honestly, the part where Varuca Salt falls to her death was by far the most brutal of them all. because of just how sheer real it is. the physics, the weight, accidents like that absolutely can happen, and there's just something raw in that moment that felt so eerie. Edit: to save time having to explain my point: i'm not saying that Varuca's death was *the* worst, but perhaps the most realistic i should've said. the other kids suffered scary fates, but Varuca's stuck out more because of how real it felt, and how it has happened in real life more often than not.

A friend of mine lost a workmate falling into a fucking chrome plating vat. Electrocuted, Boiled AND chrome plated all at the same time. Nightmare stuff. (Actually Im not sure he ended up chrome plated, but the imagination runs wild on this one)

Lucky for him, he came to him, rather than continuing his work, because the moment he stepped under the roof, where the other guy was standing and the explosion blew out all windows! Glas shards shot across the entire property and even across the street to the railway station. If it was a little earlier, then an entire school class would have walked that path! The funny thing is that the builders of the company knew that it was a rather dangerous business and thus searched for a remote place and bought lots of land and had a railway track built for them. 100 years later, it became town around the 5 chemical companies that had settled there... Thus, the population had been endangered multiple times, due to fire, explosions, and leaked chemicals. The company was also responsible for accidentally poisoning the groundwater and it´s still colored like urine in the morning! The population doesn´t even know it as they get water from the tab, but all the edible plants that they are growing will be contaminated. I´m genuinely surprised that it never got discussed in the media. They mentioned the leak, but not the consequences... Whoever was the city planner should have been shot. Also, the CEO of my former company should be in prison for fraud, malpractice and all sorts of other things.
