    I remember the first time I heard a Ray Stevens song. It was "The Streak" and it was on the Looney Tunes album. Then I found my mother's "Shriner's Convention" album, and wore that thing out. Over 40 years later, and Ray Stevens is still putting a smile on my face with his music!

    Oh my I can remember back in the 70's either it was a special or Ray had his own variety show back then. I remember the Streak very well. My entire family was laughing uncontrollably from that skit. " Ethel is that you" ? "It was too late she had already been mooned".

In 1971, after "The Streak" I was sitting in our car feeding our one year old son when a streaker ran down the dragstrip & out thru the spectator parking lot right past our car! I laffed so hard because I could hear Ray saying "don't look Ethel"

    Been a fan of Ray's since I heard his first song as a teenager, I have many of his songs in my favourites. he is a master at observing the situation and putting it in words and music to great satisfaction. I have been lucky to have seen him twice in concert, once in his early career in 1961 i believe it was, and then years later. always a great showman. .

    Ray has always been a household name for me growing up. I knew a set of twins who went to school with him. Then when I was a teen into my twenties, his dad brought his lawn equipment to the small engine shop I worked at. My boss asked him about his nice shiny pickup truck that Ray bought him. Then in my 20s and 30s I worked for his first cousin Glen. He has been a hero of mine for a long time. Folks say they knew him back when he was still a Ragsdale. God bless Ray and his great family. Theyre all great people.
