One of the of the many things I like most about Linkin Park's music is the fact that they did Metal, rap, hip-hop, scratching, melodic and everything in between.

Mike's just recently said he's got new stuff coming, and this time back to the roots, and that LP fans will probably like it. Really exciting news imo, but I wonder if Mike will collab with some other singer(s), or if he'll do all vocals

Favourite band of all time. My first contact with (real) music; when dad brought home a Hybrid Theory album 20+ years ago. I was just a kid back then, but I NEVER stopped listening to LP, and it's the only band ever that I never get bored of. Chester is the GOAT. Cheers from Croatia!

You guys should check out some of Mike Shinoda's solo stuff he's put out since Chester's passing. The first album he did since then was called Post Traumatic, and it's dealing with the loss of his best friend, and the emotions he was feeling when he started working on music again. Good ones to check out are "Over Again," "Crossing the Line," "I.O.U.," and DEFINITELY "What the Words Meant." That last one hits the feels HARD though. So go into that one prepared.

Comparing Linkin Park and Slipknot is pretty rough. Nu Metal wouldn't be what it is today without Linkin Park (a couple of other bands, too, of course), and that's just a fact. Don't get me wrong, Slipknot is massive (maybe *currently* the biggest thing in the scene), but I think Linkin Park at their peak had such mass appeal that they dwarfed anyone else in the genre.

Although in the last album, it was kinda sad Because in the last album you could hear Chester was screaming for help with the most melodic voice. This band's music has always helped me. When times are tough and when times are great. 😊😊❤❤

Mike Shinorda (Rapper, 2nd vocalist, Rhyme guitar, keyboard, piano)/Brad Delson (lead guitarist) them two produced LP music, Mike/Chester wrote the songs and then Brad got more involved with the writing in their last album, Dave "Phoenix" Farrell does bass, Rob Bourdon is the drummer, Mike/Joe Hahn (DJ, turntables) came up with the art ideas for their albums, Joe also directed majority of their music videos, Mike came up with the set designs on how they wanted the stages to be on tour, he also did the band merchandise and created their web design. But before making any final decisions on anything, they always make sure everyone else in the band is on board. They do EVERYTHING that THEY WANTED to do they did it by their own rules. They never really claimed themselves as nu/metal they always thought of themselves as a wild card, loved expermenting, and making music that has meaning and people can relate the message to wheather its on a personal level or whats going on in the world. Chester has always been open on how he loved different styles/genres of music (all different types of rock genres, grunge, electronic, some pop but not the bubblegum type pop like Britney Spears more of the pop rock/melodic type, rap, folk, he even wanted to do a reggae style album in the future lol, acoustics, acapella he even wanted to do an "unplugged album" with some of their old music). They have always been open and honest on what they were going to do so they wouldn't mislead anyone. They have never been tied down to just ONE genre heck thats how the name "Hybrid" got created cause they didn't want to be just ONE thing and being limited. They ALWAYS wanted to grow and evolve with their music its part of growing up. The more they got older, the more they weren't angsty teens anymore. They got married and had kids and started writing about adult issues and things going on in the world. They were not like other bands. Never have they've always been unique. They did things that THEY wanted to do and not what others wanted them to be. The label tried doing that to them with their first 1st album and wanted them to keep doing the same thing as before, and thats not what they wanted. So, they broke out of that very quickly, the label backed off of them during Meteora and let them do things their own way by doing it independently with just a little bit of guidance from Rick Ruben. If anything, "Linkin Park" is its own genre. They were a very special different kind of band 💜

YES SIR!! The banger from Hybrid Theory, it was the opener to in my opinion one of the best DEBUT albums for a band in their career 🤘🏻 Man I miss these guys, but the music lives on, forever legendary, we miss you Chester Bennington 🌹 may you rest in peace 🙏🏻 DJ/Turntables = Joseph Han AKA MR HAN 🔥🔥 According to the band, Papercut metaphorically… the feeling of paranoia and the theme of the song and video is based on fear

When Chester showed up for this music video he had a jacket that matched his pants he is wearing in this music video. Chester went hard with his rock look during this time. He was always changing his hair style and color. Mike changed his hair color but no where as often as Chester. In their first music video he had bright red hair then in the music video for Crawling he had blue hair and in this music video he had dark blue hair with 3 small red stripes in the front of his hair.

Excellent song 🤘🏼💕💫… the whole album is fire, I’m sure you already know that. It’s crazy that you’re doing this today for me personally its the anniversary of the day I got introduced to Linkin Park… sadly also the anniversary of 9/11… none of us will forget that day, but the way I found out about it, I had just woken up and had no idea, and my roommate came screeching into the driveway with Linkin Park blasting from her stereo… she walked in, and I handed her a cup of coffee, and I was all about that music, demanding to know who it was… but then her face said it all, she was in tears and she just went to the TV and turned it on and then of course everything changed… she turned it on just in time for us to see the second plane hit the tower live, I’ll never forget that feeling, that physical, deep, utterly broken heart that creeps into your whole body…. we just sat there and cried together the whole day, she told me about Linkin Park later, and I of course fell in love with them… they were such an incredible talent and a breath of fresh air at the time… life is so weird, for me one of the greatest bands ever is forever linked to 9/11 and suicide, oh well I guess… Today is my friend Ms birthday, she was in the city on that day, traumatized and there’s not much else to say about that except for happy birthday my sweet friend! I always make sure to spoil her for her birthday, no matter what. My other friend H, who I met in 2004 was supposed to be on flight 93 that day. I worked with her in an emergency room, she’s a doctor and an amazing soul, her parents live in New York and she was there visiting supposed to fly home to Denver that day, when her dad went to wake her up to go to the airport, she just didn’t feel like going, she wanted to sleep more and take a later flight… I know she still carries some survivors guilt with her and I just wanna say I’m so glad you weren’t on that flight My dear friend, you weren’t meant to be there, none of them were! RIP to of all the souls we lost that day and big hugs to all the heroes and heroic acts that came of it. ✌❤🤍💙

The symbolism I see regarding the name of the song name: a little thing that can happen all of a sudden from something rather inoffensive (or out of nowhere basically) that can hurt and turn your mood around, so you'll always have that fear when things are good that around the corner something bad is about to happen. It's like the Yin-Yang symbol, everything is cyclic. Paranoia.

Late to the party here, but I got the idea that mental health issues are a kind of internal pressure that, if given a tiny poke or slit, can burst through and tear you up more than expected. Trauma is sometimes accidental, or unassuming, seemingly harmless at first, but the reaction may be delayed and volatile. A papercut hardly hurts at first. In fact, you might not even see it for several seconds. Then it eventually turns reddish. After like 10 seconds, you look and see blood. Suddenly it stings real badly, and throbs in pain. You think paper is so small and harmless; there's next to no force exerted, but humans are so full of stuff. There's so much internal pressure, that the body's defense mechanism-the blood rushing up trying to heal-is tearing the skin open from the inside.

The thing with Linkin Park is that the first 2 albums are really the only ones you could throw in the nu metal category, it was really just Hybrid Theory that was honestly. Their sound changed with each album over time so you you can't really keep them in any one genre.

If Chester had not took his own life, LP would probably still be making music and OWNING the stage... LP had the best live audiences and shows I've ever been to.. #RIP to an absolute legend, gone too soon...

Y'all should check out Dangerkids! They only dropped 2 albums but they are heavily influenced by Linkin Park.

One of my favourite bands that I unfortunately never got to see live. Could you react to Bullet for my Valentine - Don't Need You. We Want A Battle (Here's A War) or No More Tears To Cry. A Metal band from South Wales, UK. One of many bands from where I'm from.

One of their greatest of course! As a hardcore fan, I can't say there's a LP's song I really don't like, some of my favourites (that I think you haven't reacted to yet) are Reading my eyes (live version!), The Catalyst, Waiting for the end, Powerless, With you, Talking to myself, Pushing me away, Rebellion...

Slipknot the biggest “Nu metal “ out the two but Linkin Park is the bigger artist and eventually evolved into their own genre

From Ashes to New early years is as close to Linkin Park sound, they have done a few Linkin Park covers like Faint, Heavy/papercut, In The End, their own song My Name is in the style of Linkin Park, check out their other songs, including ones off their new Album Blackout
