The man playing Paul's grandfather was actually a big star in his own right at the time. His name was Wilfrid Brambell, an Irish actor known for playing the rag and bone character Albert Steptoe from the show 'Steptoe & Son'. The show in particular was later remade in the US under the name 'Sanford & Son'.

Ringo realized that he was in considerable danger as he heard the sound of the safety on a revolver switch off underneath Paul’s coat. He promptly got up and ran out of the room as fast as he switched from sentence into laughter. As he ran down the hallway, he heard Paul leaving no witnesses. Ringo heard a bullet zip past him as he dodged out of the train. He ran into the nearby woods, hoping to be able to hide out until Paul left. But Paul spotted him and narrowly missed his head. Ringo’s luck gave out when he rolled his ankle and fell into a ditch. Ringo stared in horror as Paul prepared to finish the job. The fiery wreck that became of the train(Paul presumably killed the conductor and everyone else on board) was investigated the next day, but Ringo and Paul were never found.

This movie is 58 years old in 2022 and it still looks fresh as a daisy. The Fab Four all look so young and beautiful. I was a big Beatles fan in high school but in 1964 I was only 6 years old when A Hard Day’s Night came out. So I didn’t first see it until I was in my teens in the 70s and by that time they had already broken up. I never get tired of watching HDN, it’s one of my favorite movies and I think it’s the best of all the Beatles movies they did. Help! was good too but not as good as their first feature film.
