sunscreen and like the creamy version; the matte gel smells bad.

Same. I love everything from The Ordinary. My skin does really well with these products. I love the foundation. Stays on all day. I love Black Girl Sunscreen as well the original formula. I don't love the Matte because of the bottle. I love the kids one for the kids

I personally don’t like Cerave brands because my skin doesn’t change at all. I’m a 15 and used it for about a year and it didn’t work for my face but actually got worse. I feel like the best sunscreen I use is Neutrogena sunscreen clear skin breakout free oil free sunscreen; it’s not oily and I use for my body. My skin person like harsher chemical. So for the past 4 months I have used one main brand which is Mario Badescu which works perfect for me. I use the face soap, toner, anti acne serum, and drying lotion. Then I just use victim c as moisturizer day and night.

I saw the cerave cream in the thumbnail and I was so excited that someone else thought it was wayyy overrated but nope 😭 I tried it on my face and my body and I think it made me even drier than I would’ve been without moisturizer somehow?? Even though I used it on damp skin and tried every which way, I always woke up crusty in the morning
