This is some very clean work. Your nephew is lucky to have such a smart and handy uncle. Also that song that is playing in the middle is awesome.

Thanks! I actually spend more time than I’d like to admit picking music.
I envy crafty men as you, brother. Very cool to see
I just needed info on how to disassemble the bike to get to the battery 🙂, which I couldn't find online as my model looks different from the instructions on the official razor site. Thank you - your video has that model! Would never attempt something you did! You are a great uncle!!!
Awesome video! Thanks so much. Was curious about converting my daughter's Razor Pocket Mod to lithium and this is very inspiring!
Great work some one just threw one of those away at my trash bin I can’t wait to get it fixed I might need to upgrade the batteries aswell
This man is a master lord jesus you my friend are a master at your craft
Wouldn’t it be great if Razor just made them like this so parents didn’t have to modify them? 30min of run time is pretty lame…

For anyone interested even though they claim 30 minutes run time. My 6 year old oversized son has been getting a steady 90 minutes run time on a full charge.

how do you not have 100000+ subs?!?! your videos are awesome
Nice job !
I can’t find the battery you got on eBay. I saw you posted links but they are all broken. Where can I get that battery?
What’s a good 12 ah battery that fits in the original body
I got my son the same bike and can't find the lithium battery where did you order it from
have you tried to put suspension?
Do you still use the factory charger?
so how did it do, do you have a review?
If you see this how fast does it go or is it the same
I have one like that for my kids. How much would you charge to do the same thing? I’m in Florida.
Could I have a link to a similar battery I could not fined one 😊
I upgraded my kids MX350s with 2 12v 10ah batteries from lifeP04. I also upgraded the control box and throttle with what you show. Now the bikes are shutting down and smell like something is burning. Do you know what could be wrong?
How much would you charge to do that to my sons mx350 ?
How much cost the batery?😊
I have one of these and I’m looking to replace my battery with a 24v 15ah and I’m curious why do I need to upgrade the controller and throttle if it’s the same voltage?
@jamesjacoby
Жыл бұрын
You don’t have to upgraded it. The upgraded throttle and controller provide variable throttle and a little bit more speed.
I have this exact bike!
can you listed the product you used in the description? i have an hard time finding the products. thank you

Hey, so I was wondering if you changed the controller so it could except then new, but different battery. Can the battery swap work w original controller.
@jamesjacoby

Yes. You can swap without updating the controller. Just make sure the battery you choose has a BMS with low voltage cutoff
How much do you charge to do that to my sons bike ?
I am using the same controller and throttle but using a 36V 12AH Lithium battery. Is it essential to keep the fuse in play?
@jamesjacoby

Yes! Fuse is your friend.
If you switch to lithium, do you have to change the charger and controller of can you keep the original? Thank you for your help

I modded my daughter's powerwheel quad years ago to accept dewalt drill batteries. Would like to do something similar to my grandsons mx350. I like the snap in batteries for power tools like the trimmers and mowers. Gonna research

There's some vids here on KZread that has done this. There's a kid that removed the controller and just hooked up a Milwaukee 18v batter straight.
Is the improved controller required because of the new Lithium battery or I can just replace the battery keeping the original controller?
@jamesjacoby
2 жыл бұрын
You can keep the same controller. The upgraded one provides variable throttle and small performance boost.
Nice work! Have you ever installed a battery life indicator to a razor scooter with lithium batteries? Would love to see a video on that.
@jamesjacoby

The twist throttle includes a battery charge level indicator that works fairly well.
How you connected the battery did you used the same harness with the fuse?
@jamesjacoby

I know I reused the Anderson connector that came with it and either added a fuse or kept the inline one - either way you want a fuse 😅
Could you kindly supply a link for that battery as I cannot find it anywhere.. Thank you kindly

Just search 24v lipo4. Take a tape measure, measure the space you have, and find a 24v lipo4 that will fit. Same thing on any ebike/scooter/4 wheeler. Make sure you get as many AH as you can afford/fit.😊😊😊
Thank you for clean video - Question, I have extra Ebike battery 48V 10 AH sitting at home - Can that be connected to this 24 V 350W motor and using the same controller Hub ?

Would you please dumb down the wiring for me I can’t figure it out I have burned out two controllers trying to make it better for my sister.
So I have a MX350 I got for free, picked up a new battery set for it for like $35. It runs great, will pull my 11yr old no issues, but won't pull me lol I want to upgrade the battery and motor...where did you get this kit?
@jamesjacoby

Not a kit really, just a collection of stuff from eBay. Controller and accessories are from one seller. You could use any battery that’s 24v. I didn’t upgrade the motor, but I’ve seen options for that too.
Can u put a link about what light that is

Try searching ebay or other sites for "24v LiFePO4" or similar.
Can I get a list of the parts you upgraded
@jamesjacoby
2 жыл бұрын
Fast Scooters Controller, throttle and lights kit from eBay. It’s hard to link to a specific battery because the listings always change. Search for 24v LiFePO4 with US shipping. Get one that comes with the charger.
Shouldn't have to swap the controller....? But new controller can make it faster with less
How much the difference in speed? Runtime? And recharge time? planning to do this set up too thanks
@jamesjacoby

Speed is a little faster and it maintains speed better than before. Takes about 3 hours to charge from nearly empty to full. About 3 hours run time, which was probably overkill.

@@jamesjacoby That is a lot of runtime. I wonder if you could have found a 12aH that would have fit without modifying the body of the bike. The lithium batteries have much more usable power than SLA. I am wondering if the battery had a BMS built in though?
@jamesjacoby
Жыл бұрын
@@aaronbateman2948 for sure a smaller battery would more than adequate for most. Although it’s a nice luxury to only charge it occasionally. The BMS is built in.

There are tons of good commercial options that are turn-key, gas or electric. It's more if you WANT a project. Sometimes it ends up costing more to go custom. Depending on how old your son is and if he'd enjoy learning and doing the project with you it can be a fun route.
