Rally Car Tube Front End Build | Fabricating And Bending The Main Tubes

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

With a lot of random difficulty I managed to get the main tubes bent up and fabricated for the tube front end on the gc8 Rally car. I did run into a lot of issues with my tube bender but, after a while, managed to get it done.
It is quite the slow and tedious process getting everything exactly where it belongs, but the front end seems to be coming together nicely! Soon we'll have the remainder of the tubes fabricated and welded in place.

    So glad when I saw your recent update. Literally followed your build from the beginning. I believe I showed up at the 3rd or 4th video into your build. I know what it's like to get burnt out. You're a hard worker. You inspired me to get stuff knocked out on my foxbody. Thank you.

    bro watching your videos have been super informative. Its also been an inspiration to go dig out my old 94 Impreza I started on years ago. I've in the last couple of days stripped the interior and now assessing body damage and I suppose start getting some ideas on structure support and caging. Rally has been a dream of mine since I was a teen, and now that i have an old junk car sitting around i would like to use it as an opportunity to perhaps turn my dream into a reality. Thanks for your information and taking to take the time to be detailed and professional. keep up the good work homie

    Hey inspiring others is super important especially when it comes to acompmishing those dreams, dreams that one might think they can't achieve and someone can enlighten and inspire a person enough to push them to achieve. Its still a dream in the making. But I too hope one day we can meet on stage. What state are you located?

    Love the details! What are your welder settings when you're TIG/MIG'ing the tubes?

  • @DirtyGarage

    @DirtyGarage

    3 жыл бұрын

    Thanks! For TIG generally 95-100 amps with the .095 tubing, and unfortunately for MIG my welder doesn't have control over IPM or voltage, just the knobs that you rotate to their recommended settings. I typically run .035 wire in the mig and 1/16 or 3/32nd filler rod

    Hi, greatings from Colombia! I would like to know: 1. how the copilot notes work? 2. Do you practice MTB or Downhill on your bike?

  • @DirtyGarage

    Hey, for the way we do notes it's a 1-6 rated system for the degree of the turn. 1 being pretty much a hairpin and 6 being a very small radius of a turn and usually everything else you come up with yourself, I.E. crests, jumps, cut, off camber, no cut.. I do mountain bike quite a lot and enjoy downhill type trails, but my bike is more of an all full suspension mountain bike rather than a dedicated DH bike.

    Are there specs from NASA/ARA/FIA for guidelines as to what's allowed/configurations for making a tube front end for rally racing? Does it change based on class?

  • @DirtyGarage

    @DirtyGarage

    They don’t have any specifications that you would have to meet, but it will bump your up to an open class. Whether that’s open 4wd, open 2wd, or NA 4wd
