That's what they've become at the time. In the beginning when they were at their best they weren't like that. Last album and the next one were written on a piano, so you'll struggle to find a guitar riff at all, sleazy or not. They've got progressively worse with each album they made.

As George said, the setting is not right. This not the song you play at the club, but it is the song you'd play on the late night drive back from the club. A great song by the Arctic Monkeys. As others stated, check out some of their early work as well. The lead singer, Alex Turner, struck up a friendship with Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age and sang backup vocals on the QOTSA "Like Clockwork" album. Josh returned the favor and sang backup on this song. This song is very much in the swag vibe of QOTSA. You NEED to hear some QOTSA songs from that album (I Appear Missing, If I Had a Tail, My God Is the Sun, etc.)

Check out "A Certain Romance", "The View From The Afternoon", "When The Sun Goes Down" or "From The Ritz To The Rubble" - all from their first record. In the early days of the band Alex Turner was open about how grime and particularly artists like (early) Dizzee Rascal were a big influence to them, and they combined that with huge choruses and catchy hooks to create an interesting and unique sounds. Later albums never quite hit that magic spot in my opinion.

Hi guys, came here from Dave - Psycho and was intrigued you were looking at one of my favourite bands. One thing to note is change in the band's direction. First two albums you mentioned are some of my all time favourite albums, a lot of great songs and a very different sound to what came after. 505, Mardy Bum just to name a few are worth checking out

Has a “Putting On The Ritz” vibe. From the 80’s! That’s the familiar sound blended with a “We Will Rock You!”

Wonderful content as always guys. If you're in to the more soulful or R&B style of singing and vocalization... and Metal then I recommend checking out Oceans of Slumber. They have an amazing soulful singer and a killer drummer. Their music varies from Death to Doom Metal to Goth and Progressive Rock/Metal to more traditional American Southern musical styles. Anyways, you guys might enjoy the songs: "To the Sea (A Tolling of the Bells)", "Turpentine", "Winter", "A Return to Earth Below", "The Banished Heart", just to name a few. Thanks as always for sharing your reactions/content with us!
