You're right. Tobias is always Papa but there is a new variant for each album cycle.

It's a cover of Roky Ericksson . The ghosts he refers to is his imaginary friends in his head. He was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia.

I watched a documentary on Roky Erickson, pretty interesting. Love Ghosts cover of his song!

Dave Grohl was the producer and did all the drumming on the whole ep!!! probably mt favorite song from Ghost!!!

Saw Ghost when Papa performed this song, and it was super quiet and intimate.. super charismatic with the audience. He monologued before the song as well. Love all your Ghost reactions!

Now you've heard the studio version, please look out for the acoustic live version from 'HardDrive Online', in your own time... it's wonderful, along with the spellbinding 'Jigolo Har Meggido' from the same session. 'If You Have Ghosts' was written by Roky Erickson (I think) about schizophrenia... it speaks to the alienated. As does Ghost in general. For two completely different vibes on Ghost, try the beautiful 'Life Eternal' set to fan footage from Palacio de los Sportes, Mexico, or the heavy 'Faith', set to concert footage from A Pale Tour Named Death. Both are studio versions, however. For something even heavier, try 'Mummy Dust'.

Go see the Ghost movie when it comes out. There will be a live version of this song done w/ a string quartet - I saw it live and it was so good.

Roky was one of the early driving forces in psychedelic rock, but as has been mentioned, he suffered from schizophrenia. You guys should really check out two headed dog.

I know y'all have heard right in two by tool but have y'all seen the video? I don't know if it official or fan made but it fits the song perfectly and if y'all watch it prepare to go on a trip it is amazing!! If y'all have done It i apologize but I can't find that y'all did

You guys should so an all-inclusive Ghost run the way you did Tool! Roky (Rocky) Ericsson’s original version is arranged a bit differently, whereas Ghosts’ cover is more melodic. It’d be interesting to watch you guys hear the evolution of the band from Opus Eponymous thru Impera.

You guys need to check out the new EP called “Sessanta E.P.P.P.”, it is a collection of 3 songs featuring Maynard James Keenan. The songs are played by A Perfect Circle, Puscifer, and Primus.

@@mattjohn4731 I know. Whether it's an original or a cover, I don't like Ghost. I think they are completely overrated and I do not understand the hype. I've given them several chances. Funny thing is I like some of the same music that has clearly influenced this band. '80s metal and hair metal ,'70s psychedelic & prog, punk, goth, New Wave, etc. But their blend of that music is not pleasing to me. The fact that Dave grohl produces cover is beyond me but whatever.
