Miljenko Matijevich is one of the best singers on the planet, he is so underrated.
I’m a 52 yr old woman that seen over 200 concerts in the 80s in the heights of hair metal. I can GUARANTEE if they had hit in 86/87, they would have blown EVERY DAMN BAND OUT THE WATER!!! POINT BLANK!!! PERIOD!!!

52 also and I 100% agree with you.

I’m seen my share of concerts and I said the exact same thing..!!!
"She's Gone". His voice and everything from head to toe! ❤
When people say powerful voice, this is the definition. Amazing
The lead singer didn't die, but he was seriously injured. It took him a long time to recover, but he's still alive and kicking ass today.
THEY ARE NOT A ONE HIT WONDER! THERE’S A WHOLE LOT MORE!

@@jdevanzo Not billboard hits, but they had several songs that were very popular. Can't stop me loving you, Everybody loves Eileen, Sheila, She's Gone and many more.
This is my favorite favorite power ballad ever!! I’ve seen them in concert In 90/91.Honestly, I blame Nirvana and grunge scenes for killing off the 80s hair/metal bands. Steelheart is so underrated band.

I'll be there from Red Dawn !!!
If you like this one then you need to go listen to Shes Gone from the same band. Youll love it and what makes this lead singer different from the rest is he still sounds like this live today. No auto tune needed. He can still hit those notes! Hes amazing. Also he goes by Mike cuz his name is hard for people
When Grunge got big there were a lot of casualties from that era. This was a huge song for this band.
I’m so glad you did this one. I recommended it after seeing your Skid Row reaction video and you mentioning Sebastian’s vocal range. I get chills and cry when I hear this song!! So underrated.
One of my all time favorite power ballads from Rock ❤
This is a power ballad, you should hear she's gone live version unplugged.
I just found your channel because I was looking for reactions to this song. His voice is so amazing. I was lucky to grow up in the 80's. Music was so great back then.

I love watching first reactions to this song. Its became my favorite sport cuz everyone is blown away by his voice
I saw them in concert with Tesla
Steelheart was just becoming huge when Milijenko suffered the accident while climbing the scaffolding during a concert that broke his neck. He recovered, but the band disbanded and he continued as the lead for a new Steelheart in the Asian scene all the way up to 2015.

Underrated is a understatement when it comes to Miljenko (Steelheart), you would love his new stuff today, they have a website just like the rest. I went to his concert in the 90's before his accident and just went last October 23' and he hasn't lost those vocals from the 90's, he is well seasoned all the way around. They toured with Great White and Bullet Boys and many other great hair bands when music was actually talented singers. Crazy but talented......
Just seen Miljenko Majetivic last weekend in Texarkana AR acoustic he's absolutely amazing. Miljenko is the lead singer of Steelheart
He was up for best range in the WORLD!! BEFORE HIS ACCIDENT
Grunge took over the radio in mid-'90s, and hair metal took a backseat in America. These guys would still have crushed in Europe. Steelheart was maybe the first "big" rock band I ever saw live, back in '91 at a small local club when I was 18, just barely old enough to get in with an X on my hand. Back then, I was impressed, and can still smell the fog machines in my memories.
It was a magic time to be alive. Comparing how people are today to the way we were back then brings sadness to the heart. 😢
Black Pegasus: he’s has a really good voice, incredible All of us: JUST WAIT!!!!!
Abs of steel on that backbend, abs of steel!!!
One of a kind vocalist. You should listen to "She's Gone" by them as well.
Mili is my favorite rocket, and this is my favorite Steelheart tune.
They were just starting to climb up the charts, then the scaffolding acccident happened and stopped the momentum but he lucky to be back singing the way he is.
This song is amazing, backed up with this band, and Miljevic taking the lead. This singer/band I understand never got their dues in part by terrible accident that befell him. The video is BOSS, his voice is on a scale few rise to. Song is beautiful, I sent it to the ONE that is very Special to me. So Beautiful. Thanks SteelHeart!!!
The lean is sick right! His vocals are off the chart! This band had some killer other songs “You Can’t Stop the World From Turning”, “Everyone Loves Eileen”, “She’s Gone” to name a few…they were never as big as the Def Leppard’s and Bon Jovi’s but that has to do with the timing of when they formed and with his injury it prevented touring to support the album.
Oh yay!! His vocals are friggin awesome. Check out We All Die Young,
They came out when Hair Metal was waning and giving way to Grunge. Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains. The Seattle Sound.
Love love love this song! Thank you for your reaction.
Hell Yeah, get this banger
I think the on stage accident happened when they were really on their way up and it derailed their opportunity to go real big. His lead vocals were untouchable before the accident
And he can belt out flawless lyrics live as well. Mili = best!
BP I think you’re awesome checking out all the different genres on your channel, that I now follow closely.. music brings so many people together if we could all just make it that simple this rock hurling through space would be such a better place to be in the short amount of time we have on it. Appreciate you and your positivity always, also seen one of your recent music venues and your freestyle was banging you said you were going to work hard and start crafting on it and it’s showing! 👍🏼
Love the new member/composer.....🤟💯💯💯💯.
Lead singer could win any limbo contest!!
The stage accident was during a concert of 13,000
I grew up in this era, and I didn't know about Steelheart until 20+ years later. Coming in on the tail end of an 'era', they didn't make it to the top like they should have. Not sure where this song, or their other BIG hit "She's Gone" got to, but considering that I didn't know of either song till 20+ years after, they obviously didn't get much radio play.
He’s truly BLESSED to still be performing today!
Welcome to Hair Metal! Enjoyed your reaction. And in response to your air guitar, If it's not fun, why fuq with it? Have fun Man! Peace!
Given what he went through, Milli worked his ass off to get where he is now and he sounds great. I still get goosebumps from this song.
Try She’s Gone by Steelheart😮❤ he is still singing today
12:22 . New subscriber to your channel and fellow Coloradan. This was/is one of the best power ballads. There are more great songs by these guys like -she's gone, we all die young (movie) and another one of my favorites is All Your Love are a must listen. Stay Blessed!!
Besides Steelheart and Skid Row, there are a few other bands with incredible lead singers with amazing vocal range that you should check out. Mark (Slaughter) - Fly To The Angels; Rob Halford (Judas Priest); Tom Keifer (Cinderella); Rik Emmet (Triumph); Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden). These are a few just off the top of my head to get you started. I'm sure there's many more but it's late and I'm tired.
He sounds just as good live.i love steelheart
🤘🤘
❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️
If not for accident would've been one of biggest bands ever
Excellent song!!
They were big in the United States but in the Asian countries they are HUGE
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Ya that crazy ass leaning back while singing with that much power is nuts that's one strong ass core right there he does live to not just for video dramatization
Check out these Bands Firehouse...Shake and Tumble, All She Wrote Warrant...Cherry Pie and Uncle Tom's Cabin Jackyl...Encore Full Throttle Saloon, Lumberjack, I Stand Alone, Back Off Brother and Down On Me
Another one "She's Gone"......from SteelHeart...
Hrs still alive and still performing live
Hope you got to react to the original video of their “She’s Gone”!! Fantastic too🥰🎶
And that's a fact .look it up✌️😁
I appreciate this guy doing this reaction. He has subject knowledge. Good Job! Carry On!!!
Dont do it Black Pegasus!! Lol dont hurt yourself
My favorite from Steel heart is a song called Shelia, if you give it a listen be sure to have some tequila on hand, and crank it up all the way.
BEST RANGE..💯
I don’t want to fly on a plane after watching the Mayday shows on Saturday. Lol. In reference to road trips. Yea keep me on the ground. I know some people have to fly. It seems here lately that more than a few plane issues arising. Be safe out there. ❤️
They were a heavy band!! Had a few hits but were very underrated!! You need to check out their song called Steelheart!! I saw them in '91 & they were great!!
back in the day he could hit this notes the same live sounded just like on a record still hits the notes today just can't sustain them as much alwayso do steelheart live reactions from back in the day
so this is the first time i have commented to a reaction video, but i will say i like your style, so i subscribed, i will check out more of your videos, as for these guys (i am a 53 year old, metal head in the 80's) yes they definitely came out to late to hit the hair metal scene with a bigger splash, if they came out in say 85 or 86 i think they would have been bigger. they are technically a no hit wonder as this was their biggest hit and it oinly hit number 23 on the charts, but this is my absolute favorite by them, also i do like the sound track from rockstar that milenko did. but they are not the level of say motley crue, poison, ozzy, def leppard, scorpions, k.i.s.s. or a few others.,
steelheart just finished european tour... lead singer is from croatia.....
Bro you need to watch this live
There are probably a multitude of great 80s singers and musitions you never heard of these are great voices and great great musitions playing real instruments without all the auto tune and crap , and they wrote their own music they didnt depend on stealing others music.
Miljenko has recovered from initial accident. 2023 is their 30th anniversary and he reworked this song to be Angel Eyes (I'll Never Let You Go). Softer version that can be taken more of any relationship instead of love ballad. He recorded it with his beautiful daughter Steviann. Look it up Angel Eyes 2023
Check out Queensryche in live in Japan doing Take Hold of the Flame !
That journey song is called don't stop believing.
The lead singer was Miljenko Matijevic ; listen to his solo work, Hallelujah
The song u r listening to was released 1989.
Miljenko is a Legend!
You sounded like he died in his accident, but he didn't. It took him a long time to recover, but he can still hit those big notes. I think I found him singing as early as last year here on KZread, in fact they are playing in Vegas in January 2024
Loved your video man! When you get a chance, check out their song "Everybody Loves Eileen". IMO, that's Steelheart's "Livin' on a Prayer" killer. 🤘😎
Grunge put the kibosh on hair metal! FIREHOUSE, WHITE LION , DANGER DANGER to mention a few were on the way to the top but fell into obscurity! Definately checkout WHITE LION!
The music then was just fun, music got more angst as the early 90's progressed, and while lyrically it was good, musically I always thought it suffered and it just wasn't as fun to me. Music speaks to people differently and genres matter, for me at least I wanted my rock to be fun. If I wanted angsty, angrier feeling music that's what my metal collection was for, this music got a terrible rep during the 90's, but I love seeing people enjoy it again for what it is
Το τέλειο συγκρότημα της εποχής μου.Η μεγαλύτερη φωνή που εχει η μουσική της ρόκ.Τους αγαπώ απο μικρο κορίτσι.
After that freak accident, he was able to come back almost 100
So you should react to She s Gone, that has 90 million's view's and is master balland......
Grunge got popular and record labels dropped the hair bands. Record executives paid the Damn Yankees (rock super group) a million dollars to go away, instead of producing their third album, in the early 1990's.
If you want more fast paced check out steelhearts song like never before or samurai or sticky side up
He's very tall... long legs... that's how he does that! Lol
Just find out, Denden Gonjales who had covered this song amazingly. You'll be blown away bro
The accident happened many years before Rock Star. Sadly, shut them down.
❤Pegasus… I used to hang with these guys, watched them come up the music scene when they first started out as “Red Alert”. Miljenko was not the only tragedy from this band. My friend John Fowler (Drummer) passed away from Cancer and Chris Risola (Lead Guitar) suffered a massive stroke and was left unable to play guitar again…. These guys are insanely talented all in their own right. Miljenko (Lead Vocals) is H U G E in South Korea. He is still singing and is acting as well… He won the “King of the Masked Singer” in Korea (same concept as the American version of The Masked Singer) When he took off his mask, the audience AND judges cried…He recently broke the World Record for recording a song in 8 different languages. Frank DiCostanzo (Rhythm Guitar) plays in a local band called “Pimpinella” (who I am actually going to see tonight. Do some research, you will enjoy it all!! ❤
Check out the song Electric Chair by Steelheart Miljenko wrote this song right after his accident
You oughta check out We All Die Young
YO totally thought you were about to react to steel panther.
The comment has things a bit out of order. The stage accident actually happened way before the Rock Star movie. It was Halloween 1992 and Steelheart was opening for Slaughter. Mike climbed a lighting truss and it collapsed, sending him head-first into the stage. His face was crushed and his spine was twisted and he was laid up for over a year.
Trickster and Firehouse were also in the late to the game bands. All were great but grunge had killed this music. It’s called.a power ballad.
Listen to the song Steelheart by Steelheart
