You know what? That’s true! It would’ve given Joker a much more mysterious and almost intimidating feeling if he was announced as “The Wild Card” or “The Trickster”, plus it’s a direct reference to Persona 5/Royal so it would be consistent with how Joker is referred to in the Velvet Room by ‘Igor’ and Lavenza.

Mario having the title of "Mr. Videogame" in the biggest videogame crossover of all time is basically perfect, I seriously love how Smash always talks about how iconic and important Mario is to gaming in stuff like this, the Codec calls, Palutena's guidence and any other thing describing him, he's just that legendary

It's also the context which makes it work even better. "Mr. Video Game Himself" goes super hard when it's in a video game meant to celebrate as many iconic video game franchises at this point, not even just Nintendo. Like... @@vanessasandoval96 That's because you can't afford to make mistakes, it's only when you suffer too much damage that you get knocked off stage, so don't get hit too much. It's like Punch Out, when fighting the harder bosses a couple mistakes is enough to lose. In return Mac has super armor in some of his attacks, his tilts are pretty strong, his counter has pretty good range, a KO punch, and finally his speed allows him to both run away and rush down opponents. Mac can punish super hard but he can also be punished super hard. A true example of an extremely high risk high reward character. So how do you not make mistakes, be patient. Some characters are not meant to play like everyone else.

A brief Kirby Lore factoid that makes his fighter name even better. In Star Allies you fight Void Termina as the final boss and in the arena you’ll fight Void as the stronger variant. Void Termina and Dark Matter is what is born if void is born from negative emotions and malice, Kirby is void but pure positivity instead. “The Pink Demon” then works as a reference to a possible outcome where he became a Destroyer of Worlds instead of Destroyer of Cakes.

Byleth's moniker is very intriguing when dissecting. Byleth's very name comes from a demon, yet Byleth in FE is a human being. That, along with the fact that Byleth isn't fond of being referred to as such makes it more interesting. They're a human being named after a demon, yet their infamousy as a mercenary with them not emoting much made people not want to see them as anything more than a demon. A very cool yet sad moniker.

I'd honestly say, King Dedede's Title, while not the most intimidating, works well with his character as someone who went from a "king" who basically just gave the title to himself, to someone who his subjects actually admire after the many games of King Dedede's small but nice character arc of being a proper hero.

In Japan, Erdrick is THE Legendary Hero. Like, if you were to ask any random Japanese person who they thought of when thinking of the title "The Legendary Hero" (伝説の勇者 Densetsu no Yuusha), 8 out of 10 of them will likely say, "the Hero of Dragon Quest III". The reason why the various Links or the other DQ heroes even have titles other than "The Legendary Hero" is because Erdrick monopolizes it: that's how freakin' big Dragon Quest III is over there.

Another reason Mewtwo's "A Legend Reawakened" is sick is that Boxing Ring is a Smash 4 stage. Mewtwo came back as DLC in that game, which makes it fit even better.

In the Wii Fit series the female trainer is usually the mascot of the Yoga class of exercises while the male is the mascot of the Strength training, don't know if the titles are references to that, just want to bring it up

One thing I like about the boxing ring titles for the Mii Fighters is that, as basic and boring as it is, it kinda implies that they're the same 3 people just constantly shifting and changing their faces at will, fun little piece of lore if that's the case

Shulk's name definitely should've been, "Heir to the Monado." The reference would go crazy.

i haven't been able to find it for a while, but i KNOW it exists. also, there was another meme where ridley was eating an inkling.

“Mr. Video Game Himself” is definitely the best title, Mario is recognizable worldwide even by people who don’t play video games and has appeared in more than 200 of them, it’s just so fitting. The title itself is also smug and confident so it goes pretty well with the boxing ring theme.

Min Min's title may not be the most _creative,_ but it makes the most _sense_ for her. EVERYONE in ARMS got a secondary ring title/nickname (like how Spring Man's is "The Bouncer", Ribbon Girl's is "The Airess", Byte & Barq's is "The Clockwork Cops", Max Brass's is "The Commish", Dr. Coyle's is "The Rad Scientist", etc).

Mario's title is also a reference to Miyamoto wanting to name him Mr. Video in Donkey Kong and include him in every game he made. Not only accurate but also a REALLY niche reference to the goat

9:08 Fire Emblem nerd time The name “Ashen Demon” for Byleth actually became a lot more well known with the release of Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. In Three Houses I think it was mentioned in basically 1 or two support conversations and that’s it, while in Three Hopes that was basically the main way to refer to Byleth. It’s an interesting title to mention since Three Hopes actually only came out in 2022, which is quite a while after Byleth’s DLC release in SSBU

I love how petty is the yoshi title in Spanish "Un gloton que tiene su propia isla y todo" Which traduces to A glutton who has an island and everything

I honestly like this feature, it gives a brief description of the character, so anyone not familiar with them gets an idea of what they're about *to bad that the stage isn't competitively viable, so it'll just go under most people's radar* 💀

While he’s my favorite Hero, and his game is my favorite in its series, I can’t help but think “my dad f***ed a dragon” is an odd thing for one’s title. Though really the Zenithian Hero ain’t much different. Just replace “dragon” with “angel”.

Fun fact: In Spanish, Docter Mario's title is "Te receta Jarabe de Palo" (It prescribes you Stick Medicine), with the Sufix "de palo" meaning when someone beat the other dude in a fight, but also "Jarabe de Palo" is the name of a Spanish Rock Band

These have always been one of my favorite details in the series. Mario's title has and always will be my favorite. It truly shows how massive Mario is as a character and I love it for that reason.

Here are some that I would've gone with for certain fighters instead of what we got: Diddy Kong: The Jungle Racer - A reference to Diddy Kong Racing, which also happened to be Banjo's first appearance. It also emphasizes his agility and speed while sounding way flashier than just "The Acrobat". Doctor Mario: The Painkiller Killer, or The Toughest Pill - He's here to BRING the pain, not kill it! MUCH more badass than "The Prescriber", although I felt like they were onto something because it feels almost like they were edging toward a WWE name there. Shiek: Master of Disuise - Sounds cooler than what they got, plus it's a reference to the reason why Shiek even exists: in Ocarina of Time, Princess Zelda adopted the disguise of Shiek to evade detection from Ganondorf. King K. Rool: The Kremling Kommander - WHY DIDN'T THEY USE A K INSTEAD OF A C, IT SHOULD'VE BEEN KOMMANDER, THAT'S ONE OF K. ROOL'S BIG SCHTICKS! *C'MON!* Banjo & Kazooie: Perfect Sync - This name is just acknowledging their practically flawless teamwork. They always seem to be on the exact same page for whatever move they're about to do together. Imagine having to do that with someone, even your best friend! You'd probably have a LOT of trouble coordinating attacks together like B&K do! Pikachu: The Yellow Bolt - No brainer. Falco: The Ace of Space - Similar to what we got, but it sounds almost like Ace of Spades, which makes it cooler imo. Steve: The Builder of Worlds, or The Landshaper, or The Terraformer -Any of these makes him sound more grand, plus the Builder of Worlds is a nod to a Terraria boss, the Eater of Worlds. Pac-Man: The Yellow Chomper - Just sounds cooler. Female Wii-Fit Trainer: The Zen Warrior, or Perfect Balance - Cooler than Yoga Warrior. No other notes. Bowser: Tyrant Koopa King - Still keeps the part about him being King of the Koopas, but it has more flair to it with tyrant added, plus it's a reference to what the literal translation of Tyrannosaurus Rex is: Tyrant Lizard King.

Omnivore of the year is by far one of the funniest.

I think you should’ve included the fact that master hand can get a name on boxing ring during someone’s (Can’t remember who) classic mode.
