@@alanyoung5153 Yeah, I agree but..... The ones who oversee what "country music" gets played/promoted, are just as woke as the ones who oversee the dying film industry. They don't want soul affirming music or film, they want all entertainment to be (quite literally) robotic, ugly, and overtly sexual. But if you dig around a little, there's still some damn good country music being made. (it's just not being promoted😉).
That line.." Now i found sombody new and you will never break my heart again" ..that hits hard.
If you've never been there, you simply won't get it. Regret is the biggest killer of men.

Sometimes in life, there’s a song that tells your story… This is that song. 16 years later, there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t think of her. This is when you have to work harder to keep the love alive. I think we all go through the same feelings. Take time to spend special times with each other. We take eac other for granted and we should not do that. Remember your first date anniversary. Go somewhere special with just the two of you. A walk in a park and set up a meal outside with wine or beer whatever you like and dance close. Give each other that first date kiss. Every chance you get do something with just the two of you. You both have to be willing but as I said work at it and you can get the magic back. I did, on a trip to Gatlinburg TN . We made it 52 years and he passed away. Wish I had your problem. Best wishes and love each other.

Good god amighty, this old tune is solid gold.
Free speech on the Internet below. Good singing from Randy Travis. He was good ...tons of great lyrics and the perfect southern draw to belt them out.
I was a teenage mother and lost custody of my two daughters in 1985. When this song came out I cried to it. I wondered if my daughters would reject me after years of not being their mother. This song still breaks my heart. One daughter has accepted me into her life. The other has struggled to find a place for me. I love them both. This song brings it all back.

Contemporary country is the word we use to describe newer country music, except for a few artists who are trying to hold onto the old country sound. Genres do however evolve over the years.

Saw him in the late 1980's...a tall drink of water in jeans! Pray for him as he recovers from his stroke each month...Sad my heart goes out for him...he is singing a bit again.

Aww, bless his heart. I hope that he has made a full recovery. He is a fighter. And an inspiration to thousands upon thousands!! He will forever be a legend!!! Mr. Travis, Sir, I would like to personally, thank you for such wonderful music. I grew up listening to country music.(I was born in '85) Back when it WAS COUNTRY MUSIC!!! My childhood, was amazing, because of it. Every Saturday morning, my mom an I would listen to the countdown. While cleaning the house together!! Good memories. Today's music is NO COMPARISON!!! Jus sayin.

Hello, how are you today? It’s nice to meet you here.
dont care about his drinking , love this music , its so pure , thats what I see when I think of Randy , we all get old and fall down , one point its unevitable , respect what he, s done , he, s a man , not a God , love his music and his conviction , . . . most singers suffer like the artists they are
His voice sounds like honey drizzling on a biscuit.

The first time I heard this song I stopped what I was doing and stopped breathing. I thought about my last high school girl friend. The song still effects me to this day every time I hear it.That last high school girl friend is now my Second wife. We have been married 12 years. Aug 2023 now 16 years married. The I told you so part does not apply to us. The reason is we are in love with each other not just love each other.
