Tbh, discussions about "the best debut" or "perfect discographies" are pretty useless, because they don't depend on anything besides your personal music taste, so arguing about it with other people who have different tastes is completely pointless. To me Oneus have the best debut and a perfect discography, but that's just because I adore their music and I would never expect anyone who's not also a huge fan of their music to agree with me.

Bahiyyih really is talented, sadly she was robbed out of screen time just like many other talented girls and she's the only one from those girls who actually made it, and yes there were girls who deserved the spot too. I was actually surprised how much votes she got since moas literally can't vote like that for txt...

With Bahiyyih I was sad at first too, especially since my number one pick throughout the entire show was 10th (And the top 9 debuted), but it's not Bahiyyih's fault she has a famous brother. It was a privilege, sure, and it did get her far, but she wouldn't have been SECOND above Yujin even if it was just her brother's fans voting. Also what helps putting it into perspective compared to your faves is considering that if Bahiyyih wasn't in the top 9, the 10th would've made it. Not Shana or Bora or Yurina (who all deserved it too, but so did every other trainee). And to top it off, the one who would have been in the top 9 if it weren't for Bahiyyih, which is Suyeon, is joining the newly debuted group Billlie for their next comeback. So the top TEN has debuted now. We can't blame Bahiyyih for the placement of the other girls anyway, as more would have to be out of the top 9 for them to make it.

i personally don't think it's privilege that bahiyyih made it so far. i've seen many hiyyihlights state that they didn't know who she was and soon chose her as their pick. and i've also seen moas who watched the show saying that they initially watched it because she's huening kai's sister and then they started supporting her because they started to like her and her talent. but also as a hiyyihlight and a moa myself, i've seen that many moas actually did not support her throughout the final, like they didn't really care? the only reason she got through and made it into kep1er is because of her fans and supporters. i'll never understand that argument against her. also whenever someone says that someone else should've been in the group they always take bahiyyih out which is a little :/ i feel like she deserves her spot, like why would we vote for her if we didn't see her talent? why would we vote for her if all we saw her as was a little sister? like obviously there's more to it than just that. and throughout the show bahiyyih has improved so much and has actually proven that she should debut. like obviously there is a little room for improvement, but she's still a good performer and she isn't a bad singer or dancer either, she's actually better than many people may think, they just haven't watched her fancams and only based their opinions off of the fact that she's huening kai's sister.

I'm actually sorry for bahiyyih because now she's only known as hueningkais sister instead being known as a talented idol. The show used her brother for views and they put her in the final group just to give their new group some predebut fans. I can already see fan videos about her and her brothers similarities or moas asking to stream her group to make kai happy. This is so bad for her like she will never be herself anymore. There are other siblings in kpop and in those cases like infinite sungyeol-golden child daeyeol or 2ne1 dara-mblaq thunder and they actually tried to hide their relationship to be sure their siblings are known for being themselves, especially sungyeol tried really hard to be sure his brother is known for himself and not just being an infinite members brother that he even stopped talking daeyeol in his trainee period. I'm not blaming hueningkai or bahiyyih because it was mnet who used their status to promote 999 but I wish they took the same path and be famous themselves rather than being used as a bait for more viewers

Why don't some people get that its been 5/6 years since their old school hip hop centric sound, couldn't it be inevitable that the boys themselves might be comfortable with their new sound? Does it always have to be "because the audience wants this, the audience wants that"? How many times has Namjoon mentioned in their magazine interviews that they like to experiment with their music, that they are trying to just let their feelings out and express themselves? How many times has Yoongi and Namjoon spoken about their album writing/producing process in their vlives? How many times has Jimin and V talked about their musical journey with their duet bit and solo projects? Heck their latest album is literally called Bts-Esque for what sound they wanted to go forth. If only people would just sit and listen to what bts is saying. Not just their songs, but listen to THEM. Its surprising, throughout my whole army journey over these years, how many people actually listen to what they say. And btw, for people who might probably pull up hate on me, I am NOT a new dynamite-butter army. I STILL prefer We on over PTD, but what I won't do is disregard their own intensions, question their own sicereity and delegence over their own music. I do not have any power to say that they aren't the ones that like the sound they are doing, or they're only doing it for a particular audience. Thank you for your opinions tho. Love you.😁😀💜

What did they experience during these two years? The pandemic. What message did they deliver with their music throughout these two years? About the pandemic. Simple. What they experienced, they wrote/performed. Same can be applied for the LYs. Same for their HYYHs and school trilogys. And like it or not, we can't take charge of the decision of what they do with their music or how diligently they do it. We can only like it or leave it.

I was the one who wrote that and I think I couldn't explain myself well. My problem is not with their different styles but I don't like how they follow latest trends instead of using their own sound. They have a special sound to themselves which made me a bts fan in the first place but when they lost the sound I also stopped stanning them (I'm not hating them just I don't stan anymore because their music isn't my style) I'm also not supporting hip hop sound because honestly speaking it wasn't bts. They were following what was popular back then and it was hip hop hence why they debuted with that concept. Even when you look at the beginning their company was trying hard to make bts members look like bap members (the leading hip hop group). They didn't had many fans back then for the same reason, their music was good but it was something they already heard and people didn't wanted to stan a same sound same for me too I listened bts since their predebut days but I really started stanning them after the hip hop era because I already stanned seo taiji, hot, bap and stanning a group with the same sound was useless. Thankfully they stopped forcing members into cringe hip hop style and they found their own sound, they had happy songs like for you or dna, they had sad songs like I need u or spring day, they had different concepts but in every song there was something bts. However that sound disappeared with their english releases and even thought I got a little hope after on they didn't get back to who they were. And this is my problem because their latest releases sounded like a regular 4th gen kpop group or a classic western group to me, if i didn't knew bts were the singers I would never say its a bts song. It's not like they accidentally got famous and did english songs to stay in american market, bts get famous with their songs dna, fake love, boy with luv so why they changed sound that made bts to a cheap popular music? Also I don't know what they said in interviews because as I said I stopped stanning them since their music isn't my style anymore but my problem isn't with them changing hip hop concept, they can do anything they want in music just like the period between danger and boy with love just I wish they keep their original sound instead of following latest trend sounds

I actually wasn't referring to a specific person here, but a group of people who like the notion of bts, instead of bts. What I meant was that, instead of people plotting up why their current music is subjectively generic to them, and coming to a far-streched conclusion that they might be doing this because of this reason or that, without actually giving them the liberty of their own music, maybe think of it as, they do like what they do, we/I just don't like it, and that's fine. There's just so many people outside of this sphere, that claim to have unstanned but cannot fathom to actually unstan and leave the group. I disliked a lot of their releases as well, but I do have to say that these boys really don't care what people have to say about their music at the end of the day. They do what they want to do with it. They do not give people the authority of thinking like that, which make them the villains in internet spaces. Since the time dna was dropped, there was an ongoing complaint about bts pushing into the west, and love yourself series just being any other cringeworthy life lesson series of not that importance. Yet they released the trilogy didn't they. The same happened with dynamite and english releases, which whether I liked it or not, I wasn't taking the authority of speaking over bts, about their own music and sound, that's it. Please. And also, how many times Yoongi had to say in their interviews and press conference that if people just listened to their albums they would still find hiphop and trap tracks. Like, the man is so over that people is not listening what they are saying and complain without even listen the whole album.

1- agreed 2- pirate king is something else. they sound mature, the song is strong and they have perfect stage presence being rookies 3- sticker is a unique song, it may not the the mainstream kind of beat but it fit them well people get intimidated by the number or members and units, instead of starting at their songs, performances and appreciate their work getting to know them as artists, then search how the group works bc it’s not that difficult 4- music taste is different for person to person 5- the beauty standards are important in kpop bc it’s a cultural thing for both genres and I don’t think it’s going to change, but it’s sadly true that older women have a harder time with keeping up their relevance then men 6- the 2nd and 3rd gen had unique concepts like vixx voodoo doll and exo wolf but on the 4th is less risky but still show up w masterpieces like txt L=L and onlyoneof libido 7- what?? not just because one company is the worst the other one isn’t bad too 8- idols personal life shouldn’t matter to fans. about dating, friendships, sexuality we should set some boundaries 9- THIS!! this is not really towards you or the person who commented that, just my general thoughts "bts are keep changing their sound to fit western standards/popular music" y'all really saw 3 english sound and decided to hate on them. yes they changed their style a lot, because unlike your favs, bts actually write their music so they change the sound because PEOPLE CHANGE AND GROW, when they were in school they made songs about school, then about youth and first love, then about their feeling during pandemic, and i'm sorry but it doesn't make sense to say that they do that to fit standards, cause what are they getting from western industry?? literally nothing, they're hardly getting played on radio and just get racist comments and "i can't separate them from any regular 4th gen group" I', sorry which group would relaese yet to come as a title track..or life goes on and considering solos wild flower is very namjoon like, haegum is very yoongi (and it ties to daechwita" that person mentioned MOTS concept and that they're not doing it anymore.. mots came out 3 years ago, later there was only BE which very much fit the theme of pandemic, so how they were supposed to make a conpet album like MOTS if they didn't relaese an album, bts takes more time to do an album, kpop groups usually have comback 2-3 times a year they didn't left doing unique concept (like mots) because mots was literally their last album if you consider the fact that they were supposed to go on tour and leave to military, BE was not planned at all of course it's ok ig you prefer a certain sound like idk hyyh era, and if you don't like bts current music that's perfectly fine but saying that theyre changing their sound to fit any 4th gen group is just not true in my opinion

I think generally there are no concept songs anymore. Before concepts would be the main element of a song but now concepts are just there to add a purpose to the song they're not powerful or not even visible. For example they say they'll be doing a gambler concept but the only thing about gambling would be the poker table at the background or they say they will be doing a vampire concert and only thing vampireish would be bite marks on their neck. Maybe it's because my favourite groups are serious in concepts like bap, myname, boyfriend and my ult is vixx and they took all risks to show their concepts (I mean they send a master-slave contract with album when they're doing bdsm concept, send perfumed sheets and sold perfumes as merch when they do a parfume maker concept) And since I'm used to their style today's nearly not visible concepts feels too week for me. But I would love it if groups take concepts serious and do masterpieces like dreamcatcher songs, golden child burn it and ram pam pam, txt puma and can't you see me, onlyoneof libido, ace undercover and goblin (and I would love to hear more, if there are other groups that do strong concepts like them please tell me)

I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion, help me out: I'm a 3rd gen baby, I got into kpop when many 2nd gen groups were at their highest and 3rd gen groups were debuting. I don't wanna be like "the good old days" and everything, but I feel like 4th gen music is so noisy and messy. Some songs are good examples of experimental music, which I like, but most of them just add a lot of unconventional sounds at weird moments, blasting beats and sirens, changing the tempo and sudden beat drops, and everything is so confusing. Even in songs that are supposed to be calmer, more acoustic, sometimes it just sounds like noise pollution. I like they're trying to innovate and evolve, but some songs can be just as good if they follow a standard approach. You don't have to be the next Yoko Ono in every comeback, chill (ofc, not all songs/artists are like that, some of my favorite kpop songs are 4th gen)

I think you automatically like the generation you joined. I also started listening kpop at the late 2nd/early 3rd gen times and today's music sound too noisy for me. Its not because the beat or the general vibe of the song, I grew up listening bap or block b I'm already used to strong beats but today's music feels too electronical(?) something in the songs make me uneasy. In the same way I think most of new kpop fans who start kpop today won't enjoy old songs as much I do because they would feel something weird in them

i feel like for award shows, the actual issue isn’t who is winning, it’s rather a lack of categories to win. specifically korean award shows tend to mush everything together - which in its own right doesn’t really make sense to me. you could have a ballad, hip-hop song, and something retro up against each other for an award… which again doesn’t really make sense, does it. then there’s the issue of participation awards and award shows fully relying on popular groups, like bts and twice, to actually gain a lot of views - which is probably why they tend to go last in performing… if award shows were to actually have more categories, in sort of a style like the grammys, and then also nominating songs in the categories they should be in, then i feel like people would actually want to watch, since there’s gonna be a lot of people winning- and then consequently there would maybe be a lack of hate/“insert group should have let insert group win” arguments.. this became very long, wow.

She is talented and I can’t say she didn’t deserve her spot, but to say that she wasn’t privileged is a complete lie. Being Kai’s sister definitely gave her a huge advantage in terms of securing a place in ke1pler. The show would never have allowed her to be eliminated. She was and is too popular and there would’ve been a BIG viewership drop if they didn’t debut her and a lot of people that would’ve been fans would’ve stopped supporting her group.

In my opinion... As an American, my fellow Americans need to stop comparing--white-- American pop acts with K-Pop idols. It's incomparable. Also, stop comparing American award shows to Korean 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘤 award shows. I've read a couple of comments, in which fans tried to make Korean music award shows look better by comparing non-musical related shows (like the Academy Awards, the Emmys, the Golden Globes) to Korean music awards like Melon Music Awards, MAMA and the Seoul Music Awards. It's-- Honey, just stop. If you prefer to watch Korean music award shows, then okay. That's your preference. But to say it's better... 😬 Ehhhhh... They're on the same level, in my opinion.

I still believe the best debut was into the new world by snsd simply because the power it holds and the changes it made to kpop and people. Nct u with 7th sense deserves to be in boldest debuts of kpop list instead with ace, nct127, dreamcatcher etc. cause even attempting that song is scary as a experienced dancer and singer plus it was given to a rookie group

Ts litteraly had some of the best artist and they just destroyed their lives and their will to do music. That so called dormitory they gave to trcng wasn't even a house, they gave no training but used trainees as personal slaves, they beat idols and not even pay their money. I recently watched bap yongguk's self documentary and I couldn't believe how much ts damaged him even though I knew they were the worst company. I'm not saying companies other than ts are good but when you compare all of them ts is clearly the evilest one so far.

like 4 me, im a bts stan, been one since their debut. i hate their songs butter and ptd, so i dont bother like streaming them, cuz there is no point in listening to a song that you dont feel like listening to~ so ye, dont pressure yoself to listen to it cuz cuz everyone else is listening to it. if they hate on you cuz of that, screw them. everyone has different tastes amirite?

Honestly I agree with the BTS wins opinion. I'm not saying BTS didn't deserve any of the wins they got, but I feel like some armys like to pretend that just because they used to come from a small company and they worked so hard, all their songs and choreos are inherently better than every other song and choreo. Sometimes BTS wins in certain categories just because they have a bigger fanbase and not because they were actually the best in that instance. I just wanna clarify that I am saying this as someone who loves BTS and their choreos and discography. Also they have a very distinct vocal line, a strong dance line and one of the best raplines in kpop. They work hard and they're very talented, but that doesn't mean other groups don't work hard or aren't talented too. I think they deserve their overall succes, but I also think that for example dynamite didn't deserve its 50th music bank award more than a group with a great comeback that's never had a win before. Or their more simplistic choreo for a song that didn't revolve around dance in the first place winning over a heavy choreo based song

Like for example, if Yg didn’t have beef with MAMA then ddu ddu du would’ve won for best dance, that’s because literally everyone was doing it lmao. So, if BTS are able to reach bigger audiences obviously more people would become interested in the dance. A lot of people were pissed at the 2020 MAMA and MMA awards because dynamite won best dance over kick it, while kick it was an absolute bop and the dance was amazing, dynamite was literally EVERYWHERE. Like, everyone was either singing it or dancing to it so of course they would made a bigger impact. Sorry for the long comment lmao

@@aangisbestboi3984 Maybe I'm being idealistic because I think you're right in that songs and choreos and groups are often judged by biggest impact, but that's exactly my point, they shouldn't be, because then the category "best..." doesn't make any sense. It's not a fair fight, it's not about best, it's about most impactful, most popular. Dynamite wasn't the best song of 2020. I love that song, but it wasn't. It was very impactful tho, BTS + first English song, it HAD to become popular. Even if you don't want to admit another group was better, I think most people can agree that On and Black swan alone were better than Dynamite Now I'm not saying that BTS is the only group that sometimes gets awards just because they're a big group. You mentioned NCT, I'm an NCTzen as well, but I don't think Sticker deserved all the wins it got, even if the song had a lot of "impact" (maybe that's just subjective tho, but I know I'm NOT the only one who didn't like that song). I think they deserve their overall succes, just like BTS, but there's just specific instances where they get certain awards that another group should have won

1-agree with first opinion. 2-music is subjective for me it's bp debut. 3-no one pulled that song,its a bad song, its just because kpoppers stan and like their fav that they think they pulled a bad song. I understand their concept since their debut but in sm case it is messy because they keep exchanging the same members . They aren't "graduating" they just use the most popular to boost many sub unit. 4-i absolutely didn't like rv albums,few good bside doesn't mean the best. Same with others. For me music is subjective and is reflected on chart. 5- agree with op. But women agree on this and abide by men's rules for 5 years of fame. I hate the trend of plastic surgery going around with that fake jaw. 6-today a 15yo is doing sexy move and wearing daring cloths. 7-kpoppers r focusing too much on Korean companies!! For me "into the new world" is the best debut song, Im not a fan of snsd but it makes me cry and just seeing them perform it throughout the years makes it much more emotional

i think w the hiyyih bit there is a small bit of misinformation. for example moas didn't go out buying sim cards to vote for her, rather, her fans were admiring the sunghoon voters that did it during iland. as a moa, i enjoy watching her but i didn't go out of my way to vote for her everyday. even looking at fancam numbers and tiktok views, i think yes, huening kai gave her a lot of exposure but moas aren't going to organise entire fanbases off of that. bahiyyih had huge fan bases that were really organised. that was her biggest strength.
