Undertaker in 02? Really? The year Taker had that great Mania match with Flair, got eliminated from the Rumble by Maven, had that great Ladder match with Jeff Hardy, had a great triple threat with Rock and Angle at Vengeance and in the build to that match he TAPPED OUT to Kurt Angle, he had those matches with Brock Lesnar that was already mentioned. And that's just the great memorable moments from Taker in 2002. Now, Undertaker in 2001, I can agree with as, his stuff with DDP, Kanyon and other stuff in the Invasion wasn't good but, Kronik was certainly the worst MATCH. Even though I'd say DDP's burial was worse.

WWE really did The Ascension dirty on the main roster. They were great in NXT but were never given a real chance after getting called up

But jobbers are needed, and you're not gonna hire terrible wrestlers just because you plan to have them lose anyways. That being said, The Ascension didn't need to be buried by commentary the way that they were.

In 2002, Jackie Gayda had one of the worst matches ever in a mixed tag team match vs Trish Stratus. That rotten match alone gets my vote for worst wrestler of that year.

I remember that. To be fair, Jackie Gayda & Linda Miles were fresh off winning Tough Enough and were WAY too inexperienced to be on TV, let alone RAW. After botching the finish (and Trish being visibly frustrated about it), it was hard for her to recover.

Undertaker 2002? He was #2 in the pwi of 2002. I understand 2001 taker but definitely not big evil taker who had bangers with Brock, hardy, rock, angle & made ric flair look great again

Goldberg is a prime example of a guy who was brought in exclusively for his look, wasn't trained properly as a wrestler so he'd at least be safe in the ring and ended up ending the career of one of the best. For me, Goldberg's legacy died the night he gave Bret Hart a concussion. After that, the illusion of him being a great wrestler was gone. Being safe in the ring is key to being a great pro wrestler. You're taking another person's career in your hands when you get in the in the ring with them, and Goldberg coupled that with a lack of respect for guys who could actually wrestle.

and i don't think she was nervous. she was just stupid. and her appearance in AEW was BAD. she looked lost in the ring and talked too much while nyla was like "oh shit" and anna jay (green at the time) knew something was off. the worst part of all of this was that she used that appearance to get wwe's attention and she's still waiting to get called back up to wwe. aew found out about this and they probably have blackballed from the company. it's a good thing they were able to find not just talent from the indies but also homegrown talent who at least give a shit.

Kurrgan ended up having a pretty decent acting career, so good for him.

The messed up part about Khali I'd that he was ACTUALLY a wrestler in New Japan. He had knees and moved quick as hell. Highly recommended looking for khali's Japan matches

Yeah. He could really move well. But when you see his legs today... i saw a Training Video, from last year i think, it was hard to see how damaged his legs are.

If you're a blue collar schlub who mistakenly puts a number in the wrong column, sure. If you have at least two commas in your income and access to the best lawyers, tax shelters, shell companies, and offshore bank accounts, not so much.

Mike Shaw was a great performer in Stampede and had great matches with Owen Hart. You add some age and bad character planning you get Bastion Booger.

In a way this list is proof of WWE appeal/dominace. Getting more exposure makes sure those mistakes are remembered. The criteria for worst wasn't that consistent. Comparing The Undertaker to Bastian Booger or Nailz is just crazy..

I'm surprised Rebel isn't up there, and she makes up three of those years. Her one match in Impact had SO MANY botches and the one match (if not, her only match) on NXT was so bad management had to change from her winning to her opponent in the middle of the match.

Honestly, I feel like Deuce and Domino had some OK matches in 2007. I remember one of them had this streak of taking insane bumps for a bit. This was the era of MNM, London and Kendrick, and Regal and Burchell, and Smackdown's tag division was amazing, you were guaranteed at least a good match if not a great match every week in the tag division. The gimmick itself was super corny, but I never thought they were bad wrestlers

They were great the gimmick was unique and the music was great.

In Brodus Clay's defense, by giving him the "Funkasaurus" gimmick WWE gave him the same gimmick that didn't work years earlier when they brought in the former Too Cold Scorpio as Flash Funk.

Big Evil did have that Wrestlemania match with Flair in 2002 and the ladder match with Jeff Hardy for the Undisputed Championship. His run with the Hardcore Title was also pretty fun too, mostly just for watching his opponents eat literal trucks of shit in the matches.

Deuce n Domino were amazing. Cool look, cool gimmick, great theme song and they had Cherry as a manager. I loved them.

Simon, what are you talking about regarding Taker in 2002? There was the Lesnar series including the very good Hell in a Cell match. He put over Jeff Hardy in their ladder match on RAW. Made Jeff feel like a genuine star. He gave fucking Maven a rub at the Rumble. Had a very good Mania match with Ric Flair. The dud championship match with Hogan can hardly be put on him either.

Sorry but there is no way Miz was the worst wrestler in 2013 when Wes Brisco was wrestling that year

ACTUALLY he was released. After the Mordecai gimmick tanked he was sent back down to OVW and then later released on 2005. He was brought back a year later to portray Kevin Thorn and the original idea was to team with Gangrel but unfortunately Gangrel had Weight troubles and nixed the team idea but Simon is correct on this.

I dont think Simon looked at the 2002 roster....there were definitely some guys that deserved the spot that isn't the Undertaker

Undertaker in 2002 was awesome. The Ladder Match for The Undisputed Championship against Jeff Hardy on Monday Night RAW was one of the best things all year. and enough reason alone to keep him off this list.

To answer the Giant Gonzalez question for the suit. The answer is simple. To look like a giant from ancient times. And cut Gonzalez some slack. He tried his best to wrestle.

I love Simon, but sorry, this list has no consistency. Are we judging bad in-ring skill?Bad booking? Bad gimmicks? Also, Undertaker admitted that he was out of shape in ‘01-02, but even out-of-shape Taker does not belong on a list with the likes of Giant Gonzales and Boogeyman. I would also argue that Kurrgan was not the worst of ‘98, that would be his Oddities stablemate Giant Silva. At least Kurrgan could do some moves, Silva was about immobile as Khali.

Giant Gonzalez was virtually immobile by 1993. He made the Great Kali look like Daniel Bryan

When the fiend feuded with seth rollins and they had written themselves in a corner and had that no contest finish. That was truly the end of the fiend. Ultimately even worse than cm punk vs ryback back in the day

I am a hardcore Shane O Mac fan. It's literally right there in my name. But even I absolutely despised Shane in 2018. Between his bullcrap regarding Sami and Kevin (my favorite tag team) and the unforgivable nonsense of BITW even I was glad when he finally left again. I really hope he finds his happiness at Ideanomics because I don't trust the WWE with him anymore.

Not sure who made this list but Taker in 02 is questionable. You could find way worse wrestlers in WWE during 2002. Taker is literally a GOAT, his WWE championship reign during that year is underrated. I remember his matches against a rookie Randy Orton and Jeff Hardy in the ladder match. That said, whoever put the Undertaker in worst wrestler in 2002 should step down from creating lists.

I re-watched WCW and saw the debut OZ, they put SO much in the presentation of Oz. I was like, ok how will this play out since the crowd was interested in what it was. He won his 1st match, then they buried him and he never won again. He had such a big introduction only to job.

I know I’m late to this but who in there right mind would ever pick the undertaker as the worst wrestler in 2002. You had the likes of Bill demott, chris nowinski and Ernest miller and out of those names listed you still pick the undertaker 🤦‍♂️ I had to stop watching the video after that lol.

Alexa, Becky and Charlotte took the cake for that.

As soon as I learned this was a fan vote I assumed the video would be mostly unwatchable. I didn't make it past "Mike Rotunda" coming up, something which assured me these were clueless selections. I thought you would be reasonable presenting the bad votes, but you showed only IRS footage when Rotunda didn't leave WCW until 1991. You can do better.

Before I watch can anyone confirm the Bella’s appear for every year that showed up in WWE?

I cant believe you missed out The Shockmaster (1993), Dave Sullivan (1994) and The Yeti (1995)

Giant Gonzalez was DEFINITELY the better pick over The Shockmaster. The latter's bad stuff was really confined to tripping in his intro, whereas Giant Gonzalez was ONLY bad in every aspect. He didn't look good, he couldn't wrestle, and he couldn't even make a convincing big man.

actually, i think it's insulting to the profession of wrestler. she could barely do anything and i think to be the worst wrestler. you have to try badly. she is just someone who doesn't give a shit about putting on a decent match as she just wants to be on tv.

As mentioned so so so many times below,Simon chose the wrong guy for 2002. If nothing else,the Jeff Hardy-match lifts him then beyond anything like this. And as can be seen in the other comments,there was so much more. Sorry,Simon,not getting an up.

There's a difference between "worst wrestler" and "bad gimmick that I don't like".

Fun fact: Mordeki's gimmick was outright stolen from a Scottish wrestler called Conscience who went for a tryout with WWE. They didn't want him, but just a few months later Mordeki pops up; so they clearly didn't want him, but they did want his gimmick. Conscience is the same wrestler who trained Viper and a number of other Scottish wrestlers.

I disagree with Undertaker from 2002 he had a good match against The Rock at NWO 2002 his match with Flair WM X8 was very entertaining the ladder match with Jeff Hardy on Raw is an all time classic & finally his feud with Brock was amazing

The Hip Hop Hippo gimmick actually belonged to Albert PRE-A-Train and Lord Tensai monster push attempts. He was known as Sweet-T teaming with Brodus before he finally chose to retire and became head PC trainer....

Yeah but he was also so selfish at this point, like simon says undertaker destroyed everyone and it stopped being fun. at times also at this point undertaker stopped puttng any effort in and was winging it from week to week.

There's no consistency in this list. Sometimes people are voted because of their wrestling talent. Sometimes it's storyline. Sometimes its gimmick. Great idea for a video but really crappy execution Simon.

Out of all the wrestlers who were wrestling in 2002, you chose the undertaker. Think there was worse.

3:35 that's not Bertha Faye, that's Bull Nakano. And how Jackie Gayda didn't make this list on any level is mind boggling.

Kurrgan lives in the same town as me, I see him all the time at the mall and movie theatre.

Shane 2018 didn't deserve it. He had some amazing performances and crazy spots that year. Him winning the best in the world tournament was gimmicky but he still performed really well and you gotta respect his crazy daredevil spots.

The Undertaker??? I know people didn't like the American Badass gimmick, but I did. He was flexing his mic skills and had an attitude that matched his intimidating look.

Well Khali actually wrestled really nice before he got to the wwe He was more atheletic than he was in his wwe prime

Undertaker 2002 got me into wrestling. Just sayin 🤷‍♀️

Y’all can say what y’all want…when Giant Gonzalez showed up at the Royal Rumble it was AMAZING & as kids we were glued to the tv screen at his debut & storyline with the undertaker & his outfit was hella cool it made him look more scary & vicious imo
