RECIPE NOTES & IP SETTINGS

Start IP in saute mode, melt a tbsp of ghee, then fry cashew nut and raisin and set aside. To that add rava, sugar and mix well. Stop saute mode. Then add hot water while stirring the rava sugar mix. Then add cardamom powder, soaked strands.
COVER AND COOK AT MANUAL - LP - 4 MINS - VENT SEALED - KEEP WARM OFF
NOTES
Make sure the rava is roasted. If not it tends to give a gooey texture.
Just before adding sugar, coat the rava (semolina) with a layer of ghee. This also helps avoid sticking to each other.
Don't forget to heat water / milk before adding to the rava. This is very important to get even textured kesari.
Adjust water/ milk and sugar according to personal preference.

    Does not work. I have tried it twice. Every time as soon as water is added, rava absorbs water as it cooks and pressure is never achieved. Instant pot gives "Burn" warning.

    Hi I am sorry to hear that. I never got burn warning. This is the only way I make kesari now. May be these tricks will help 1. Switch off as soon as you add rava (semolina), so that the pot isn't too hot. 2. May be try with cold water instead (I used hot water to avoid lumps) 3. Also add little more water to help the steam build. Thanks for attempting twice. Do try once again with the mentioned notes.
