From what I understand, MTV planned a lot of these "Mash-Up" concerts/cd/dvd releases. But when this came out it put all the works in progress to shame and they knew then and there that they couldn't even come close to matching it, so they gave up the projects. That's kind of what happens when you have people in studio who know exactly what they're doing. Credit goes out to Mike Shinoda for him being able to merge the two so flawlessly. There are big beat changes and tempo changes that it sounds so good, you really don't even notice them. Keep up the great work guys!

Jay-Z's debut dropped in 96. Linkin Park's debut, Hybrid Theory dropped in 2000. The EP was recorded from MTV around 2003. Think between Meteora and Minutes to Midnight.

Linkin Park and Jay-Z collaborated on the EP called “Collision Course” where this song comes from and where most of the vocals were re-recorded. They performed this show, the Grammys, and a couple festivals. The initial idea came from MTV who were making a mash up show and Jay-Z picked Linkin Park. RIP Chester!

Y'all should definitely react to Dirt Off Your Shoulder/Lying From You (1st song off the set where Jay Z comes onstage) and Points of Authority/99 Problems /One Step Closer(last song off the set). Those two songs along with this one are all three straight bangers, not that the whole set wasn't fire but those three songs are head and shoulders above the rest.

Linkin Park and Korn are friends. In 2002 Chester recorded a song for the movie Queen of the Damned soundtrack called System. Jonathan Davis wrote the songs for the movie but couldn't sing on the soundtrack because of his record label. So he asked some of his friends to sing the songs for him. Jonathan Davis was also on the reanimation album which is the remix to Hybrid Theory. He did a remix of the song One Step Closer called 1stp Klosr. In 2017 Jonathan Davis sang in the tribute show for Chester. He sang the song One Step Closer with 2 members of Dead By Sunrise (Chester second band to Linkin Park).

You guys have taken the words right out of my mouth. I swear that is exactly what I have been saying when it comes to Linkin Park. Korn introduced me to nu-metal, but Linkin Park took that love a step further and then blew my mind away with how they changed the whole game. It's hard for me to give just one favorite LP song. Each song has a different meaning for me and therefore different reasons why I love them. I love FTL by Korn, that was my intro and has All In The Family which is a funny song to me, but I like the flows on it. I still listen to Korn to this day, but LP took over as my all time favorite.

I was talking about this song with a friend recently. I believe “Numb/Encore” is the greatest Rap Rock song of all time. Technically, it’s not really even a mash-up. Jay-Z re-recorded Encore vocals for this session and then Mike Shinoda produced an entirely new version of Numb to fit around Jay’s vocals. It blew my mind when I read that.

Yeah I still have the original CD/DVD album/video combo thing and watching them in the studio back in the day was mind blowing. MTV asked Jay Z who he wanted to work with before and he specifically chose Linkin Park for this whole thing and MTV set it all up. It turned out to arguably be the greatest mashup/crossover album of all time consisting of some of the greatest musicians of our time. RIP Chester 😭

Want to react to a band that has defined an Era, Linkin Park is that band, but you have to dedicate at least a month or 6 to get to their best, but honestly, I don't think they ever really had a bad song. They were a group of young guys who 20 years ago managed to have control over their music and songs, who were singned to a big label, WBM. They have refined their genre as they wanted to stretch their creativity in every direction. Five very smart LA boys, and another very intelligent one from Arizona, being Chester, (he might have not granted from collage, but he was a very smart) changed the music scene. I don't think there is a country where people don't know and love them.

just a slight criticism. so, "symphonic" usually means or relates to like, an epic piece of classical music. honestly, as long as you're still calling them nu-metal, if you wanted to say "melodic", maybe, if that means anything in the context. but, definitely NOT symphonic.

Watch this:kzread.info/dash/bejne/dpykr9KOZrGdZdI.html The performance of "Numb" at the 2017 Concert To Celebrate the life of Chester Bennington. Right in the feels. Most emotional tribute I've ever seen.
