If by chance Pat's dad is reading this specific comment, then I just wanna say you did a good job raising your son. Granted I don't know him well enough to say he hasn't killed anyone, but I think it's a safe assumption to think he's a good noodle.

My thought process on this was 1. He’s gonna do literal ships. 2. My god, the madman! Actual relationships?! The horror. 3. Oh, he’s juping us with his least favorite ship, and it’ll immediately go to a popular ship for 15, like Sora x Kairi or something 4. This man is a comedic genius

I made the biggest sigh of relief when i realized it was about literal ships. As someone who loves shipping and had experienced many toxic responds to my ships i am very scared to openly talk about this stuff. But thank god, that was the best plot twist ever.

The weirdest thing about this is that I knew Pat was going to talk about literal ships and then his long disclaimer made me think, "Wait. Oh no, he's going there. He's going to sacrifice himself to the shipping wars. How will he rank the different couples?" And then he proceeds to talk about literal ships like I originally thought he was going to do. I feel like I catfished myself on this one. Also, hi to Pat's dad. :) God bless you and your son. EDIT: As someone who also enjoys hunting for crabs in KH3...that rant was perfection. Bravo!

i beat kh3 blind literally yesterday after a 6 month binge through the series, so im pretty disconnected from any discourse surrounding it and the general consensus. the crabs were the best part of the game pre-aqua, im genuinely surprised that people hate it they give you a good excuse to explore probably the best piece of level design in the series, and on critical its a much needed breather. i was checked out after arendelle and thought carribbean was shitty for the first half, but when i got to port royal i was like "this game fuckin rocks" the crabs are like the exact moment when the game gets really good.

I'm all for crabs and exploration but give me a freaking save point. I can't fathom why the save point on the docks doesn't appear until post-crabs. What if I want to enjoy this part in multiple sessions? What if I want a save point I can always go back to for my crab collecting adventures? Gimme a boat, let me beat Luxy in a race, let me save, let me collect a few hundred crabs. Is that so much to ask for?

I agree with every part of your Crab Rant! It was so much fun finding where large batches of them were hidden! Also, the vessel joke about Terra had me cackling 🤣. I love these "dumb" ranking videos and I would genuinely love to see the treasure chest video you joked about.

Gonna be completely honest. I was EXPECTING this to be about ships. I was like "oooh gummi ship front and center". Almost had me convinced this was about character shipping for a sec until 16# popped up lmao. Also i LOVED the crabs. That honestly was one of my favorite worlds in the whole series. As someone who also unironically loves the crab collecting in KH3, that rant was immensely satisfying.

In KH1 my ‘go to’ was my custom ship, the “Gun Brick”. Literally just the second cab + 6 triple barrel gatlings, 1 hex barrel gatling, 3 medium missile launchers, & 2 loot gathering jellyfish nets.

I'm always learning something new about the first Kingdom Hearts.

Another one to add in the list of “I am stupid” moments. I didn’t even look at the thumbnail to the video I just got a notification that said “regular pat uploaded” and when I saw the video I was like “oh cool he’s gonna be talking about gummi ships, he must be running out of ideas”

YES! Someone finally said what I felt about finding the crabs. I didn't mind finding them and it did give me time to look around the world more. My favorite ships are friendship, the Leviathan in 3, Atlantica's sunken ship and of course, the Gummi ship. I really liked making a Gummi ship in 3.

Just for the heck of it, I would argue that Steamboat Willie is definetly a ship and here's why: Willie is an old paddle steamer, a type of ship also known as the riverboat, but here the name can be misleading. While it isn't as big as other ships on the list, it is for sure bigger in size and more complex than a common boat. This is evident in its structure and engineering. The deckhousing has 2 levels with the hull housing inner compartments with the engine room and the ship is big enough for the stern deck to have a cargo crane. In terms of capacity Willie can carry both passengers (at least 20) and cargo, and house a powerplant with 2 smoke stacks. All are features of a a steamship, but in this case a very small steamship. Boats often have deckhousing and an engine as well, but very rarely is the cabin on 2 levels over the main deck with 2 funnels, at least in the common boats of the 19th and early 20th century.

I'm surprised at how this happened and I applaud you, Mr. Pat, this was a clever subversion of two ship topics in Kingdom Hearts. I hope this year is very great for you!

And hello Regular Pat's Dad, :) Totally down for a top treasure chests vid too, :) Not sure if this part would be video-worthy, but I always thought the different orders that treasures appeared in the journals/reports as you collected them were interesting. Maybe it helped the player realize there was a treasure you missed in a specific area by starting with the last treasure in a section and filling up that series. Or how it made completionists go crazy by keeping a treasure as tantalizing and uncollectable question mark until we finally got the ability we needed from another world to access it.

That's actually super awesome and adorable your father is so supportive of your career! Not everyone gets that support they need, and it's great you get it!

Props for not uploading this in April, 'cause I most certainly would have had my dream shield up 😆 In all seriousness though, most of the ships in KH are kinda boring in my opinion, partly because we know they'll never take things higher than hugs and hand holding, and the fact that pretty much none of the main boys of are gudnuth for Aqua =| cept maybe Axel/Lea; I don't know why, but they showed more chemistry in that one exchange during the replica nort fight than Terra and Aqua ever did since their inception. Plus Fire and water? What's not to like?

This was kind of a fun video, man, and I agree with the Leviathian being near the top. I even loved the crab collection quest because it made my ship stronger, so you'd better believe I hunted down every single crab

Was 100% expecting actually literal ships for this. The thumbnail only affirmed it to me when I saw the gummie ship, and I assumed we'd talk entirely about the blueprints. However, I can not express the complete and unrivaled joy I felt rising inside me as he continued to build up the topic, and then discussed a sea vessel.
