I describe the meaning of ratio and proportion. I show a number of examples of proportions (a special type of equation), as well as several equations that are similar to proportions. I solve 14 equations in all. (You should be familiar with solving algebraic equations that do not contain fractions, and it is helpful if you already have some idea of how to clear an equation of fractions.)
