They are two of my favorites and my god I love hearing them sing this song together,it’s perfection
I remember snuggling on my papaws lap while him and Ralph sat in the dining room singing this song. I've always loved this song.
Some of the best singing of Ralph I've ever heard> Beautiful and effortless. He brings out the best in others.
Patty Loveless - a huge fave! Pure Kentucky voice.
She is one of the real country singers not like this trash we have now.
The best of the best right there. Bluegrass as good as it gets. Ralph Stanley RIP! Patty, my all time favorite female singer.
Best version of song I've heard.
She is definitely, my favor Country/Bluegrass singer, just love her voice and a looker too, then and now.
Absolutely the most beautiful woman i ever seen and can sing perfectly too
I never can pass this Video up. Great Song. Great Duet. Great feeling when they Sing it. Get down with em. This Songs meant to do that to people.
Just outstanding love this version
this was just pure joy, nor just for us but for them to being it to us
The lyrics of this song are utterly devastating. When I first heard it, music was so good I didn't hear the story right away.
We saw Patty and Ricky meet up on stage at 11am at the IBMA a couple years back. She was scheduled to perform during Ricky’s set later that night. They worked up leads and harmonies on 4 or 5 songs on a hot mike with no instruments and no audience. They chatted between songs and broke into Daniel Prayed. Good Lord. Take me Jesus!
This is my all time favorite version chills every time could listen over and over good stuff
You get a compliment from Ralph Stanley like that you know you succeeded in what you set out to do
Epic recording! Every one of the musicians nailed it!
Most amazing version of this song I've jrae

Hello 👋 how are you doing?
The CD that was made from this show is one my favorite bluegrass albums
Highlight of the CMA's tonight was Patty tryin to get Out of Harlem Alive! Chilling
Oh Polly, Pretty Polly, would you take me unkind Polly, Pretty Polly, would you take me unkind Let me set beside you and tell you my mind Well my mind is to marry and never to part My mind is to marry and never to part The first time I saw you it wounded my heart Oh Polly Pretty Polly come go along with me Polly Pretty Polly come go along with me Before we get married some pleasures to see Oh he led her over mountains and valleys so deep He led her over hills and valleys so deep Pretty Polly mistrusted and then began to weep Oh Willie, Little Willie, I’m afraid to of your ways Willie, Little Willie, I’m afraid of your ways The way you’ve been rambling you’ll lead me astray Oh Polly, Pretty Polly, your guess is about right Polly, Pretty Polly, your guess is about right I dug on your grave the biggest part of last night Oh she knelt down before him a pleading for her life She knelt down before him a pleading for her life Let me be a single girl if I can’t be your wife Oh Polly, Pretty Polly that never can be Polly, Pretty Polly that never can be Your past recitation’s been trouble to me Oh went down to the jailhouse and what did he say He went down to the jailhouse and what did he say I’ve killed Pretty Polly and trying to get away
I loved ❤️ listening to this song ever since I could remember

My little brother was born in 1947 and they named him Ralph Stanley so I guess my folks must have been Stanley brothers fans. My little brother passed away in his early 40's.
