Steelheart is criminally underrated if you ask me, they have a ton of great songs

Yeah, I love them and if I ever hear anyone talk about them it's 2 songs. Even their peppier stuff is great like sticky side up. Wish people looked into other songs not just She's Gone and this I'll Never Let You Go.

Yes, 1990. I was a senior. Driving on 113 into Amherst, OH listening to it the first time. After the first chorus, I had to pull over at a gas station at the junction of 58 to finish listening to the rest of it. There aren't many people that can vent their pipes like him!

This song came out in 1990, great job Mel…..his voice is incredible and his range is insane!!!! Power ballads from hairbands are the most beautiful in my opinion

@@Mostopinionatedmanofalltime I had the first version that came out when It was called Angel Eyes (I’ll Never Let You Go) and then when it was released as just I’ll Never Let You Go I got that. It was 2 different covers. One with some sort of factory and the other with the leather jacket.

@@dougpoole1403 I, too, had the steel factory CD. Great album from start to finish. I can only recall 2 other albums that EVERY SONG was a winner: Def Lep's Hysteria, and Scorp's Savage Amusement. The hair band genre is easily one of the greatest collections of music the world's ever known and it was a FANTASTIC TIME to be alive!

The movie Rockstar used Miljenko Matijevic's vocals as Mark Wahlberg's. You can really hear them during the "audition" scene.

This was 1990 I think. This dude has pipes. So sad his career was cut short. During a concert the lights above him broke off and landed on his head and almost killed him.

Steelheart is still on tour..he's huge in Korea..the column he was climbing on stage wasn't bolted down and it toppled over and he had multiple injuries. It took years for him to heal before he could get the band together.

His career was not cut short. He did have a terrible stage accident but he still tours today and he still sings like this live! He can still hit these notes. He is still amazing

Seeing various channel's reactions to Steelheart's music and his otherworldly voice warms the cockles of my heart. I was "ground zero" when they hit the scene with their self-titled debut album the year I graduated high school: 1990. 3 groups from that era I really thought were gonna go the distance: Steelheart, Eyes, and Wildside. Then...Nirvana hit the scene in '93 and the "hair band" genre all but died off. Damn shame. The early '90s were truly a MAGICAL TIME to be alive.

I made a tape for a girl I was in love with and this song was on it, along with XYZ, mCcauly Shenker group, mr. Big, slaughter and a bunch of others. It was all ballads. I liked banging my head, but these songs were for her. Many years later she told me that it was a very special tape. I recorded it on a very expensive metal ribbon cassette that would last for years. I didn’t writ the songs down, so she had no idea who these bands were, but she asked, who sings “I’ll never let you go”? “ Everyone wants to know”. So I just teared up watching y’all enjoy Miljenko Matijevic hit those high notes clear from his diaphragm. I just love seeing people blown away just like I was so many years ago. Thank you for making it feel like the first time again:)

I grew up with the love of my life, we both moved on, then we reconnected when I was 49 and fell in love. This was his song to me. We were talking on the phone one night when he had a heart attack and died. Right there on the phone. This song gives me peace and reminds me how much he loved me. Thank you.

He has done so many great songs. She's Gone, Everybody Loves Eileen, Don't Cry Momma, G2BA, and the song Steelheart. Even albums after 1992 are great. On Halloween 92 he was almost killed in a stage accident. .

Let me TELL TOU…I’m a 52 yr old woman that grew up on 80s metal and Miljenko Matijevic is the MOST UNDERRATED SINGER OF THE 80s/90s. This man almost lost his life I believe in 91 when a 1000 scaffolding fell on him. But even today, that man right here 30 years later STILL sounds the same❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Miljenko Matijević is the lead singer he was born in Croatia. his range is so unbelievable, 30 some years later he can still hit those high notes, he can't hold them as long, but for all these years later it is still very impressive... Steelheart was one of the most underrated bands of the late 80's early 90's. Do a reaction to their song "She's Gone"

Yall are discovering Steelheart now lol. I smile because let me tell you something. Ive been playing guitar, drums and bass a long time. We did cover songs from Aerosmith to Nirvana to Pearl Jam back in the day in high school in the early 90s. We never covered any Steelheart songs though. Not because the band couldn't play it. Because I never met a vocalist that could hit this range!

Another band from the 80s where the lead singer has a very unique voice, is Firehouse. The songs, Shake and Tumble, Love of a Lifetime, and All She Wrote, to name a few. I recommend and of the 3.

That was about 91 or 92 The singer was in a bad accident on stage and broke his jaw after a lightning rod or big stage metal pole hit him and even did some brain damage evidently, and he had to start over.. Watch his song to his mother .. It's called " Mamma don't you cry / Acoustic".. You'll love it too!

This was a song you loved when it came out and got tired of hearing it on the radio lol. Not hearing for years, yeah, it's a great song, and we were spoiled by these kind of singers in the 80's/90's because that's what the music was.
