Raptor could do with some restraint upgrades. What makes me laugh is that a good majority of their top 10 coasters, could be the big attraction for many, many other parks. I am completely spoiled by going to Cedar Point daily when they're open.

I went to the opening for the Magnum XL in 1989 on my honeymoon because I was young and crazy, lol... I have gone to ride all of their new coasters within a month of their opening and I'm here to say I am EXTREMELY spoiled by this park. Through my life I have gone to other parks and have been disappointed just because their coasters never add up or they only have 1 or 2 in the park that can compare. Cedar Point is THE park. So glad to have grown up in Michigan within a 2 hr. drive.

Love the list! And I wish Magnum would be super consistent. My first ever ride on it, I was almost afraid to ride again, and then later that day I got two ride in row that were incredible. Now when I think of Cedar Point, going over Magnums second hill with a cool breeze, looking at the full moon on the lake, is one of my favorite moments ever at the park

I consider Raptor to be a founding father of the inverts. It’s a lot older so it will have some problems that newer inverts don’t have, but B&M built something timeless

The problem with your ranking system is that you identify a complaint about the ride that is unique to your visit or your situation and then you emphasize it with a ridiculous ranking change. It makes you look silly.

Awesome vid, and great footage! Cedar Point is my homepark and I love to see what others think of our coaster lineup. Here's my list: 15. Corkscrew - who IS a fan of Corkscrew anyway? 14. Cedar Creek Mine Ride - good scenic ride, works really well as a family coaster 13. Iron Dragon - the forest setting is nice, though the pond-dive is for sure the best part 12. Rougarou - it's grown on me over time. A little rough but very forceful and unique layout 11. Gemini - yeah the drops are a bit jerky, but they're an intense kind of jerky, and it's awesome when it races 10. Wicked Twister - still freaks me out to this day. Great launches and weightless twisting 9. Blue Streak - fight me. 8. Valravn - I like its layout and it's pretty intense. Still prefer SheiKra 7. Magnum XL-200 - everyone has a love-hate relationship with Magnum 6. GateKeeper - forget forcelessness, the layout is just long, creative, and super engaging 5. Top Thrill Dragster - I'd rank it higher if it weren't for the downtime. My dad calls it "STOP Thrill Dragster" 4. Raptor - I have a soft spot for Raptor. It was my first CP coaster and one of the rides that made me an enthusiast 3. Millennium Force - it's got a great mix of some intense moments, some graceful moments, decent airtime, and fast af 2. Maverick - Maverick just kicks ass. 'Nuff said 1. Steel Vengeance - I mean, how can it NOT be #1. It's pure insanity embodied within a roller coaster

Nice to see a ranking in the comments! Not enough people seem to put their rankings in videos for all to see. I'd surely put mine, but I haven't been to Cedar Point yet. If you've rode the kiddie coasters, where would they rank? Also, while Pipe Scream isn't a roller coaster, but Cedar Point thinks it's one (to claim 18 coasters), and it is fairly common on lists. Where would it rank on yours? Sorry for being curious but I'm collecting CP rankings and comparing them to see which coasters are liked more than others, just for fun.

Cedar Point is officially on my 2022 itinerary now, with a visit to a cousin I haven't seen in about a decade who I used to take to Kings Dominion when he was a kid. I'm easily looking at 100 new credits next year. I've always absolutely loved roller coasters and considered myself an enthusiast, but this is the first year that I've ever planned travel specifically for theme parks.

This video made my day. I love CP. Awesome video👍

Good list! Very different from mine as Raptors restraints don’t bother me, where the vest restraints kill Valravn for me and I found Blue Streak to be quite good and Gemini is in my top 6.

That’s interesting that you say that about Raptor restraints and that it’s hard to breathe. It makes me think that you prefer those hydraulic ones like on Valravn and Gatekeeper. In my opinion (i’m small though) those hydraulic ones suffocate me way more and Raptor restraints happen to be just perfect for me

I don't have a problem with any of the other restraints, just the one on Raptor.

Imo nothing beats the Maverick, the sheer extremity of the speed and acceleration makes it one of the most fun experiences I’ve ever had. Steel Vengeance comes in a good 2nd place tho.

I was supposed to be going to Cedar Point and try Top Thrill Dragster for the first time I was really excited until the virus ruined it but I mainly agree with your ranking!!

You've really convinced me that I gotta go to Cedar Point. I've been wanting to visit since childhood. I think I will this spring.

I also have mixed feelings about Magnum. However, I rank it at 4th place in the park and here's why. For one thing, the view from the lift hill is breathtaking and by far the best in the park. As for the ride experience, I find that the front and back are uncharacteristically not the best options on this coaster. I think that the final airtime hills are so oddly spaced and shaped and the train is so long that you actually have a disruption in the usual airtime timing. I find that the third car seems to be the sweet spot for me. The ride is smooth there and it's where the airtime isn't interrupted by the front car hitting thre next hill and slowing. In the third car it is a world class coaster in my opinion. But if you aren't in the third car it's underwhelming and sometimes even painful. The first time I rode it it popped my back just exiting the loading station. So it's hard to give it unqualified praise when it's such a seating dependent coaster. But I like it so much in the right seat that I overall rank it above TTD.

Wow... I thought I was the only one who felt this way about that 3rd car... I always run there and people look at me like I'm nuts. while they wait in the longer front and back lines.. I just smile and click my seat belt :)......... Ride.. then run back to the line because there is barely any que and do it one more time at the very least. 2 more times if I'm waiting for friends at the water park.

I agree with most of this. One quibble, I like Blue Streak much more than you do, it's surprisingly quick and exciting. Also Blue Streak is the only old school woodie in the park, something any place calling itself "the roller coaster capital of the world" needs. I also like Gemini more than you, it's not a thrill ride but it races better than any coaster I've been on and does so on every run. That makes it really fun. The rest of the list seems about right to me. I even somewhat agree that Rougarou ad Gatekeeper are both better than most enthusiasts give them credit for.

My favorite is millennium force.

Agree with pretty much everything other than I’d drop TTF and Maverick 4-5 spots each. Nicely done!

I haven't ridden Steel Vengeance (and I obviously didn't ride the kiddie coasters) yet so for now my favorite coaster is Millennium Force followed by Top Thrill Dragster, Maverick, Gatekeeper, Valravn, Raptor, Rougarou, Wicked Twister, Cedar Creek Mine Ride, Blue Streak, Iron Dragon, Corkscrew, Magnum XL 200 (too rough), Mean Streak and Gemini (I got really sick on that ride somehow).

I remember I had the fast pass plus one day I went, got there super early and ran to the back of the park when it opened to ride Steel Vengeance, and IN THE FAST PASS LINE it was a 1 hour and 30 minute wait. That just shows you how great of a ride it is.

I completely agree with your placement of Raptor. It's always at the end that my head is ping-ponged around and it's quite a headache. The rest of the ride is great, but the restraints are just annoying.

I personally have Magnum at 3, Raptor at 5 and Dragster at 6, but agree with you on 1, 2 and 4. As usual, enjoyed your video. I appreciate that you aren’t ashamed to have different opinions and are able to justify them.

My brother feels the same way as you about the B&M restraints on Great Bear at Hersheypark!!! He literally looked like he was going to fall out, and it wouldn’t go down anymore! Only some B&M inverts apparently!

Definitely some surprises in there! It's all good though. Personally, I find Valravn to be basically the most disappointing coaster I've experienced. It really does nothing for me and I rank it at 12 in the park. I do hate to see Blue Streak that low. It's number 8 for me. I usually get a very good ride that is pretty thrilling with decent floater air, my dream is for them to bring back the old trains it used to have which had a single lapbar, no seat dividers and no headrests. I also love Magnum, it is 4th in park for me, but I can understand some of the criticism it gets.

Yes, the valravn is crazy overrated. My friends made me wait 90 minutes for that ride and it was a waste and I was so mad because magnum had a 5 min wait but when we got off valravn it went to a 50 min wait. Let's say I wasn't that happy that visit

What’s the recent video you discussed dragster?

Well I am blessed this is my home park and I recall going to it as a teenager in high school. I recall the days of bobcat, pirate ride, etc..... As for Maverick being redone as they were building it, I cannot confirm that. However, I did some NDT(non destructive testing) inspection work on it. The ultrasonic tests showed some possible issues with the welds on the supports and my company was called in to do Xray testing to confirm it. I was the assistant radiographer for that, but did get to film and we discovered there was incomplete fusion in the welds. We also noticed the film shots were EXTREMELY grainy considering the steel supports. We then were told the sand was already introduced inside the supports to help reduce vibrations. After confirming the welds were bad they had to send the supports back to the manufactor for them to rework the welds upto specs.

@@XscreamThrills it has it ups and downs... rarely had a holiday cause most places did maintenance or repairs so was rarely with the family...however I did get to see some things most people don't see... Take for example the movie the avengers...the scene where Loki appears in the portal made... It looked eerie familiar to me and then realized it was the Space Power Facility in the NASA plumbrook Facility in Sandusky Ohio

My rankings (keep in mind I didn’t ride the Kiddie coasters when I went) 1.Steel vengeance best coaster I’ve ever ridden #1 overall for me 2.Maverick very forceful and intense launch coaster #9 out of 240 for me 3.Millennium Force Ok giga coaster but the layout is enjoyable and there are 2 moments of decent floater airtime #17 out of 240 for me 4.Top Thrill Dragster Very fun coaster with an intense launch and an exhilarating view at the top #25 out of 240 for me 5.Gatekeeper My personal favorite b&m wingrider (I still haven’t rode Thunderbird at Holiday world) #44 out of 240 for me 6.Raptor I honestly didn’t mind the restraints and I have this ranked ahead of Alpengeist in my invert rankings, #45 out 240 for me 7.Magnum XL 200 Great moments of ejector airtime but I agree with your statement of the slight roughness but I think the trains are the main reason for that, #74 out of 240 for me 8.Valravn My second favorite b&m dive coaster got some good inversions and a nice panoramic view of the peninsula, #94 out of 240 for me 9.Wicked Twister my personal favorite Intamin impulse, #96 out of 240 10.Blue streak very fun PTC woodie, more of a classic vintage feeling wood coaster than an intense one. #105 out of 240 for me 11.Rougarou I feel like I didn’t get the best ride on this I went to cedar point two days and only rode this once because of crowds. XscreamThrills yeah I took a big road trip this past summer at the beginning I had 76 credits after all the road trips I ended with 240 total. I’ve visited all the cedar fair parks except CGA, Knotts, and Canada’s Wonderland and I’ve visited all the Six flags parks except for Magic mountain, Discovery kingdom, La ronde, and Mexico. For hershunds I’ve visited Dollywood, Seaworld I’ve visited BGT, BGW, and SWO, Privately owned or small company parks I’ve visited include Hershey park, Kennywood, Kentucky kingdom, and Family kingdom a small boardwalk park in Myrtle beach SC.

@@Wesley-76 personally, I haven’t experienced pipe scream at Cedar point. I did not get the chance to do it in the two days I was there since I was mainly focusing on the coasters. I have a ridden similar attractions though in terms of a Zamperla disco. I have ridden Dizzy Disk at Dollywood, which has a slightly different layout, but I think the attraction is a fun and border thrilling attraction in the case of dizzy disk at Dollywood at least. In terms of Swamp Fox, I think it is a fun Classic PTC woodie. I wish the first two airtime hills weren’t trimmed, but I imagine that they’re trimmed because of safety and rider comfort. However, the return trip after the second turn around is rather thrilling. The airtime you get off the low to the ground bunny hop is almost border line unsafe you get flung so violently out of your seat. Keep in mind Swamp fox operates with a single train with a classic Buzz bar which leaves you with a ton of room. The first few times I experienced in that moment I literally thought we’d derail and fly off the course, and the helix going into the brakes is also really fast paced. You can feel the upstop wheels spinning on the brake run after the brakes are applied. In general it’s a good classic woodie, however I don’t rank it as high as I would Screamin eagle at Six flags St.Louis or Racer 75 at Kings dominion.

Yes, I've ridden one more like Dollywood's as well, the one at Wild Adventures called Tail Spin, and it's quite fun, my 3rd favorite ride there behind their Boomerang and SLC Twisted Typhoon. Swamp Fox sounds pretty fun! I was wondering because I'm in SC for college and I looked up to see if there were any amusement parks in the state I could take a trip to one day, and Family Kingdom came up. Unfortunately, it said 4 hour drive, being way out at Myrtle Beach. Didn't think it was possible to drive straight for 4 hours from where I'm at and still be in SC. Oh well then lol. Waiting for Carowinds to open, it's only 1 hour 40 min away from here! Never been to a Cedar Fair park before.

You definitely got the top 4 right, maybe just placed differently than my list. Then again, coaster rankings are very subjective due to differences in height and weight from rider to rider, then other variables such as weather, time of day or season, etc.

I agree with alot of things but with blue streak if you want airtime the very back always makes it super enjoyable and fun

I was like "yes I agree with all of this!" until I saw Dragster at #3. I'm obviously not mad at you for having an opinion, but I really don't get the hype around Dragster and Kingda Ka. The launch is pretty cool, and I guess the top hat is ok, but there's really nothing to rides like Dragster. They're over in like 20 seconds. I loved and agreed with the rest of this video, but I'll never understand the hype for dragster/kingda ka.

Honestly dragster is in my top 3 any roller coaster ever idk how to describe it at all, but it is FAST

1:50 you mention the airtime hill on Corkscrew as a redeeming quality, but for me, that is the single most painful element I have ever experienced on a roller coaster. It’s the only time I ever actually yelled out in pain on a ride.

Why do I have the exact same opinion as you😂 great vid!

I am going to list the roller coasters at Cedar Point from my favorite to least favorite out of the ones I rode. Before I get to that, here are the roller coasters I did not ride when I went to Cedar Point: Corkscrew, Cedar Creek Mine Ride, Iron Dragon, Woodstock Express, and Wilderness Run. Now here are my Top 12 at Cedar Point: 1- Steel Vengeance 2- Millennium Force 3- Top Thrill Dragster 4- Maverick 5- Raptor 6- Valravn 7- Rougarou 8- Gatekeeper 9- Blue Streak 10- Wicked Twister 11- Magnum XL 200 12- Gemini

Yo my dude, I waited 2 hours to ride Steal Vengeance and I loved it to death. 😞✊👊 I even got a shirt and cards because of it. Sadly the second day, and the last day we'll probably ever go back, Steal Vengeance was down the rest of our time there. We only got to ride once.

That's a disappointment! At least you got to ride it once though!

I usually like going to places at off-times. But if I end up going on a weekday in May, will I need fast lane? Do I run the risk of rides not being in operation?

Usually not, the slower times for Cedar Point is Midweek in May and June

@@XscreamThrills I finally went and just got back today.

I am with you on Magnum. I have it even lower on my list. Our ride was brutal. Our entire party ranging from coaster newbies to experienced riders were all miserable and beat up. As my son said, every man collectively groaned on each of the airtime hills as we got racked. You could feel the train bouncing on the track in places like an old wooden coaster, but at 70 mph. Rugaroo issue was the head banging, different restraints and it would probably be great. Enjoyed Valravn over Gatekeeper, but both fun rides. Last half of Gatekeeper is weak. Front row Valravn is what makes that rise shine. Maverick was fun, but back row is the way to go. Did a couple of rides and they were fun. Then did a back row and it was substantially better. It really is a great back row ride. SteVe lives up to the hype.

Raptor, Magnum and Blue Streak below Rougarou is crazy and I have the same problem you have on Raptor with Valravn where it crushes the ribs

I have the same exact views as you do, except I’d probably put dragster at 1 and then I would put corkscrew at 17 because I hate it that much. I think you only put the kid rides last because they’re kid rides, but I think Woodstock Express is a pretty fun ride. My friend and I go on it as a joke every time we go and I think it’s way better than corkscrew. That ride hurts so bad that I wish they would demolish it, but it looks so nice over the midway, especially at night!

I definitely understand your rankings but I personally don’t mind Magnum and Gemini’s transitions so I have them a little higher on my list but, I really like your list and other than that I agree.

I spend 3 hours waiting for steel vengeance, and I don’t think it was worth it.

What seat do you recommend on rougaro

My opinion: My experience at cedar point was fantastic coming from California, however I’d say Gemini is very rough, wicked twister is better than Valravan because I felt it was more forceful and magnum XL200 is my least favorite by far but other than that I had a blast and this park is my favorite amusement park I’ve been to

You seem to find every ride rough or painful

I'm with him on a lot of things. Magnum is probably the most painful ride I've ever been on, it felt like my legs were being torn off. I've also experienced the same less breathless feeling on B&Ms before too, not very pleasant when you're waiting on the final break run for 5 minutes.

Hey, I've never been to Cedar Point. I've only ever been to Kennywood, and my #1 is Steel Curtain, followed by Phantom, then #3 is Racer. What do you think would be my top 3 at Cedar Point?

For raptor I had the same problem, I thought I was going to slide right off the coaster, and I'm only 6'1.

I’ve been to Cedar Point at least 5 times but I’ve always been to scared to get on the Top Thrill Dragster and in 2 weeks I was supposed to go again on an end of the year school trip, my friend and I had a bet going on over more than 6 months to see if I’d get on it and I’m really bummed out that it’s not going to happen this year.

Going to CP this summer!

Wood stocker express is the extended version of gadgets and coasters from Disneyland Park. They have awesome coasters!

Have to agree with the top 6 of this list. Steel Vengeance (especially at night) and in the front seat has to be the pinnacle of roller coasters!

My dad is also tall (6'2) and finds the raptors restraints uncomfortable. For me they are super comfortable and my favorite restraints on any ride I've rode, but I'm also 5'9. It is probably my favorite coaster right now.

XscreamThrills... I have never agreed more with a Ranking List than this one! This is honestly Par for Par how I would rank the Coasters at Cedar Point!!!

I'm gonna visit this park one day and see what all the fuss is about once and for all. My home park is Six Flags Magic Mountain, the only park that "supposedly" rivals Cedar Point. I don't want to jump to any conclusions just yet so I'll reserve my judgment until after i experience Cedar Point for the first time. Wish me luck.

One thing that is kind of sad is that you never got to experience Blue Streak before they modernized it. It would never have topped anyone's list as a major thrill, but I really liked how it used to be. Nothing but a bar and a light, snappy train. The first time I rode it after the retrofit I was severely disappointed in the experience. At best I can now describe it as mediocre. Conneaut Lake Park used to be my home park so I have many rides on the other Blue Streak you mentioned. Probably been at least 25 years since I have been on it though. Considering the state of that park, I should make a point to get back to PA before it closes for good.

We caught Top Thrill Dragster one time late in the evening We went up to the top but didnt have enough momentum and the coaster flew back down backwards It took the ride operators 4 more times before we barely made it over and down. How fun is that to be hanging up top

Besides Raptor, Rougaru and Magnum everything else I agree on👍🏽

I went to CP last summer, and TTD was running continuously all day. Every time I saw it there was a train on it

I'm totally with you on Raptor. Actually, I'm more harsh with it, and I'm nowhere near as tall as you. I get worse headbanging on Raptor than any other coaster that I've ridden. That's the one ride for me that is a guaranteed headache every ride. Love-hate relationship with Magnum for me as well, but I do put it above Rougarou, which really grew on me on my last visit. We do have the same top 6, just in a little different order.

My first coaster was steel vengeance because my dad said if you go on the big one The others won’t be so bad

And btw could you please give me a good seat on Rougarou? I have ridden once in the middle and hated it but am very open to reride whenever Cedar Point is open again. I’ve heard front and back so can you confirm?

Ryan Stadler i can confirm, the back is pretty smooth. I have only ridden Rougarou, but it was in the back and the ride felt pretty smooth.

I'm planning my first trip there this year. How possible is it to ride all the coasters in a day and for someone who's never done anything more extreme than Rock N Rollercoaster and Phantoms Revenge.

If you can ride those two coasters, you can handle everything at Cedar Point. If you go on a weekday, you should be able to tackle every coaster in one day.

@@XscreamThrills my anxiety is going to be on the inverted, wing, etc coasters. I already have planned to experience Arrow pain but I don't think it'll be worse than the Vegas coaster. (I'm sorry but I don't feel like looking up it's current name.)

Haven't got on TTD yet. All the times I have wanted to get on it is closed ths whole day. Been an elusive credit so far.

I 100% agree with you on rougarou I hear so many people saying that its rough and causes head banging but I dont really get that. I have had a few rides where the head banging was there but its not too bad I have been on coasters with far worst. I like it more than raptor which I feel is overrated, ill go down to kings island if I feel like riding an elite invert.

Do you think Corkscrew could get the vest restraints seen on some Vekoma coasters or even get the Python treatment?

Possibly, but why would Cedar Point invest a good change of money into a coaster that has poor ridership? My guess is this would never happen.
