Almost 30 years ago I was on a bus in Korea heading to Camp Casey. We were all just young soldiers in the Army. This song came on and my friend (picture a 6'4" muscular black guy) stood up and started singing beautifully and word for word. Everyone else joined in. I wasn't homesick anymore. I'll never forget that day. Great song.

That's beautiful.
My husband of 43 years passed away in August, 2021. This wasn't necessarily "our" song but both of us felt strongly about the message . Yesterday, I was in the Texas Roadhouse feeling sad and depressed. I don’t listen to country music but this song began to play when I was feeling so very, very low. I believe in the recognizing of signs from our loved ones who have passed away. I KNOW this was Jim's way of putting his arms around me to comfort me. He has 'come' to me before in various ways. I cried silently in my booth through the entire song. This is a song that is timeless. This is what I would like played at my memorial service dedicating it to Jim. Without him (and Randy Travis's voice) this masterpiece would be just another song to me.

I just want to say thank you Randy. I will be celebrating 12 years on the 9th (been married one year on March 17th)with my husband and I'll never forget my pops introducing me this song when i was a child. So for the last 10 years me and my hubby play this song and dance and take a shot of our choice, because to us your songs mean the world to me. But I also want to say thank you. I didn't hear any of your songs since my pops passed away in 2018 and when it came through today while I was cleaning brought tears to my eyes so thank you Randy ❤

This song has always reminded me of my Grandma and Grandpa. At his funeral, they played recordings of the love songs he wrote and sent my grandmother when he was over seas in World War 2. As he ran around Africa with General Patton and then later, stormed Utah Beach in Normandy, he always had time to write my grandma love songs. Even after their passing 36 years ago, this song still stirs vivid memories of their love when I hear it. Great song and great memories.

My grandmother and Grandfather would play this for my father when my father was younger. And then my Father played this for me growing up. Im so grateful for everyone and everything for ever and ever.
Randy, Randy, the very best voice, not just in country. In every genre. I'm thankful I lived at a time when I could hear. To say we miss you is enormous understatement

This was my Mom and Dads song!! Dad used to sing along and dance across the room toward her and give her a kiss!! Played it at their 50th wedding anniversary! 💕They were married for 67 years before they passed away within three months of each other! It’s been 11/12 years and I still miss them everyday, but I know one day we will all be together in heaven!! 💕🙏🏼

Hank Igoe the song is great but the video doesn’t match country. It looks vintage. I would of enjoyed this more if it was filmed out on the great outdoors by a lake with a family having a bbq and the husband dancing. Then it ends with a campfire and the two kissing under the stars.

Why I love Randy Travis - This is a longish story… When I was a young Cadet at the Virginia Military Institute I had a wonderful opportunity to march in George H. W. Bush’s inaugural parade (Millard Fillmore Here!). We were still in uniform later that evening at the inaugural ball and some of us were asked to help with security. I drew one of two peach assignments of standing bodyguard for the talent just before they went on stage. There were two entries and two exits on each side of the stage. While one act was performing, the other following act would wait at the opposite entry. Some of the stars that waited with me were very nice and cordial to the fans, and some were not. Perhaps the biggest star on the ticket turned out to be a complete jerk to the fans. I was one of his biggest fans until that evening. I was able to meet and briefly chat with half of the stars as they waited their turn to go on stage. The other half passed in front of me as they exited, but none of them did anything more than wave at the crowd as they made a hasty exit. Randy Travis entered on the opposite side of the stage and was one of the stars that passed in front of me as he exited. Unlike the other stars, he seemed happy to pause and shake hands with people lining the exit tunnel. A woman leaned over the railing when he was literally halfway down the tunnel and shouted “We Love You Randy!” At that point he turned around came back up the tunnel to make sure he told that woman face to face that he loved her too and stood several minutes talking with her and other fans. It was just a few minutes, but that woman almost certainly has never forgotten the “hour or two” that she spent talking with Randy Travis. He was so down to earth and genuinely kind in his comments to her and the other fans. I shook hands with him (his hands are HUGE!!) but didn’t think to get a picture. I am an African American male who had ZERO interest in country music at a time when Rap music was king and New Jack Swing was just coming into its own. Hard to believe, but I have listened to Randy Travis for all of my adult life now…and I am nearing 50. I hope someday to meet Randy Travis again in person to thank him for a life-changing experience. There are a lot of people out there (Black and White) who like me dismissed country music and country music fans as throwbacks to a darker time in American history. One man’s kindness to a fan at an event where other “stars” were carrying themselves like petulant children forced me to see an important truth about people - who you are as a person on the inside will always show through the glitter on the outside - who you truly are trumps everything else whether you like it or not - and there is nothing you can do about it except stay who you are or work to become a better person. I am not White, I am not conservative, but I am a proud Randy Travis fan!!! I

Lyrics: You may think that I'm talkin' foolish You've heard that I'm wild and I'm free You may wonder how I can promise you now This love that I feel for you always will be But you're not just time that I'm killin' I'm no longer one of those guys As sure as I live, this love that I give Is gonna be yours until the day that I die Oh, baby, I'm gonna love you forever Forever and ever amen As long as old men sit and talk about the weather As long as old women sit and talk about old men If you wonder how long I'll be faithful I'll be happy to tell you again I'm gonna love you forever and ever Forever and ever, amen They say time takes its toll on a body Makes the young girls brown hair turn gray But honey, I don't care, I ain't in love with your hair And if it all fell out, well, I'd love you anyway They say time can play tricks on a memory Make people forget things they knew Well, it's easy to see, it's happenin' to me I've already forgotten every woman but you Oh, darlin', I'm gonna love you forever Forever and ever amen As long as old men sit and talk about the weather As long as old women sit and talk about old men If you wonder how long I'll be faithful Well, just listen to how this song ends I'm gonna love you forever and ever Forever and ever, amen I'm gonna love you forever and ever Forever and ever, forever and ever Forever and ever, amen

HI there my name is Logan. I really like this song and so does my mom. My mom and I always sang this together. My dad passed away in June in 2017 and I was 16 years old 😢 when my dad passed away because he had heart problem before he passed away 💔 I miss him alot. I know how it feels to lose someone and they are in better place. Our loved ones are not suffering anymore but they are with you and they are with God and they are looking down for us.
Prime Randy Travis was a thing to behold my goodness.
The man was born to sing. most gifted unique voice and a natural singer in country history bar none. and one heck of a actor in westerns.

Plus the ones that have been around for awhile... Brad Paisley, Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, Toby Keith, Keith Urban, Dierks Bentley, and the traditional guys still active: Alan Jackson and the king himself, George Strait. My name is Charlie. I've spent the last several years counseling chronic substance abuse, utilizing 12 Step Programs with both NA and AA alike, and physically picking homeless people up off of the streets, out of the tents, and out from the bridge camps. Put a roof over their heads, explain the rules, contact the families, engage them in recovery programs, give hands-on job assistance, and even recover lost driver's licenses, SS cards, etc., etc., not to mention helping with outstanding legal issues. I just wanted to say, that I stumbled across your post by accident, just listening to a favorite old song, and that you are obviously a special person with one of the most special hearts I've seen. It took me completely by surprise. Here you are, just a friend, speaking out, while most of the blood families I've dealt with always say the same things when I talk to them. They start like this... "Oh Charlie, what can we ever do for you for saving our son/daughter?", my reply, "well, now that he/she has hit rock bottom, is off of the street, and sincerely wanting restoration, the greatest thing you could do, is to re-embrace him/her, accept him/her back into the family home to make space for the next person to be saved, and let him/her remain in the programs". The answer sadly is always, "oh, no, umm, we can't do that, he/she caused too much trouble in the family, I'm sorry". They have nowhere to turn. And even worse, they get to a point quickly, where it's safer to reject help, turn down literally anything, to avoid being rejected or hurt ever again. Hard row to hoe. I told you this story and ultimate truth, so that you'll know how better to deal with the true issues. I will pray for you, and for her.
Music can remind me of great times feelings and memories I'd forgotten. Music makes the world go 'round!
