RE: The WILD Star Wars Game "Leak"

An online publications known as "Inside Gaming" claimed to have knowledge of the upcoming Ubisoft Star Wars video game developed by Ubisoft Massive. However, this "leak" seems ridiculous and I don't think you should take it with any seriousness. Today I outline why the claim is ridiculous in this context, though not in its content.

Don't you find it funny that Ubisoft nowadays barely shows trailers and news from their games, and most of the info we got we got it through leaks and leaks and leaks? I mean, this Star Wars game is being made by Ubisoft Massive, the same team that is making Avatar Frontiers of Pandora, a game that is supposedly being released in less than three months but the only info we have about it is from two trailers that came out more than a year ago...

@@quentinh3140 The problem with “surprise drops” is that marketing (the number 1 strategy needed for generating hype and producing sales) is nonexistent, thus resulting in low hype and low sales. Marketing is arguably the most important part in a game’s development. Look at Cyberpunk for example. The game was a flop on all technical levels imaginable, but it sold MILLIONS…all because it managed to keep and maintain its hype for several years.

We all know what happened with Cyberpunk, transparency isn't always as transparent as they make it out to be. I love Cyberpunk but I still believe they scammed us, I rather have the Rockstar approach.
The leaked gameplay for Pandemic's Battlefront 3 in 2008, I believe, had the seamless ground to space battle transition. The demo had the player taking a space ship from tattooine and flying up to space where a battle was going on between two big cruisers.

Yes, open-world is such a catch all term. In GTA, there is a living society, with enforcement, etc. In Star Wars there are Imperial worlds, Outer Rim territories,.. Star Wars is a daunting universe, with reams of role playing, novels, and other settings to pull from and iterate on. What I don’t want is an empty, repetitive world devoid of any vibrancy or story. I want a main narrative, with small offshoot stories hidden here and there in the vast world.

Ubisoft has talented devs. It is plausible they could mount a comeback if they get their head’s out of their own asses and put passion back into their games. The rate at which they crank out highly detailed triple A titles with a ton of content is commendable. If they can just focus that energy on a solid story and gameplay mechanics and not be afraid to try new things and I would believe they are capable of making a great Star Wars game.

hey Luke, can you keep doing videos on any leaks like this going forward? It's nice to be in the know with stuff like this because i don't think i would've saw it otherwise
Find it hard to believe you’ve never heard of SEO (search engine optimization).
For game leaks I like to wait for official confirmation. Then I become mildly hopeful. A month or two after release when the reviews and playthroughs say it lives up to expectations (how often does that happen?) I'll get excited.
Me and my brother were talking about all the possibilities and stuff we can do, we were geeking out for hours over a stupid leak/rumor lmao
I think the best star wars games were actually... mods. Star wars outerworlds for x4, MBII, Galactic contention. These are all peaks of their genre. I super highly recommend them
Luke: Star Wars! Me: Yay! Luke: Ubisoft, Massive Entertainment Me: And like that you've lost me.
A new Star Wars game every six months sounds like a nightmare for quality control. I get that different studios work on different games, but I don't think Disney can keep that many irons in that many fires and have them all come out very good.
The term you're looking for might be Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), mostly used for front end programming but marketing use it as well

Ubisoft, nuff said. We’ll see if I’m wrong in 2033 when it comes out.

well we're getting multiple tv shows every year, bad batch season 2, mando season 3, acolyte, etc, and each of the shows are multiple movies in length, in a largely cinematic quality, so i think they are basically fulfilling their promise
I remember an even older video with seemles transition between a planet and space. They started fighting a player on the planet, flew with him up into space (which changed how the fighter behaved) and then flew back to the planet. Could have been Star Citizen but I don't remember.
I recently bought Battlefront 2 after watching your video on it and now I am going to go to you exclusively for Star Wars game news.
A Quantic Dream Star Wars could be kind of wild. I'm also envisioning 'Untitled Strategy Game' as a take on 'Untitled Goose Game' in which R2-D2 endlessly annoys C-3PO.
Star Wars 1313 looked so good. I wish some studio would bring that back to life.
This tech has been available since before then, actually another Star Wars game. The abandoned original Battlefront 3 (Free Radical) videos show you this happening. You can find them about. Still, would love something more open like this to happen
Ubisoft making a star wars game is gonna be dope, since AC Origins came out I had a thought about "what if ubisoft made star wars" and a couple years later its coming true, cant wait for it to drop

Great video! The other thing to keep in mind though…. And I know you gotta make the videos to keep the lights on perhaps. But only time will tell! All of the info will eventually come to light, or may get made! It may get cancelled, it may be the best or worst we’ve ever seen. So patience is key! I’d love it to be like no man’s sky but Star Wars style. That would be great!
I was just recently playing through Fallen Order again as well. IT had its frustrations, but I can play with that combat side mode for hours and even better when you run the mod that allows you to place as many units as you like.
In 2018 they released a game with this tech for the switch called starlink. Not quite as big but you where a space ship able to travel between different planets "seamlessly"
Which computer case are you running in the background ? The one with the dual front fans. I'm running one with 2x200mm fans in the front but yours seems more compact. I like it.

Luke, the BG&E2 clip doesn't really look like No Man's Sky. You know what it looks like? Space Engine, down to the rayleigh scattering in the atmosphere (the orange glow of dawn and sunset), the way light makes the gas giant wtih rings shine very realistically... I'm impressed they had this level of graphical fidelity in light effects, but then again, it's always been one of Ubisoft greatest strenghts, they know how to work with light. Remember when Unity looked like they used raytracing, but they didn't? It was awesome.
I simply hope they utilize some kind of rpg lvling system that allows for you to build some form of classes
Can you look into the day before and make a video on your thoughts on it?

First time ever watching your video and it’s on a Wednesday, I wonder if he’s streaming right now 🤔
I mean, that makes sense coming from Ubisoft, considering they were planning on doing that same thing with Good Beyond & Evil 2.
The tech created in BGE 2 for apparently seamlessly going from one planet to another is very very very likely not used by Massive for their SW games, those are 2 completely different games developed by different teams and using different engines, it's not because those are 2 Ubisoft projects that it will magically transfer from one game to another. Maybe Massive is working on a tech that will allow to do the same than what bge apparently does but for sure this has not been transferred from bge to sw
That's funny what you said about people saying 'luke I am your father to you' I have a similar problem with Jake from State Farm, only I can't say I'm a big fan of the insurance commercials.
Keep being honest and brutal Luke, awesome info mate!
Wait for them to tie the Galactic Starcruiser into the plot to boost their hotel sales. Disney+Ubisoft? Check, please.
They should just hire modders. Battlefront started as a battlefield 1942 mod called galactic conquest, a year later the original BF was announced and had a galactic conquest mode. They should hire teams like that and the Tie Fighter Total Conversion and Star Wars Open World mod teams. They are fans making the games fans want, not vomiting a live service
this is why i love your videos, just brutal honest opinions lmao
