Join me as I fumble around trying to act like I know how to be a KZreadr. No Videographer, Speaker or KZreadr here, just winging it the best I can.
Talking about trips, accessories, thoughts and just generally enjoying the great North Carolina weather this evening.

    I'm glad to see you have a new video. We got wet on the BRP last Saturday, but still we had a good time on my 2015 RTS. We have looked at the 2020/21 RT's 2 times now, and its so nice.

    I haven't been riding to work because of the heat. I'm out in the heat all day and the AC feels good in the afternoon.

    Have you considered installing SpyderPops grills at the wind tunnel scoops? Cleaning the love bugs from the radiator fins is no fun in love bug season here in Florida

    Hey Bill, Here in Central NC we don't have the love bug issues like you guys do. I do remember vacationing in FL one year and my car was covered in bug mess like I've never seen before, so I understand where your coming from. But I haven't looked into any of the grills yet for the 2020.

    Thanks for the reply Red, my only concern is maybe too much air restriction of air flow with the grills installed. Getting the but body's out was not too difficult, just use a garden hose from the back side of the radiator, but letting them dry out might be an issue. Those grills are a bit pricey at $132, but then it is a motorcycle product and you know how that goes.

    How do you pack for trips, 2 up riding? Do you have special/custom bags for the side cases or fronk?

    Jim, If it's a day trip just pack what we need for the day. If you planning to pack for more there are shaped bags that you can purchase from Can-Am and third party venders that fit in the Frunk and Saddle Bags.

    How does the new vent hole placement in the windshield affect you ? Is it cooler? Do normal motorcycle Ram Mount motorcycle handlebar mounts work or do they have to be modified?

    James, I can't really tell a major difference and the 2020 is a drastic redesign. So I can't really compare it to my old 2015 RTS.

    I'm considering purchasing a can am. I've never owned a motorcycle. My question may seem silly to someone who rides. But what happens when you have a flat tire and you are on an extended road trip? You obviously don't carry a spare tire like a car. I'm just wondering if I was driving across the desert in Arizona and I have a flat? Do I just have to hope to have cell service and call someone? Thank you.

    I have an aerosol tyre filler on board. Some have those plug and repair kits with CO2 bottles. I had the same concerns in the beginning.

  • @ridnwithred5607

    @ridnwithred5607

    Ricardo, As Brett stated with his reply. For a simple tire puncture you can use a plug and a CO2 kit or battery air compressor to get back on the road. Also if you have a new Can-Am it will come with a 2 year B.E.S.T (Think that's what it's called) warranty that covers towing. Also most motorcycle insurances have towing included or is an option. Hope that helps.

    Hi I am 52 years old and I am really thinking of buying a Can Am Spyder, first I have never ridden a motorcycle, so I will need to pass the test and go for the course on how to ride one. One of my questions would be is, are Can Ams seen better by cars and trucks? The reason why I ask is on regular motorcycles, they only have one wheel in front and one in the back, so they’re very narrow. Isn’t that why they have a tendency of getting hit more? Another question would be, would you buy it as a main automobile? I mean my wife has a van, but I would be given up my Explorer for this. I would be driving it good weather and bad. Do you think it would be a good idea? I can’t wait to hear from you. Thanks

    Hey Rick, many questions there. Visibility - yes and no, you can add light kits to the Spyder to make it more visible but today’s drivers are more distracted than in the past. Main Vehicle - I can’t answer this directly. What I can say is that the Spyder is great in the rain as long as you run appropriate speeds and have good tire tread. So if your willing to deal with a wide temperature range and weather conditions, go for it. I’m comfortable on the bike into the 30 degree range in cold weather. In the spring through fall, I don’t mind getting caught out in the rain. But I try not to start in the rain if I have a choice. This isn’t because of fear, just requires more cleaning and maintenance when riding in the rain allot. Hope this helps.

    Hey George, well at around 60-75 on the highway with the shield up or down it's great, and it will do it all day long without issue. When I commuting here on the highway I'm normally running 80 just to keep up with traffic as I had rather be aggressively defensive (Allowing myself to control the distance of cars around me) as opposed to riding slower and worrying about people hitting me from behind. At 80+ you get way more buffeting and just being pushed around by dirty air.
