RANGEMAN -- 🔋 Battery Life // 🫀Accuracy

After one week of wearing I deliver an update about the Battery Life and the Heart Rate monitor's accuracy... so far!

NOTE: I say the watch had 5 batteries. I meant to say the battery had 5 bars. That's a common mistake here on this channel. I don't know who to blame. Eventually I'll take personal responsibility and improve. Until then I hope you know what I meant to say.

Agree, but even without apocalypse, I rather use a normal watch (quartz with long life battery) than any smartwatch or mechanical. I already have to recharge my smartphone, a watch can be without this issue.

The original Garmin Instinct, in use since 2019 so 4 and a half years battery is still 3 weeks with HR with BT with automatic activity that triggers GPS if I walk for longer periods, and I did MTB, sweaming, wearing it everywhere like rock concerts, mountain excursion... still no scratches no water went in, it is all good. Sorry for Gshock, but if brand new watch can't match a watch in use for 4.5 years and without solar charging, I guess i will get the Instinct 2X.

I totally agree. I'm a hard core Gschock fan, and I acknowledge them for their sturdiness and quality as they are in a form of "dumb" watches, or dedicated role watches with few sensors like Rangeman or Mudman. So recently I was in a market for capable GPS watch for fitness tracking, hiking, course planning. I don't have to explain why I tested but declined GBD H2000, and bought Instinct 2X Tactical instead, for less money. Day and night software wise. Untill Gschock steps up their game, I'm only using their simple "dumb" models for they are.

Hi Jim, that's the coolest looking watch. One of your audience said it's too heavy and returned it. Moreover, the weight makes it less stable on the wrist so affect the HR accuracy. Okay Jim, that's okay (because it could be worse).....I'm staying with my statement that HR is just a waste of time (that's not what Rangeman should do)....especially based on weight input...I mean, that thing should measure a heart rate no matter what, what does it matters what's your weight? a sensor is a sensor, I mean, during the workout you can lose a 2-3 kilos (or more), so does it means that you should adjust your watch every 15 minutes? How do you know what's your weight at every moment? Even without the workout a weight oscilates during the day.Based on your weight that you don't know exactly at that moment? In my opinion extremely stupid invention, that was just a reinventing of a hot water, which was invented already a couple of thousand years ago. That battery life is bad in my opinion.....Casio had to put some good old fat lithium battery, that should be replaced once in a 2 years, or throw away that sensor....but it seems to me like that direction is basically a direction of the modern times., To me personally that's far from good, but who's asking me?

The weight input (morning) does not affect the heart rate monitor readings at all. The HRM reads your pulse regardless your weight. The weight is needed by the life log widget and similar to calculate your average body status and burned energy (considering weight, age, sex, height and average daily heartrate). And you can`t loose 2 or 3 kilos during one single workout. The only significant weight you loose during the workout is water by sweating, which you refill during or after the workout by drinking again, don`t you? You don`t do daily workouts, do you?
