    My grandmother and her sister were way ahead of their time. We used to go there in the summer and had to drink freshly juiced carrots. Me and my sister hated it! Today, I would have sat at their feet and been grateful for the recipes. All fruits and veggies. My nana's skin had a glow that made everyone say, "What do you use on your face?" I miss her dearly!

    I was a science experiment with amazing positive results. In 2016 I began my sugar free diet journey and 3 months later my type 2 diabetes is gone I lost 30 Kg from 115Kg down to 85Kg Exercise regularly and now feeling 30 years younger. At the age of 60 I began to do weight training in a gym. Though it sounds great there's more what you should do than just cutting sugar. You must eat and drink things that will clean your internal organs so they function correctly.

    Eczema, rosacea, acne, anxiety, ibs, depression sufferer for 10 years. Going Vegan (whole food plant-based) and eliminating all animal products and processed junk in my diet was a blessing in disguise. Little did I know that dairy was causing the build up of mucus in my body, the result of all of my cold and flu symptoms. Little did I know that dairy milk was causing the facial flare-ups (rosacea). Little did I know that the animal protein was contributing to my skin rashes, mood swings and general irritability to digest food correctly. Not to mention the high blood pressure, brain fog and fatigue. Wow! Little did I know how toxic such products were to the body. The result? Free from suffering. Free from aches. Free from pain. Free from food cravings. Free from medication, lotions and potions. I'm free from paying for my health!! I'm now aware. I'm full of energy. The mental clarity if next level. My mood lived. My mind open to all natural healing. I've also lost all of that unwanted body weight. I'm running again. I'm moving my body. I feel on top of the world!! For the record. I'm also getting all the right amount of nutrients and minerals each day. Living foods and full of life. Dead foods..... well.... I'll leave that one for you. Best of luck to all newbie (raw) vegans. Note: The detox is real folks. Give your body time to adapt. It won't happen over night. My biggest tip is to educate yourself as much as possible. Learn how to prepare food. Learn how to cook food. Learn about the importance of organic food. Follow the Vegan scene on KZread. Make friends. You're not alone. Peace and love.

    I've been vegan for 3 years, and my aches and pains are still there 100%. I only feel better if I do some stretching and yoga. I eat about 30% raw, and the cooked food is generally really simple ... liked steamed veggies, canned beans etc. Despite all this, my sleepiness and brain fog are also still intact. I haven't experienced any of the remarkable, life-changing tales that you hear about from this diet. I have, in the past, done a lot more raw, and I can attest to the increased energy, but it's nearly impossible to get all of your RDA's just eating raw. Take lysine, for example ... you would need to eat half a watermelon everyday to get enough lysine. Of course, who is to say that the RDA's are right? They vary from country to country ... sometimes drastically. Anyway, I'm encouraged to revisit my experience eating more raw by this, at least to lose 10 or 15 pounds. What I can also recommend is ditching the oil. I had horrible heart issues eating oil, and giving up that has taken care of a lot of the irregularity.

  • @sethjones4916

    @sethjones4916

    Neil W ... I just take B12, which a large percentage of meateaters are also deficient in. I'm not downing supplements like you suggest. And yes, many vegans are coming out of the woodworks, and many are not because they feel great, but being vegan doesn't mean that you are eating healthy. You have to stop eating crap. The longest living people typically eat no meat, or very little. Harvard scientist, David Sinclair recently discovered how meat excellerates one of the aging pathways in the body, but we've known for years all the diseases that eating a lot of meat encourages. And concerning milk and dairy, and what is natural, what adult mammal (like a human being) continues to drink breast milk? And the breast milk of another species? The breast milk of cows is designed to turn a small calf into an adult in a few months ... and we're downing all those hormones like candy. I get it, you like meat, and you like dairy, but more and more science points to eating whole plant foods, grown as naturally as possible. I want to live to see the retirement I've worked so hard for.

  • @sethjones4916

    @sethjones4916

    4 жыл бұрын

    Hey Neil, I don't know about raw meat, truthfully, but the cholesterol would probably be the same. I also don't know if raw meat would still age you as quickly as cooked. Also, when you eat meat, your gut flora changes. There are different bacteria, and a chemical produced that I've heard is detrimental ... it's like four letters ... TB something. But I don't know if the bacteria would still produce that from raw meat. You have to make up your own mind what you're willing to risk. Personally, if I was going to risk anything, it would be for a nice burger or steak, not some raw flesh that is likely to come back up on me, though :) Concerning milk, the US allows something like 22,000,000 pus cells per once. The pus is from overworking them tits. They get infected. At any rate, I would want that stuff boiled, unless you know a local farmer that doesn't overmilk his cows. On cereal, though, soymilk is great. With sweetener, I don't think anyone could tell the difference. Concerning supplements, a lack of zinc shows up as spots on the fingernails I believe, and as an itchy scalp. My nails are perfect, but I did have an ichy scalp once while vegan. I keep a bottle of zinc around, just in case I think I may be low, but I eat enough nuts and seeds which have zinc, and I haven't had any problems in a long time. With iron, a lot of leafy greens have iron (and calcium), which becomes much more bioavailable when you pour vinegar or lemon juice on them. Also, one thing to keep in mind about RDAs, is that they can differ drastically from country to country. A lot that stuff is just guesswork, and a lot of the blood tests for different vitamins and minerals are also boggus for different reasons. You have to know your science, and actually request the tests that are actually accurate. But, no, I haven't had bloodwork in a long time. I've been thinking about it, though, just to see, but I would have to do a heck of a lot of research beforehand to refresh my mind on which tests are completely inaccurate. It's a shame that you have to be your own doctor. I should find a nutritionist instead. I do feel that the body is pretty resilient, though, and if you eat mostly whole and natural, and don't go crazy on the junk, I think you'll be fairly healthy ... or at least you'll have a better chance of being healthy as long as your genes don't screw you over. That said, just because you eat meat, doesn't mean that you're not going to be deficient in things, especially if you're like most people. They don't give a hoot about the health impact of what they're eating. Or they do, and eat the garbage anyway.

    My daughter is 39 years old and has always eaten like everyone here and I have been a vegetarian since 1980 now a raw vegan 80% of the time but still vegetarian. My daughter was diagnosed with a 5 centimeter lump in her breast on to her lymph node cancer. I did not want her to have chemo and radiation but she went anyway. She is not in remission after a year because only 3% have that chance. My neighbor across the wall has Crohn's disease and is getting blood transfusions continuously and needs a bone marrow transplant now. She doesn't have the money. My daughter's stepmother just died of ovarian cancer last month. My mother died of colon cancer, my grandmother died of bone cancer, my aunt died of lung cancer, my girlfriend died of cancer a couple years ago and nearly everyone I know is sick. I got type 1 diabetes at age 55 and I'm now 67 years old. I'm doing very well according to my blood work and I'm at the bottom of the BMI scale nearly going too far so I made some healthy homemade bread. I cannot believe that everyone I know is ill. 4 years ago I lost everyone within a two-block radius of the home I was buying. Only two homeowners remained alive within that 2 block radius. I moved out. This is no joke folks. Either the GMOs, the geoengineering and the sky IE chemtrails or Monsanto or pesticide food is killing everyone. Even as a vegan I'm depressed everyday. I don't have the incentive to do anything. I don't know where everyone in this video resides but at least you have each other to hold on to with your illnesses or the ones are going to get if you don't stop eating the Way You Are. I know firsthand that this is very serious. I live around death everyday and who wouldn't be depressed? I talked to my sister and she is a smoker, I quit in 06, and her voice was so low I thought I was talking to a man. I'm beginning to get a frog in my throat and I don't know why. Take care of everyone and I hope someone will stay on the raw food diet or can't afford to. If I could afford to buy all of the fruits and vegetables needed to be on a raw food diet I would not have to bake the bread. But I use organic flour, chia seeds, organic maple syrup, purified water, of course yeast, and sea salt. Doing the best I can and hope you will too.

    Yes! I went Vegan about 9 months ago. I have 3 terminal illnesses and other health issues. When I started I weighed 303 pounds and I couldn’t even walk through the store. I’ve lost over 80 pounds and no longer take thyroid ,diabetic, cholesterol, or blood pressure medications anymore. Being vegan has improved my health. I can now walk through a store with no problem. Although my terminal illnesses are still very much in full swing. As long as I can I will forever. be vegan. I think that more people need to see the positives in veganism. Eating raw foods makes you feel better. You have more energy and you can change a lot of health issues that you have by doing it. Just change your diet.

    30 days raw vegan isn't that hard, really! I did it cold turkey, but I didn't do it blind. If you fail to have a plan, then plan to fail. You need to know where to shop, what to buy, have recipes and even better a menu plan. Know what detox might feel like and know how to ease the symptoms. Be accountable to someone. And for heaven's sake, buy what you like! If you don't like kale, but you love peaches, guess what you should stock up on? The last tip I have is to do it with excellence. You can't do anything well if you remain ignorant. Learn! Watch videos, follow raw foodists that you gel with, read books like the 80/10/10, get inspired. This will make it fun, interesting, and get you passionate about making every day as great as possible.

    I am fully raw 3 months (and one month prior I was just on a juice fasting). What i like the most is the waking up..it is effortless easy and early, without a need for an alarm. At latest 6am my eyes open and i need just few minutes to be fully fit. Another thing is that I had for years restless leg syndrome which was ruining my life/sleep and it healed after just one month of raw. I smell way less, even by doing workouts or working at my job(cleaning lady in a hotel), i almost don't smell at all and I put on my armpits a bio deodorant. My eyes are whiter and open, my teeths are whiter, my tong is pink..but before going raw this was not the case (my eyes were many times red,tired, my teeths more yellow, my tongue had a white coat. I also don't smell from my mouth in the morning almost at all anymore. My mood improved and I feel more peaceful, I have more love and patience for people and situations. I appreciate the eating time so much more, it actually makes me so freaking happy and grateful for the food on my plate 😊 While before, I would give a damn and was just in need to fill my stomach with something. Not to mention that I was addicted to chips, he was my lunch at least 3 times a week! Fries, ou my god i couldn't not eat them! And also any chocolate was a must after every meal, almost like smoking cigarettes (i am a non smoker but the chocolate felt like I have a similar addiction). I did one colonic, and i have 3 more to go which will get rid of every possible parasite in my colon. And than I am even more exited for the future ☺️ So, whoever is on the way to raw vegan, keep going it is more than worth it! Btw I am 29 year old and happy that I started this journey, it is never too late even when you are 80! The important is to start live your life as well as possible 💟

I stayed raw til 4 hcv foR 6 months, and then I decided to become just vegan, but to this day, raw vegs are a big part of my diet. in the winter, I eat Blueberry apple chia Oatmeal with raw vegs on thé side (R.lettuce, celery, or radishes), and oftentimes in summer, I eat banana chia Nice cream or vegan gains-style apples&cinnamon with guess what? raw vegs on thé side. ive never had this much muscle or energy, never felt better, people stop me on thé street to tell me How fit I look lol. It is really shocking how people really think they can't live or be happy without eating meat. Sad actually. It is sad how little we as humans are educated about what foods we should and shouldn't eat. Great video though. I'm glad you are out teaching!

    Well, I went vegan 2 weeks ago... And I also don't eat eggs or dairy. And I can tell you I have never felt so weak in my life. I'm munching vegetables the entire day, but the hunger never goes away. I'm actually changing my routines to fit the energy I have. I stopped riding my bike to work, cause 25 miles on my bike is just not possible anymore. Most of the day I'm tired. Granted, I look healthy and my digestive track is super... But a man my size can't live on vegetables, I can survive on it... but not really live. And I don't know, maybe for a petite female there is no problem. But I'm a big guy, I get an energy crisis. I'm just about to throw the towel on this vegan thing. Tips are welcome if you have any... But I don't think a vegan life style is for everybody. Some people are bigger and more active and veggies alone don't provide me the calories I need to have an active day.

    You definitely need to make sure that you are getting enough calories, that might be why you are feeling hungry. A big change from not eating dairy in particular, is the change in fat content, which has a high calorie count. It's actually a really good thing to get away from such a lot of fat, but your body might be looking for those calories for a while. Look up the 80-10-10 diet, there is lots of information and recipes on healthier choices of what to eat that might help.

    Claire, Shane's wife! Did you see her face, her skin at the end of the video? WOOOOWWWW! She was glowing. Her face wasn't red and irritated. Clear skin. For me, I am stunned. Maybe because her skin before going vegan looked just like mine. I hope all the participants at least realize that raw veganism is do good for you. Thank you to all of you. I'm inspired to move toward veganism. I want energy like Shane, clear skin like Claire and good gut health like Sam. Shalom to all of you. I hope your vegan/health journey continues.

    I wish these participants had been advised during their 30 days. Most of these participants had the wrong idea about raw veganism. Some of them were severely calorie restricting which is only a short term solution for weight loss. If they resume their typically diet after the 30 days, they will regain the weight, if not more. It was hard to watch these people be improperly advised and not getting the true experience of raw veganism.

    I think it is like, you don’t realize how much you need to eat when you go plant-based or vegan. I would eat like a small bowl of salad and be like, “i’m still hungry.” So I doubled it. That still wasn’t enough. So I tripled it. Now I eat a whole serving bowl of salad that would feed a family of five twice a day. That can seem shocking if you are used to just eating a little side salad. That little bag of carrots and 1 banana, that is not even close to enough for a full meal. That would be a snack to me, and I would still have several tablespoons of nut butter with the banana. That might hold me for a few hours. I think it is too much to just throw people in the deep end like this. It is a great lifestyle if you are aware of how much you need to eat which Dan clearly is not. Maybe he should’ve gotten a job at a grocery store if he didn’t want to spend a ton on groceries. It can get expensive, he is definitely right about that, which I think is the major drawback/downside to raw veganism. Thankfully I have a very supportive partner who helps me with grocery bills and that is the only way I can do this. It is definitely cheaper to just eat what everybody around you is eating as then you don’t have to pay for every single thing you eat. But then the majority of that food is not raw vegan.

    N. S. Although the pharmaceutical industry may overprice product (and possibly exploit customers) it’s ignorant to flat out proclaim that medication is not a cure. And it is also ignorant to say that doctors don’t focus on food when relating illness to overall diet. When you have high blood pressure, you cut out sodium(as a doctor would HIGHLY suggest) but you may also need meds to go alongside your diet change. Without modern medicine, viruses and disease would be much more prominent in our society today. Smallpox doesn’t exist in our world today outside of labs, and the bubonic plague (which killed 1/3 of Europe and many more in later outbreaks ) is easily treatable today. So before you turn a blind eye to doctors and medicine, consider the positives rather than antagonizing a helpful tool we’ve created.

She explained that after awhile, the soul merges with the higher vibration body and the latter didn't have to shut down in sleep to try and make sense out of dead cooked or old processed food. Spiritually, she was one with everyone and everything. I wish she was alive to see the living food movement! Electric food rocks!

    Dana. A big hello from Minnesota home to MOA. Enjoyed watching this challenge. I began my raw food lifestyle some seven years ago. It started out, by detoxing my body through juicing two to three times a day for eight weeks. As time when on I incorporated a more raw food diet to the point I’m at 85% whole food plant based today. 15% cooked, which includes a very small amount of meat. (Yes.... my body tells me about it and I feel lethargic after). I workout four to five days a week with weights. I also work eight hours a day as a skilled tradesmen in the field of a Sheetmetal worker. Eating a whole food plant based diet is a lifestyle. Would love to see a follow up to your guests as well as hearing from you and how well your doing on a raw vegan diet. I’ll be 62 in a couple months.

    Thanks for this, just what I needed to get back into eating raw, I was raw for 8 years when I lived in the Alaska(land of the meat eaters). Will be going with %85 raw this time like the Hallelujah Diet. That was how I got started all those years ago. All raw and lots of fresh made juices, and maybe a potato or bowl of rice and beans for dinner along with big salad first. Simple but it works for me. Putting foods together is no problem for me I was a chef for about 35 years after being a combat soldier for 12 years. Think I will get a dehydrator to make raw tortillas, and crackers, that did look interesting. I will be doing 2 servings of fresh made juice a day along with at least one smoothie, they don't all have to be green either. I do need to drop about 25 or so pounds, I already do Qigong, Thai Chi, and kettle bell workouts along with 3 miles of jogging every day. I am retired now but still work with people using Energy Healing and Acupressure. I am 73 so need to get myself back into shape for when I get to be old guy Have a good one and I will be following you on here.

    Wonderful documentary! You don't have to go 100% raw vegan to benefit from this information, just switching from cooked to raw carrots, broccoli, or whatever veggie you prefer can really help. Small steps. Diet has to be sustainable and a way of life, or else you will just rebound and end up feeling worse than before (ask me how I know LOL). Thanks for sharing. Blessings to all involved.

    Exactly right. People don't need to think in terms of absolutes. I would't know how to feed myself properly if I went even regular vegan 100% from tomorrow. Try replacing some of the meat you would normally eat with veg or try making vegetarian meals. Also, it's important to look forward to meals. They might have a point about enzymes and heating but do I want to eat every meal raw? No way.

    Green bananas are meant to be eaten cooked. If you steam them and put some kind of vegan sauce, you'll like them too. Try it! Of course, they must be steamed til soft, never over steamed because then all the nutrients will be evaporated out.

    so informative, and relatable ... but the challenge is to over come any bumps in the road... and dont break and or crack and stay eating snacks ( berries) which is around year round so keep it up and the energy will stay! and next thing you know 30 days will turn to 90 days then before you know it it will be a full year of veganism ... which can turn into a life time as long as you stay focused ! you got this sis!

He deserve to buy the best nutrient rich foods to fuel the only body he will every have. I understand not wanting to spend hours on preparing meals however you can do better than carrots. just taking the time to spiral zucchini, cut tomatoes, celery can make a big difference.
