Love your videos. I already over-volted my son's MX650 to a 48V 20Ah lithium linked in another of your videos. Also installed lights thanks to your help. Considering getting him this motor and controller for Christmas. Any issues running the 1800W motor with the ebay battery rated for 1200W? The 35A 20Ah I got is rated for 1500W, but still under the wattage of this motor. Thanks again for sharing all this great content!

No issues running 48v with 1800w motor kit. I believe the battery bms states 30amp but its more like 40A as i see no degrade in performance until voltage drops below 45V so that tells me 1800w / 45V = 40Amps

I have a 3kw motor, same vevor kit. I'm using overboard batteries and xt60 adapters to splice everything together. I'll eventually buy a solder kit and actually wire the batteries correctly. This all is going on a mx650. I'll be drilling holes in the frame because of those screws. I'm kinda new to all this, so I hope I don't mess anything up.

As B rich mentioned, unscrew the bolt, recess the screw head on the plate and repeat for the other two just in case you need to play with fitment. The screws will then sit flush and you can cut, grind or leave (if you have clearance) the extended screw ends off the opposite end.

Great video! Did you have to tap new threads to mount the new motor? I can't quite tell what you did from the video. I've head that the spacing is wider on newer motors. I've also heard that the 1000W or greater motors don't have recessed bolts.

Issues happened to coincide with swapping out the sprocket on the upgraded motor with the sprocket on the stock motor. No you don’t need the step down transformer for the throttle, its only need to run the headlights and taillights as they are 12 volts. You can use the single speed throttle that comes with the motor kit but be sure the motor is in high gear all the time by using jumper wire on the 3 speed wire harness on the controller: see video at 5:16. The benefit of having a 3 speed is better control in low gear off road. Also if kids rides ride the bike you can lower the gear
