This team is great. It has all three ultimate battle moves (Mega evolution, z-move, dynamax), no Pokémon share the same type, and every Pokémon there has incredible plot armor.

Now Im hoping we see a 35 year old SUPER incredible Ash in Horizons for a guest role or something some time... I cant believe he should technically be a year older than me then... so weird... But dude needs to teach the young kids or be friends with the new anime crew or something along those lines... Not having characters from the original series makes me wonder if its before or after the time period of the various alternate universe Ash variants which somehow are partially convergent depending which characters are in which series but I dont wanna talk about multidimensional ash stuff or i'll give myself a headache...

I agree with this a lot, those pokemon are very powerful with some being better than the other in their own different way, and as a bonus, he can switch teams whenever he fights a different opponent that counters another one of his pokemon

In many leagues, you have battles with other pokémon taking part in other battles, so this 10 poké team seems like a great choice to swap around. Imagine if Unova Ash had pokémon like that to use instead of the abysmal nonsense he ended up using. Like, it just hurts how bad those pokés were vs. every other team (aside from Johto just being overshadowed by Kanto, just like the actual games).

Snorlax should arguably start over Lucario. ​​⁠Powerhouse on a mostly speed based team, only has 1 weakness, and knows ice punch which covers Dragon types

This is actually what I expected for the most part though I had Infernape in over Gengar because of its durability and blaze. But I understand picking Gengar though. I do think had Ash used an “ultimate team” in the anime that for storytelling and nostalgia Infernape would’ve gotten in. In all honestly I would’ve rather seen Ash win the world championship with an “ultimate team” instead of the journeys team

I've come to expect and even understand Infernape being dropped from 'ultimate ash teams' these days. With Lucario and Charizard in consideration, it hurts, but pragmatically Ash benefits more from the extra slot for an off the wall pick like Gengar or Lycanroc, even though the Ash Ketchum move would 100% be to bring Infernape anyways. If I was going to write Ash bringing an ultimate team to the WCS, I'd have Infernape play a major role in another battle, maybe against Cynthia, take down Milotic or Garchomp.

to get an ultimate team, you have to train your pokemon the right way but i guess it doesn't have to be ashy boy hell he was lucky to beat Gary to be honest but i feel Gary let him won against him anyways

They missed such a big opportunity. What I expected from aim to be a pokemon master was, ash will travel with misty and brock and meet his old friends, serena, clemont, dawn, may etc, will reunite with greeninja till episode 8 and will fight a very strong trainer in the remaining 3 episodes(like red, tobias) using his ultimate team.

I'd like to mention about Sceptile and Charizard. Ash would also likely Gmax his Charizard to get the most out of him, and Ash has both a fireium Z and Grassium Z, meaning if you battled against this team, Inferno Overdrive and Bloom Doom are not off the table.

I also wouldn’t mind seeing charizard mega evolve. Pikachu and gengar can already max so having more than one Pokémon that could mega evolve would be great even though I guess you might be able to count ash greninja as a mega i some ways? And of course any mon can use z moves

Honourable mention: Infernape, this Pokemon was released by his trainer (Paul) when he was a Chimchar and deemed as useless. Ash then welcomed him into his team and evolved him all the way into an Infernape. And then Infernape beat the guy who called him useless. THAT is a MIND-BLOWING ARC.

Screw honorable mention, this thing should’ve been on the team. Gengar’s just there to give him a gmax Pokémon, Lucario didn’t even perform that well in the tournament, and it’s implied that Infernape beat Charizard, since after fighting him Infernape moved on to fight Moltres

I agree with most of this. But snorlax has to be included. He's never lost a 1v1 battle. He would always take down 2 pokemon or 1 and then lose to the second. That's an underrated feat that doesn't get mentioned enough. I'd put him in over gengar personally. But the list is great regardless .

I loved lycanroc - I was about 8-9 years old when watching Pokémon sun and moon and when I heard the words “USE COUNTER AGAINST THE COUNTER” I was shocked and I still am

Great ultimate team. Well balanced, well developed, great coverage.

This was definitely what I imagined when I was thinking about Ash’s ultimate team. You got three of arguably the best starter Pokémon in Charazatd, Sceptile and Greninja…throw Gengar with Gigantamax, Lucario with Mega Evolution and Pikachu with Z-moves, and you definitely have both a strong and well balanced team.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thinks this is Ash's perfect team. It is the exact team I am building in SV in homage to the man, the myth, the legend.

I love the effort you put in this video very commendable or in the words of the poke contest judge... Very remarkable 🔥🔥

Make the worst Pokémon team for Ash

These are clearly the best. I think the majority would say so. Not from just their power shown on screen, but the popularity of them. I really hope one day they show us Ash use this power team.

It is worth mentioning that Charizard (apart from being my ever-fave pokemon xD) bailed out Ash in multitude of battles, aside form his early days. He was brought back many times over throut the entire series and is deffo one of his most trusted companions, not to mention an incredible powerhouse (lets just forget that 1 episode about chikorita... -_- ). Infernape may have a very strong blaze and overall be a powerhouse aswell, but most of that was motivated by the existing plot at the time, while Charizard...well...battled way more stronger and diverse set of opponents.

I totally agree! Experience is so important in Pokemon, in the anime and real life competitively as well. So eliminating those with a high win rate, but less than 10 battle was the right way to go! Great vid! Well balanced team! 😊 Also, Ash would love to have his safety core of Electric, Flying, Fire, Grass, And Water in his final team! Plus fighting type suits him so well, and Gengar is an Excellent wild card. Not to mention his team still having 3 Kanto Pokemon on it, much like his Masters 8/Journeys team, for the Kanto representation! He also seems very fond of the qualities of starter Pokemon! Hope to see him using this team someday in the future in a Cameo.. Will be totally worth the wait! ✨😄

I like how every KZreadr includes charizard, greninja, sceptile, pikachu, and lucario for the ultimate team, but nobody agrees who should have the final spot on the team(examples: gengar, infernape, Krookodile, Lycanroc)

This is the same team I would build. The cool thing is, some of those other Pokemon can be swapped in as needed for certain battles. There will be situations where Charizard's flying type would be a liability, and Infernape would be a better bet. Lycanroc and Snorlax could have niches too, and we never saw this in canon, but as a new strategy you could have Charizard and Infernape play off each other with a Sun condition set. But, yeah, a fire-grass-water core, with all generational gimmicks included through Gen 8, AND Pikachu? That's solid.

Personally I would have picked Infirnape over Gengar. However I agree with you in how you explained it. But. If this team had been used in the battle against Leon it would have been wrapped up in one episode.

Honestly I love infernape, but charizard is the stronger of the two You do not want to overlap types so infernape wouldn’t be a starter. IMO I’d rather have snorlax over gengar as he literally broke the rules of pokemon with 6 moves

If Ash had used his ultimate team in the world championship, it would have either ended way quicker or it would have one of the most epic and destructive pokemon battle scenes in the whole series. Or maybe it would have taken a completely different turn.

A lot of these win rates would be higher if Ash didn’t end every battle with Pikachu or his other ace.

Just now, getting to generation 5 team. And I already know that no matter who the other 5 slots are filled up by. If ash had a choice in the matter, Pikachu is not being benched. Period

I agree with this list! I could’ve sworn you were gonna choose Infernate for the 6th spot but was happy you chose Charizard; who has bigger feats and the advantage and unpredictability of flying. Overall, this selection yields 10 different types, which is impressive. He’s got three fast mons; Pikachu, Sceptile, and Greninja, and they’re all powerhouses on their own. And Gengar has fairy coverage against dragons and the move psychic. Sceptile is the most maleable regarding moves too, as leaf blade is his only staple move. And Charizard’s main move is flamethrower. So Charizard and Gengar can learn other type-coverage moves. I’d love to see a video on the moves this team should have!!!!

I think 5/6 of this ultimate team would have to be on any ultimate team for Ash, while you could argue swapping out Gengar for the likes of Snorlax, Krookodile, Goodra, or Lycanroc.

@@thatboyminus Ehhhhh, not as much as Charizard I doubt. (Charizard had dedicated training with an expert, didn't spent most of his time sitting at Professor's Lab doing nothing.) Also, I will never forget that Ash's choice of using Leaf Blade against Latios head on jet attack. How about trying to dodge first to the side next time???

Sceptile did beat blaziken...😂

Even though Ash's Infernape is ridiculously strong, it does unfortunately share the same fire typing as Charizard, Who is widely considered Ash's 2nd or bare minimum 3rd strongest Pokemon. Behind Pikachu and maybe Greninja.

Ash has used same types before, even in his Champion team, he had types that overlap. This wouldn’t make any difference

9:02 First-stage Rowlet who managed to beat a Gumshoos, a Lurantis, Olivia's Probopass, Ryuki's Druddigon, Hau's Decidueye (its fully-evolved form), and Kukui's Braviary. All fully evolved Pokémon beaten by this little guy (in addition to Hala's Crabrawler and Ryuki's Zweilous). Rowlet isn't the best out of Ash's Pokémon, but I think he should have passed the first round (the 'only being in their first stage' thing is thrown out the window with Ash's Pikachu existing).

Charizard definitely takes the spot over Infernape. I agree 100% with that move, also with your entire list. This is Ash’s ultimate team! Edit: Infernare stans coming at me lol

Charizard vs. Infernape was definitely the biggest question. But he does make a good point that Lucario covers fighting type and Charizard’s flight is OP.

@@alexhassestunts yes but if we were to take his ultimate team then,it was already shown that infernape fought Charizard and went to seek for higher power(moltres) so it means that it surpassed Charizard

I agree with your team, except I would trade Gengar for either Lycanroc or Krookodile. Let's not forget Sceptile also kept up with a Speed Forme Deoxys, and is still the only Pokémon Ash owns to not technically lose to a Blaziken. I think Krookodile should be in it just because he is slightly underrated in my book.

If you put speed from Deoxys & Sceptile in a race, Sceptile is definitely getting smoked. If Sceptile is as quick as you claim, why did it get hit by shots it definitely shouldn’t have been hit by. It’s an amazing Pokémon but let’s not devalue one of the most vicious Pokémon for Ashes Sceptile.

hmmm..i can agree with the final draw of that team. It's very solid and versatile.

Agree with this list although it always bothered me how much pikachu plot armor’d through the show. This would be a great competitive team even without plot armor if you remove pikachu

Sucks that you couldn’t have found a place for Infernape but I definitely get it and there’s really no one that can be cut to make room for him

infernape is my favourite till now .... he should be included in this team .....he has done so much for ash....and has the best storyline ever ....

i loved this team ....pikachu can use z move gengar can use gigantamax lucario can use mega evolution greninja can use bond transformation sceptile is argualbly the fastest pokemon of ash and charizard is the best ...so its a great team
