They had multiple 2 possession leads in this game AT HOME and could not put the rams away. You can't blame one call for losing you the game.

I don’t think rams fans need to apologize. I feel like a lot of people play revisionist history with regards to this game. Yes the refs missed the call but it doesn’t come down to just that play and that call. The saints as a team didn’t look the same down the stretch during the year as when they started. Drew Brees got outplayed by Jared Goff after the saints got out to the early lead, something nobody wants to say out loud. On the rams side, Robert woods slipped after he caught a pass that he could’ve taken to the house that would’ve changed the game, the rams also didn’t have gurley at fully health which could’ve helped the rams even more, not to mention gurley dropped an easy pass that got intercepted and gave the saints the big lead early to begin with. The rams could’ve gone for it on fourth and goal instead of kicking the field goal which also could’ve swung the game big time in their favour. The saints got lucky on the throw to ted ginn that the defender played it terribly and then they basically wasted a down by deciding to throw instead of running it to set up that play. Then Drew Brees got the ball first and threw a horrible pick in overtime to seal the game. The other thing I’d mention is that if Michael Thomas is as great as everybody says he is then he needs to make a bigger impact in a game like this to help his team win. Overall it was a close game and I think the rams played better in the second half anyways and if drew brees and Sean Payton are that great you find a way to win despite one bad call from the refs, if I thought the saints were clearly the better team and played better than game I might agree with most people’s sentiment but I just don’t see it that way.

@@nwobringiton1282 every play counts and every second counts. The Saints did find a way to win. Payton called the perfect play on 3rd down and Brees threw it right to the receiver. So it’s their fault the defender was allowed to just run the WR over? How bout when the Rams went to tie the game on the last second FG to send it in over time the Saints just blatantly jump offsides and run over the kicker before the ball was snapped and the refs don’t throw a flag and the Saints win the game because all they had to do was tackle the holder because there wasn’t a kicker to kick the ball. So he just held the ball And got tacked. Ball game over Saints win. Would you blame the Rams special teams coach and Sean McVay if that happened? Both teams were 13-3. It was going to be a close game. So because there’s bad officiating the Saints have the responsibility to not only winning the game but they have to blow teams out and make sure it doesn’t come down to the end. Tom Brady has 7 Superbowls. The one he won this year with the Bucs was the first time it didn’t come down to him putting together a game winning drive. Games of this magnitude often come down to the very end. The refs can not blow calls that are that obvious. He didn’t even try to make a play on the ball and it was helmet to helmet. This game had 4 referees from Southern California that was a so called “oversight” by the NFL. I AM A BITTER SAINTS FAN WHO WILL NEVER GET OVER THIS. The Saints often choke games away on their own. In this game they got robbed!!!

@@breauxcewayne1971 I never said it wasn’t pass interference but I don’t agree they were robbed because they weren’t very good down the stretch of that season, hell they probably would’ve lost the week before if Alston Jeffery hadn’t dropped the pass. They gave the eagles a chance and they blew it, they gave the Rams a chance and they capitalized. I’m gonna quote my favourite player of all time Ray Lewis and what he said when the ravens lost to the Patriots that had questionable officiating that they probably should’ve won because it perfectly sums up team sports. “Everybody’s going to say oh billy should’ve made the kick or Lee should’ve caught the ball, well maybe I should’ve made those tackles in the fourth quarter, so anything can cost you, so there’s no one person you can put blame on. We came here as a team, we locked and loaded as a team, let’s make sure we leave on a team” If Sean Payton was half the leader Ray Lewis is and not just a glorified offensive play caller with a bad temper he would’ve said something similar. “The refs should’ve called pass interference” well maybe they also should’ve called the two face mask calls they missed on Jared Goff. Maybe drew Brees should’ve played better in the second half. Maybe Sean Payton should’ve found a way to get his all pro receiver Michael Thomas involved in the game plan more. Maybe Dennis Allen should’ve paid attention to how their division rival Falcons lost the super bowl two years earlier and learned that if you have a lead and you have a young secondary don’t just rush 4 and leave them to play man to man because eventually you will give you big plays. Either blitz them or drop them in zone coverage so they keep everything in front of them and funnel everything to the middle of the field. Maybe the Saints offensive line shouldn’t have missed the block that lead to drew Brees getting hit and the ball being intercepted, maybe drew Brees being a hall of famer should’ve thrown the ball away or taken the sack. Sean Payton’s staff and players, as well as himself made a lot of mistakes and played sloppy in certain parts of the game that if it didn’t cost them this week it would’ve cost them against the Patriots. Instead of admitting his team made mistakes and weren’t playing to the level they had been earlier in the year, the level you need to play at to win these big games, he blamed the refs. This is the reason Sean Payton has 1 Super Bowl with the help of a hall of fame QB in his prime and solid defense lead by Gregg Williams and that’s it.

Fun fact- the nfl actually admitted to being wrong with the no call...

The game is definitely rigged to a certain degree no matter how people claim the refs are unbiased! In the AFC, the refs are programmed to favors teams such as Patriots, Stealers, Colts. In the NFC, teams such as the Rams, Giants, and 49ers are going to get the favorable calls by the refs. Refs almost always favor Northeastern and California teams (Rams and 49ers). If a team such as the Texans or Saints going to win the Super Bowl, they are going to have to do it despite the refs calling the games against them. It doesn’t mean they can’t ever do it, it just means it’s going to be much much harder for them to win than teams such as the Patriots, Rams, Stealers, Colts, etc!

You're comparing a situation with a "probably could've scored a touchdown" to a situation with a "definitely could've won the game". Jeremy Jones since it seems like you’re new to the nfl let me enlighten you. The nfl rule book states “No player shall grasp and control, twist, turn, push, or pull the facemask of an opponent in any direction”. In the play the saints lineman may have brushed Jared’s facemask but he never controlled it. This was also done to try to force a fumble where as Robey-Coleman even said that his goal on the missed call play was to commit a pass interference.

You can clearly see that that was pass interference.

He still is. Oline was ranked dead last all year . Cant remember the last time a pocket QB had a great year with the worst oline. And he still almost passed for 5000 yards and hella touchdowns

Best nfl season ever 1. My home team which sucks, the bears, actually made it to wild card 2. Both conference champion games went to OT 3. Plenty of awesome regular season games all around 4. Superbowl was kind of close if you count 10 points

Your comment makes sense.. if... if.... if... then... Saints should be on 1st and goal and yea, there was 0,00001% chance they don´t score TD.. This isn´t about luck dummy, it´s about refs..

Imagine blowing a 13 point lead in your own stadium getting the ball first in OT, throwing an int in OT, then blaming the refs for you losing ☠️

@Tom Tom No one is saying the no call wasn't ridiculous. But no guarantees Saints would have scored a TD with it. They had a 60% red zone conversion rate, so not certain by any means. The throw itself was poor and should've just been picked off by Robey-Coleman. Rams had been screwed only minutes earlier but no one moaned. Better still, Chiefs definitely would've made the Superbowl had that ridiculous call of roughing the passer not been called. Never heard Chiefs fans whine about it for longer than a day. They got over it and came back to win the Superbowl the following year. Saints never get out of victimhood mentality even when they won OT coin toss and still lost possession with interception and a home crowd that didn't even allow Goff to hear any instructions in his helmet. All those advantages and they didn't win. They choked. Plain and simple. But can't ever admit it.
