Comfortably numb from this concert is brutal too
That’s Jimi Hendrix’s personal guitar strap that David Gilmour is wearing in this. He treasures it, and has used it for years. Not only is Gilmour one of the GOATs on guitar, but his voice is mesmerizing. Legend

If you haven't already seen it, Comfortably Numb live at Pulse is the best guitar solo and live song I've ever seen. A truly out of body experience. Wish I was there. 😜

You don't get the crazy shredding from gilmour, but the way he rides, bends and transitions all the notes is so masterfully done, it's always beautiful to listen to.
"And then one day you'll find 10 years have gotten behind you, no one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun..." I love every part of this song but it makes me melancholy every time I hear it played...
As great as this version is, like others, I suggest 'Comfortably Numb' from the 1994 Pulse concert, as well as 'Sorrow.' Both have amazing guitar solos. The Pulse concert also features three of the four members of Pink Floyd (Roger Waters had left by that time, but Nick Mason and Richard Wright are still there in the Pulse shows). Side note: I was fortunate to see David Gilmour on this tour from 2016, in Chicago. It was an amazing show.
If the final ends up gilmour vs lifeson the two songs you guys gotta hear are comfortably numb live off of pulse by pink Floyd and Jacobs ladder live off of exit stage left by rush. Also just a kind of interesting story involving gilmour. I got to meet Danny Carey from tool once and I asked him if he ever got to see Floyd live. He was kind of surprised by the question but he said that he got to see them twice and that in his opinion David gilmour has the best live guitar tone/sound he's ever heard.
As much as I love Led Zepp David Gilmore is on another level. Probably one of my top 3 guitarists.
David Gilmour is supernatural!
70 years old and doesn't miss a beat. He's a God among gods
The way I describe DARK SIDE is "spacious". I love that the first song is titled "Breathe" because that's exactly what it feels like; like the music is given space to breathe so you get naturally absorbed into it.
Got to do Echos pt. 1 and 2, live from Pompeii, fucking EPIC!!!!

Echoes is not very well known but it needs more attention even if you only listen to part 1 which is a great example of guitar skills

Oh god yes, I saw it as London Planetarium in late 80’s (as a teenager). It was epic….one of my college friends crashed driving into Paris with DSOTM on the ‘cassette deck’…playing Money. This album is always special & timeless
Pink Floyd got their name from a couple of obscured bluesmen named Pink Anderson and Floyd Council...
David Gilmore simply changed the dynamic of Pink Floyd....then they way truly born. Epic Band! Great show again gents.💯👊🏻😎👍🏻 Bless🙏🏻❤
My mom took me to see Pink Floyd when I was 8, I'm 43 now, and it was a blessing And a curse cause I have seen about a dozen concerts since and None have compared to that Pink Floyd concert:/
🦋 This Is Absolutely an Amazing Song! Pink Floyd Has So Many Timeless Songs... ''Long you live and high you’ll fly, and smiles you’ll give, tears you’ll cry and all you touch and all you see is all your life will ever be.”- Pink Floyd Awesome Reaction Guys! Looking Forward to What's Next. Keep Em' Comin'❣ 🎶🤘😏🎶
If Gilmour moves on you 100% have to do Comfortably Numb Pulse Live. It's made for championships.
Sir David gilmour is the greatest guitarist of all time and even the best artist ever
One of my fav songs!!! Kool!! Loved y'alls reaction!!! Great video!!!!
I saw Pink Floyd in 94 on The Division Bell tour and I have to say that out of the countless shows I've been to, I wouldn't even classify it as a concert......it was most certainly an event! 🤘🏼💙🤘🏼
I had a group of friends who would meet to smoke after dinner in high school n one always had to have this song playing when he took his first hit n he had it perfectly timed n he would wait till the music kicked in to blow out the smoke. It was like those old Tony only dances to pony videos
Let’s all be thankful that we have the access to all the great music left from so many great musicians sings and bands.👍
I met David Gilmour in 1984 back stage at a concert in Hollywood Calif. He gave me a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shook both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well, better than any other guitarist I know, and I know all the great ones.
You’re comparing a Led Zeppelin performance in their prime against a 70 year old David Gilmour performance. Original or 1994 Pulse version would have been better comparison.

Great reaction !
listen to "comfortably numb" from their live pulse concert 1994 and the guitarist competition is over.
David Gilmour all day long. 'Comfortably Numb' live Pulse concert will make you slap every other guitarist still in the running, mama. It is a must!
Okay, that settles it. You guys are my favorite react channel :P
Love the reactions you guys post! Especially with Floyd/Gilmour. You both are clearly into it but H6 here is like a kid in a candy store. Love it!!
Perfect stoner song 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 How ya going guys ? Love ya reactions it’s like chilling with the mates while I’m blazing 👊🏻👍🔥
The spear is definitely his finisher, superman punch is his signature move. +The wrestler who did the heart punch was called Crush (Brian Adams), but what's kinda similar to it is Umaga's Samoan Spike which was a thumb to the throat
Gilmour never gets old
It was great growing up with groups that wrote their own music, played their own instruments and performed their own songs.
Yes....if I were to request a Pink Floyd song...it would be this one!
My older rock drummer brother took me to see the DSOTM concert when I was 5. I totally got the Floyd vibe then and never lost it.
Pink Floyd was named by Syd Barrett one of the bands founding members who left the band in 1968 due to mental illness. Barrett named the band after two great pioneers of the blues first name. They are Pinkney “Pink” Anderson and Floyd Council. Hence the name “Pink Floyd”. Pink Anderson performing “Thousand Woman Blues”. You should give any live version of Steve Vai a listen to, in particular 'Tender Surrender' (viewed over 50 million times), 'Whispering a Prayer' or 'For the Love of God'. You won't be disappointed, all the best from the far north of New Zealand.
Another solid reaction lads 👍❤️🤘 Although - Imma keep on politely asking you guys to please react to KARNIVOOL - SIMPLE BOY, until I see it come up in my feed.
Love it! Absolutely my favorite by Pink Floyd and all time favorite over ALL songs and bands!

Frank Williams and the Hot Dogs.absolutely brilliant, been a fan since the 60s, the use of electric machinery bringing music to trip by to a whole new level.
If you notice, the breakdown of the song calls back to the previous track Breathe, creating a motif for the album. It goes back to that riff throughout the album at various points.
Great video 👍
I agree with the others; you need to see the version from Pulse concert in 1994. Also suggest “Sorrow”…”High Hopes”…and “Comfortably Numb” from that concert. That being said, Floyd & Zep are different styles so it’s hard to say which is “better.”
This is a great song... only thing I would have changed for this comparison/competition is that I would have kept the music videos from the same Era. But still phenomenal.
About damn TIME
I was at the 1994 Pink Floyd concert where they played Dark Side of the Moon in it’s entirety for the first time since the 70s tour. IT WAS UNEXPECTED AND AMAZING. We were like wait, is this really happening! The only sad part was that was after Roger Waters left the band. But later on I got to see Roger’s DSOTM tour where he played the whole album too. So technically I’ve seen all of Pink Floyd perform Dark Side even if it wasn’t all at the same time.
It's been said that David Gilmour doesn't use an amplifier... He plugs his guitar straight into your soul.

Pink floyd and slipknot are my favorites, I love that you love them both also. Love your reactions!!!!
one of my favorite lyrics from any song is in this one. Then one day you'll find, ten years have got behind you missed the starting gun, no one told you when to run it's a lyric so powerful it's the stuff of nightmare... Haunted me in my twenties, i thought about it nonstop, i didn't want life to pass me by
Pink Floyd - On the turning away (Live remastered 2019)
I think it should be a live performance with epic guitar for each of the final artist. Just to honor the finally and talent from both artist for sure!
Love it guys !! The Outlaws, Green Grass and High Tides, guitar army ❤️😎
The Heart Punch was the finisher of Ox Baker, and later used famously by Mean Mark Callous in WCW before he went to WWF and became The Undertaker.
David Gilmour is one of favorite guitar players along with Alex Lifeson, so i'm hoping for that to be the finals. For Alex Lifeson, you have to do "Working Man" Live in Cleveland and for David Gilmour it has to be Comfortably Numb from the pulse concert. This will be epic.
There are so many brilliant guitarists , so many polls , lists etc , it depends what you are looking for in a guitarist. But David Gilmour is my favourite . But regular top 10s in most respected music/guitar sites/magazines usually are Hendrix, Clapton, Page, SRV, Gilmour, Moore, Eddie VH, Blackmore, Jeff Beck , May , Knopfler etc. Alex Lifeson usually in top 25
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you’re older - that hits hard
omg that guitar sound goes directly into your central nerve system
Bruce Lee used to do the power punch in the solar plexus that was alleged to be able to stop somebody's heart. Legends of my childhood in the 70s and 80s.
I really like "The Trial", the end of The Wall, but to truly appreciate it, you have to listen to the entire double album.
Gilmour is the G.O.A.T
My great Uncle Buford Jones who's world famous sound engineer worked on the momentary lapse of reason album & delicate sound of thunder live album. I have a pic of him with David Gilmore in the studio in 87. I was a year old lol
I grew up with Pink Floyd thanks to my mom, I love this band. Comfortably numb( pulse tour) echoes (live Pompeii) Echoes is a old not well known song but really shows of David Gilmore guitar skills
Just was listening to "Dogs" on the Animals album. Gonna listen to a live "The Wall" in a bit, but right now I got a little time.
Pink Floyd IS The Greatest Band Ever and Dark Side of the Moon is the Greatest album ever recorded, it's a masterpiece. I've seen Pink Floyd three times, the first was The Wall at the LA Sports Arena, 2/7/1980 in "Quadraphonic Sound". THEY ACTUALLY HAD AN AIRPLANE FLY FROM THE BACK OF THE ARENA, OVER THE CROWD AND CRASH INTO THE STAGE! The Second two times was the Pulse tour at the Rose Bowl 4/17/1994 and 4/18. I've seen Roger on his solo tours four times and Dave on five of his. I've seen the Aussie Floyd seven times and been blessed to be able afford seats in the first 20 rows for all of shows mentioned.
Do pulse comfortably numb or this show comfortably numb. Both are just a great but also completely different. Page is great but IMO not at Gilmours level
Favorite song by pink floyd
Jimmy Hendrix put blues on the map. Which quickly turned into what we were know call rock and roll. Listens to purple hays voodoo child little wing. The list good on even his rendition of the star spangled banner is so heavily psychedelic. Hendricks Mark on music is perhaps more influential then any other modern day musician. He created such a different sound. Plus he is almost impossible to duplicate.
React to comfortably numb live at pulse
Comfortably Numb Pulse Live is absolutely phenomenal. React to it next please!!!!!!!!!
When are y’all going to get to some SRV, GOTTA start with something from ‘Live at El Macambo’ - preferably “Texas Flood”, “Lenny”, or “Little Wing”…:)
Shine on you crazy diamond
Pink Floyd is named after two blues guitarist. Pink Anderson and Floyd Council
As much as I like Rush...I would not put Alex L. in the same category as Jimmy Page and David Gilmour...this right here is the real FINAL!!!!👍🏼🎸

If we're going to be real. It should be page and Hendrix. Both changed rock music. I don't find Alex Lifeson or Gilmore particularly blusy
Pink Floyd were the house underground band in the mid to late 60s in London. Pretty much created the psychedelic, or at least brought it to life. With Syd Barrett leading the band and experimentation
Syd Barrett named the band Pink Floyd after his 2 favorite delta bluesmen..... Pink Anderson and Floyd Council.
Also dont forget thats a 70 plus man up thereon that stage making the magic
Ya'll need to check out the short documentary 'It might get loud", has Page, The Edge, and Jack White talking about how they got into guitar. All different styles and generation. Know it's too late for this contest, but an amazing watch!
I hope to see that yall would do a drummers tournament and if yall do I think that you should do their solos to showcase their skills.
I saw Pink Floyd in Cleveland Ohio at Cleveland Indians Stadium. Unbelievable experience they blew up giant pig balloons with glowing eys and floated them across the stadium and a plane flew across the stadium and exploded behind the stage .
Even if Gilmour does not win ( which he should) you still gotta react to comfortably numb pulse concert. Greatest guitar solo of all time
reaction at 6:38... you're welcome technically this was not a Pink Floyd concert, It is billed as David Gilmour. None of his PF bandmates were there. David Gilmour has a library of solo work but in his shows he incorporates PF music. Voting on who is the best guitarist is futile. Those of us who grew up on this music don't look at it that way, we may have our favorites that may or may not change with time but we just admire their unique talents and sound and their contribution to rock music.
Y'all should really check out David Gilmour live in Pompeii 2016 high hopes... Promise you will absolutely love the electric slide guitar solo.
Pink Floyd and Gilmoure always No.1 for me.
You mentioned Alex Lifeson and today, 8/27, is his Bday!!
You thinking of Umaga doing the Samoan Spike? Thumb strike to the throat

We can't forget Randy Rhodes as much as we do. His time was so short. When the guitar conversation comes up and you remind people of Randy they all react the same." Oh yeah, he's one of the greatest ever, I forgot"
I love both, they do their own thing and give pleasure. I listen to the music I'm in the mood for, sometimes Gilmour, sometimes Page. Especially sometimes Joni Mitchell ;)
Check out the pulse live version of this song. Nick Mason’s drum sticks and kit glow in the dark and he spins one of his drum pads while playing it. Neither mason or wright are playing on this version.
I would react to either Pulse's Comfortably Numb or High Hopes for a classic Gilmour solo.......One vote for Floyd Friday's right here!! You can start with Echoes Parts l & ll Live in Pompeii(1972 the Original) and thank me later
The Iron Sheik did the heart punch
Actually this is David Gilmour solo. Not Floyd. Still very awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for this ! You guys are awesome !!!!!
Could you react to Roger waters - Pigs Live at mexico city? It was a free show on The Zocalo, Mexico's city main square
as you mention this being rapped over- beastie boys sampled at least one note of this tune for "looking down the barrel of a gun" ;)
You have to do "Hurt", a song written by Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails, , Johnny Cash did this cover Trent Commented "This not my song anymore" after hearing it. Powerful Performance and Lyrics
Both progressive Rock. Both play with great passion.
