Won 2 very big dual matches especially one against battle frontier and moreover was so feisty enough to bear electricity , its ultimate weakness. He could just as easily do a Flying type. Pidgeot, Noctowl, Swellow, Staraptor, Unfezant, Talonflame, Hawlucha, Charizard, Butterfree, Gliscor, Noivern and Dragonite

Ash is one lucky kid. He got a lot of cool Pokémon, first being Pikachu, and he ages phenomenally. Seriously, it’s been so many years, yet, he doesn’t seem to get older.

Yeah I agree it deserves to be at least in the top 30 region, but when you actually think about it, Ash only ever used it as a Swellow and rarely used it as a Taillow for any battling. While it did win a lot as a Swellow, you also have to consider how it was used across the series before evolving.

Scraggy isn't bad, and I like it's relationship with Axew, but it being above Swellow is just disrespectful

After all these years it's hard to believe we are actually saying goodbye to Ash as the main character of the anime I just hope the entire Pokemon fanbase is willing to give the new main character a fair chance I know I will.

Basically Unova is a just a soft reboot of Kanto. There are so many Ash's Unova Pokémon that are parallel to his Kanto mon. Krookodile is parallel to Squirtle, they both wearing sunglasses 👓 and both are the leader of the squad. Snivy is a parallel to Bulbasaur, both used to have a former trainer when ash catch them. Pignite and Charizard are the same, since they both got abandoned by their trainer until they travel with Ash. Unfezant = Pigeot Leavanny = Butterfree Scraggy = Primeape

Yeah, I think Ash is in fact a great trainer, the fact that he doesn’t need to know type matchup or evolve his Pokémon, because his training of them make them able to overcome those obstacle. I wonder why something like the Primate had to leave him to be trained. Ash was able to train his Pokémons beyond the supposed limit and that is what makes him special.

Ash's opponents has plot armor most of the time, Red becoming champion in first try make his plot armor infinite compared to Ash Ash has soooo much experience and all those qualities too, he also understand pokemons strength and weaknesses and help them to overcome and get stronger to reach even champion level, his strategies are mostly about his unpredictability that not even other champions can't predict

Also seeing Krookodile only at 21, literally hurts my soul, because it is actually one of my favorite Pokémon owned by Ash, I don’t care if it has almost the same story as Squirtle I loved it every time it was on screen and it is easily Ash’s best unova mon. Believe it or not, the initial reason I played pokemon (Leaf Green at that time) was because of Primeape. The scene where he caught Hitmonlee in the air and then tossed him to the ring was so iconic, for me. And the very first Fighting-type type that I fell in love with was also Primeape.

The only one of Ash's Pokemon besides Pikachu whose not evolving was acceptable. The rest should have had no excuse

I felt really bad for Boldore. I love the Gigalith line, and while you do need to trade Boldore to evolve it, Ash could’ve asked for it back. (I mean Paul had Electabuzz and Magmar, and the only way to evolve them into Electivire and Magmortar is to trade them holding the Electrizer and Magmarizer respectively; yes, the anime doesn’t always adhere to the games, but my point still stands)

I love the video, but I was shocked to see Swellow ranked so low. The poor bird's so underrated. I hope we all remember the lightning armor thing it did with Pikachu in the Advanced series in a gym battle. That was so cool! Also surprised that Butterfree was in front of Staraptor and Dracovish. Staraptor is one of Ash's best birds (might just be my personal opinion) and Dracovish was in Ash's world champion team, already showing how strong it is. On the other hand, Butterfree only has weak physical moves and spore attacks

@@pieterhofkens7259 incineroar never even fought at his full power now that he fully evolved so he's hardly relevant Lucario was Ash's ace in journeys for a reason. Once it evolved, it was almost unstoppable in any official fights and was the only Pokemon to have ever defeated Cynthia's Garchomp, something no one else could ever do

Swellow is best bird what other flying type caught a Donphan's rollout with his feet threw it and knocked it out. Not to mention he defeated Elite 4 level Pokemon in the Battle Frontier. Clearly this was more of a popularity poll.

Swellow went toe to toe against a Latios and he looses to a Pokémon who’s gimmick is to miss!!!

Swellow has many feats and can be considered one of Ash best flying types. Placing it at #52 is honestly a joke.

Pikachu will always be the best Pokemon that Ash has partnered with and I'm honestly going to miss both of them since we're no longer going to see them in Pokemon from now on, it was blast😭👍

There is no way you put Sceptile at 11th, he is at least top 5 or 6

Honestly,out of all the Pokemon ash caught throughout the generations, Pikachu is and will always be the best out of all of them,I can't imagine ash without him by his side, awesome list.

As soon as I saw Swellow that low, it broke my heart. When you actually think about it though, it was only honestly ever used once Ash's Tailow evolved into a Swellow, and therefore gets less time to shine compared to many of the other regional birds Ash owns.

Swellow was definitely one of Ash's best flyers. Its best battles are after it evolved really, as it was great in the 6th (defeated a Swellow before it knew Aerial Ace), 7th (thunder armor), and 8th Hoenn gym (flew underwater to deliver an Aerial Ace). It was excellent in the Hoenn League (caught a Donphan using Rollout) and was a great contender in two of Ash's Battle Frontier battles. I believe a lot of these rankings aren't that good, Corphish is lower than Totodile, Unfezant is the lowest compared to Pidgeot, who was successful in smaller ways, Muk only won one battle, and It didn't show skill in it, etc.

how can you even think to put lucario above infernape

As a kid watching the third pokemon move with Charizard fighting Enti my mind was completely blown.

Okay, Leavanny as 50 is just not fair. It's easily one of Ash's best Unova Pokemon because of how good it was whenever it battled. There was the Bug gym, the Poison gym, and against Stephan's Sawk in the league. I get that it hasn't appeared too often, but whenever it did, it rocked, which is more than I can ever say for some of his other Pokemon *cough* Torkoal *cough*

True very weak pokemons

Greninja is the real strongest Ash pokémon, no gigantamax, no move Z, no megaevolution (Greninja doesn't have mega), just pure power. Becoming Ash-Greninja is something unique that makes him stand out among the others. What Charizard has done lately? the last time he had an official battle, he lost laughably and miserably against Brandon's Dusclops lol, being the only one unable to take down one of his team. Squirtle and Infernape deserved higher.

Still can't believe he abandoned pidgeot like that.

Ash's Gible shooting a Draco Meteor into the shell of Shuckle to launch it in the air then the attack bursting out of Shuckle's shell in mid air like fireworks is actually pretty nuts. How is Shuckle not disintegrated ??

All the rankings were absolutely accurate taking in all the abilities of Ash strongest pokemon of all time. Surely we can now say that he was indeed the very best like no one ever was.

I think greninja would be better than Charizard, greninja and charizard at the end of their series would be almost equal. But, we must keep in mind their potential, to have such a bond that you create a new evolution for a Pokémon is crazy. And if greninja continued to work with ash, greninja would scale to levels far ahead of charizard and maybe even Pikachu, but Pikachu still wins cuz W pikachu

Complete facts, Greninja is wayyyyy more powerful than as seen in journeys ep 108 than he was back in XY, i hated the fact we weren't shown the bond phenomenon, it would easily clap Alain's mega Charizard x now.
