Gareth Southgate talks through his provisional England squad for Euro 2024 as Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford and Jordan Henderson are all left out. Southgate also reveals he did not even bother contacting Arsenal's Ben White regarding possible selection.

06:41 - Different leadership group?: We have so many people that lead, we have too many good influences on the pitch.
07:39 - Dier: He’s played very well at Bayern. We just think he’s behind the other guys we’ve selected.
08:20 - Foden and Gordon: Anthony missed the last game with an injury. Key with Phil is where he ends up, not his starting position.
09:48 - How many injuries in the squad?: There’s a significant number and we have an important physical challenge.
10:37 - Worst you’ve had it?: We’ve never had so many unknowns. The key is making the best possible decisions.
11:14 - Keeping everyone until after Iceland game?: I couldn’t possibly answer that. I always like to give players as much clarity.
11:45 - Did you speak to Ben White?: No. I understand he’s not available.
12:10 - What situation do you want to avoid in Germany?: We need flexibility. There’s a young generation of players that have that.
13:32 - Important to build a strong group before a squad?: The players have loads of experiences together. 10 men in Naples for example is one thing that has helped us grow. Doesn’t matter what we’ve done in the past.
14:37 - Interesting reaction from players?: I haven’t spoken to the ones I’ve included, the priority was the ones left out.
15:14 - How does this squad compare to others?: There’s more options in the attacking areas. I think that’s hard to compare and contrast.
16:29 - Less reliance on Kane?: Not just Kane but Sterling as well. We’ve shared that load around. We need those options. To go the distance you need good depth.
17:27 - Can this squad win the Euros?: I’d be an idiot if I say no, but if I say yes then there wouldn’t be a lot of work. Arsenal and City were two of the three best teams in the champions league but it only takes one moment.
19:07 - Why are teams getting so many injuries? Feel cheated?: We don’t control a lot of the things we pick up. The injuries is a very complex thing, it could be an accumulation of areas.

Why are players in other leagues lile Ruben Loftus Cheek, Eric Dier being ignored? You can't tell me Lewis Dunk is a much better player than Dier. RLC has been one of Milan's best players. There is a strong Premier League bias. Grealish has hardly played over an in-form Sancho

I called it just over a month ago, when people were claiming that Rashford is Southgate's favourite player and that he always picks him because he often plays well for England: "Apart from costing us Euro 2020, what exactly has Rashford done for England?" "Rashford has been poor for most of the last seven years and particularly awful since March of last year and is getting worse!" "People have got the impression that Southgate loves Rashford so much that he always starts him but that just isn't true." "Yes, he's nearly always put him in the squad but in the four major tournaments Rashford's been to, he's only started two games in total (one of those was a dead rubber) and he's only started six England games since October 2020!" "I really don't think Southgate will take him if everyone is fit."

What has Southgate done to have this much ego? He can’t wind his neck in and give Ben white a chance? I get that Walker is ahead of him but Ben white is clear second and the fact that there isn’t a single left back available how could you not at least include Ben white and shift a left footed player at left back or use white as a back up! Southgate will not win the euros guaranteed and I hope he gets replaced by someone much better
