John Denver sings "When I'm 64" on a visit to our Iowa Farmhouse a year before the song he wrote, "Leaving on a Jet Plane" , becomes a big hit for Peter Paul and Mary

His playing is really on the mark, what a guitarist not to mention his vocal ability, great !
He was a true gem!!! Will always love him!
I loved John Denver almost my entire life never saw this before, it was not Annie. Have been a fan forever!!! He died too young at 53. I just discovered him again in the last few years, l am now 74, was born and raised in Colorado. I know he made his home in Aspen when he stopped traveling all over the world. Flew his own plane, then crashed off the California coast, his ashes are scattered near his former home in Aspen , l have every cd he made, even the last one "All Aboard". Saw him once in fort Collins, Colorado at the old CSU stadium! Thank you for sending them to my address. Linda
In this home movie you can hear the energy and joie de vivre that made John such a household word in the 70s.
Just so sad he didn't make to 64 !!
Thank you! Candid John before the fame-a rare glimpse.
I definitely agree. John is a huge part of our culture.

My Pilot Friend John Denver Is A Big Fan Of The Beatles
I am 80 now and he makes me feel 64 again! Haha. It's weird that age I loved his music and still do.

I'm so sorry about your husband.
Far out! So if it this audio and clip are from a year before Peter, Paul and Mary's hit with "Jetplane" (1967)... This is from 1966? Cool seeing him he was so young. That is not Annie... But if this was 1966... They only met in spring... And weren't an item till later that year...
call me crazy but does anybody have a Vibe here of almost like a John Sebastian kind of feel to this?? maybe it's just me and my little twisted world

Did not know him.
Don't worry, when I turn sixty-four, I still can cook at least one meal every day for at least two people. Call me lucky and call be blessed then. At that time, Emma Watson my love will be thankful that I urged her to be with me today. --- The Ninth of September, Two Thousand and Sixteen.
