There's a lot better than AM songs

The album this song came off of "A.M" is full of classic songs like this, If you want to check out more from the album, "Fireside" and "Arabella" are my personal favourites. Fireside is a bit melancholy, Arabella is straight up rock and roll in the best way possible.

Favourite Worst Nightmare is one of the best albums of all time IMO. So many amazing songs: "If You Were There, Beware" is a masterpiece. "505" is a classic anthem. "Do Me A Favour" is incredible. Every song is great in its own way. Work your way through this album, you won't be disappointed...

Also check out “Why’d you only call me when you’re high” , “Are you mine” and “Flourescent Adolescent” “Do I wanna Know” has a hypnotic music video that my kids love but is not so appropriate.😗)

Wiki says that Artic Monkey is a riff of Northern Monkey a derogatory term for people from northern England.

Since nobody mentioned it, Josh Homme (QOTSA) produced some of their stuff and sang backup on 2 songs on the album this song was from. I feel Josh really influenced the band as well as them influencing Josh.

I finally got to see them live and that are AMAZING!

Their first album back in 2006 was the absolute anthem to our 20s. They've evolved so much since then.

The album "AM" that this song is off is amazing, my fave song being "R U Mine?". They've been blowing up the scene however, since thier 2006 debut album "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not". My fave songs off that album are "When The Lights Go Down" & "I Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor". I think you'll be throughly impressed with the lads from Sheffield.

They're from Sheffield in England, I live 10 minutes down the road from there, there's some awesome bands from sheffield. I love that he sings in his accent too. Amazing song! The Arctic monkeys have been around for a little while now and their sound has progressively changed with each album. They started off with a kind of Northern England cheeky chappie sound and moved along into a more grown up, bluesy rock sound. If you want to go back to the beginning then go for "When the sun goes down" next.

So much to hear from them, the whole first album was a record breaker made by teens. The singer Alex is such a good storyteller.

One of those where you’ll have to listen to their albums through to appreciate the stories properly, but bangers in every album and their newest is a completely different direction but they’ve consistently changed album by album

Their back catalogue is immense. I'd start with their first album and the energized Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor. They are an immense live band so search out live versions. My favourites include: 505, Do me a Favour, Fireside, My Propeller, Cornerstone, R U Mine, The View From the Afternoon (official video), When the Sun Goes Down for starters! Enjoy!

Saw them at Nottingham Rock City back in 2006. They were brilliant and always destined for greatness. Headlined Glastonbury three times!

Honestly, listen to anything by these guys, they're gold. The name comes from an insult hurled at natives of Sheffield, the Northern English city they're from.

For me, the first album is the best. And the first track in the album is a good place to start "A view from the afternoon" But also "When the sun goes down" "Mardy bum" and the very mellow "Riot Van" all worth checking out.

This video has been out for a few months but its worth checking out The last shadow puppets which is the lead singers other band. Their song Sweet dreams TN is one of their best and is such a good vocal performance.

There’s a Racing game (In my opinion the best one of all time) called -The Crew- on console and I think PC, it was already my favorite game ever but this song and the rest of the soundtrack made it a 12/10, this song brings chills to me every time because it brings me back to when I’d play this 24/7 a long time ago with my brother❤ amazing song

They're from my home town of Sheffield Yorkshire UK. One of the lines is have got summat in your teeth....Summat (Something.) is Yorkshire...as is Setee which is a sofa.

“Northern Monkeys” is a derogatory term for people of northern England I’m pretty sure. The bands drummer (Matt Helders) Dad had a band with the name Arctic Monkeys. Alex Turner (the lead singer) has said when they first started playing gigs at pubs they were told they needed a name, so they just went with Arctic Monkeys. They thought it was a stupid name and that they’d change it later, but they’d started getting super popular so they stuck with it

To add: 'that's what The Arctic Monkeys sound like' - Yes and no. They've been around for a bit, and their sounds has evolved a lot. I'm more of a fan of their earlier, somewhat rockier, stuff than their later work, but there's people who are diametrically opposed. Whichever era you choose, you're going to get witty lyrics with a depth and rhythm you boys should love and a healthy dose of English/Yorkshire slang you might find confusing (A settee is a sofa or couch btw). Look up 'When The Sun Goes Down', 'A Certain Romance', 'I bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor', 'Mardy Bum' (one of the songs the Mrs and I count as 'ours'), and 'Fluorescent Adolescent ', then contrast and compare with 'One Point Perspective', 'Four Out Of Five', 'She Looks Like Fun', and 'Sculptures Of Anything Goes'.
