Jesus dude. I didn't realize how much effort it took to make a roll cage!

Yup, that's why installers charge so much for them . Especially a Rally cage

I was impressed it was the same girl the whole time and she even helped!
Boi I waited a week to watch the same recap of what I’ve been watching for months. GET THE RALLY FOOTAGE OUT!

Lol it'll be out soon, I was working on this video for awhile before the rally though.
Dude your girl is there chilling in the garage with you while you work on your project.. that’s a keeper!! Now that’s wifey material!!
This is amazing work. I'm even a bit envious, man I wished I could be as skilled as you to do this. And to even top off the video, you've picked the best car to do it in, long live Subaru!!!!!!!
I can't thank you enough for your videos. You are such a highly motivated person and inspire me to make and do things that I don't even know how to begin doing. If you don't mind me asking how much did your build cost? And where did you learn the skills to fabricate?
@DirtyGarage
5 жыл бұрын
Thanks man it's been a fun build. I had general fabrication skills from growing up working on cars, but a lot of it came from learning from the internet and lots of practicing and of course learning from people I know who actually are really good at it. I've got to add it all up and it will probably be painful haha, when I do though I'll put a video out on it!
Man we have had some good times the past few months. Amazing work was awesome to watch!!!! Can't wait for that rally footage lol
Right, I know I’m a bit late n I’m only 15 but to be a rally driver is my dream, been saving since 11 going strong 💪

That roll cage is a work of art!!!
This was mad impressive. Very inspirational

Super cool vid. Love seeing your lady help you out too 💪🏻
Nice datsun in the background
Dude that looks sick
Thank you for this video. I hope to learn everything necessary to make a rally car, I want a daily rally lol
I watched every episode when it came out. This was a coos series
You are one talented young man
KEREN !!! HEBAT!!! Great job man .....
Great vid man thats a pretty sick build for being done in a garage it seems to have turned out great

Thanks dude! It's a rough looking car but seems to work fine so far.
Bro, you really have my three dream cars. 240 street daily, 07wrx built weekend driver, and gc8 rally. Exactly what I’ve been longing for 😅
Building the cage yourself is crazy unless you are already into welding. All the rally guys will tell you to buy a car with a cage and logbook or you'll quickly put 40k into a 4k car. Amazing work though man living the dream while I rallycross a Corolla lol.
Good job mate. I have the same car,its rally car but ı dont have time for him. Your video motivates me.
I like the roll cage to prevent accident and I like the t45 roll cage
Freakin awesome dude!! Awesome skills!! I'll be subscribing so please keep 'em coming!!
Awesome!
Excellent, I'm impressed, enjoy 👍
Daily dose of motivation
Badass dude 🤘🏼
Inspirational.
Fricken awesome
Nice vid, liked and subscribed
AMAZING
After seeing how much work it took for the roll cage I think it might be a wiser choice for me to get a pre built rally car second hand, didn't realize it takes that much work
Bro what a video and congratulations on that car. I've been wanting to get into rally but I have a 99 EM1 Civic which I cannot strip out and turn into a rally car because it's very very cherry. But anyways I'm trying to get into rally so I might have to end up selling this car which I don't want to but just trying to learn how to build a cage right now thanks for the video God bless
Your advert brought me here, nice build!
This is a big goal of mine! You killed it! Maybe one day we will race together 😂
Oh to be young and full of energy!!
Four months is a heck of an accomplishment. We probably had longer than that accumulated in ours.
Amazing work on the GC! That cage though.. wow. Impressive!
Alternate title: welder shows welding skills
DUDE. I watched a lot of your videos because I'm doing some very similar Fab work (not for rally, and thank God not an FIA cage). Very informative content, and you're doing a good job. But this video really was spectacular. Loved it. Have fun racing the car, and I hope more people find your channel. I think the only reason you don't have more views/subscribers is because there's a lot of car guys out there but not a lot of them take the plunge to build a real race car. But I've found it really helpful seeing someone else go through the same process of building a cage, methods, design decisions, etc. Rally footage should help views though! Bravo 👏

Thanks dude! That was an awesome comment to read. I think you’re right about not many people being too interested in an actual race car being built, especially on a budget since it isn’t very flashy, but I’m super happy it has helped out a few guys with their builds so far!

@@DirtyGarage well you made a budget build look professional. I had street cars for a long time like your average car guy, until i had my first wheel to wheel racing experience. Then, like you probably did, I had to make the decision to invest my money in what was my real car interest... Actual racing. Like I said, it's hard for your average car guy to relate to a roll cage build with all the specific details. But rallying is hugely popular even if not a lot of people do it. When you get more rally videos up I think people will start to discover and appreciate the channel. Who knows maybe you'll inspire new racers and they'll turn into builders like us! Keep it up!
Nice👍
This was well done. Sub’d.

I didn't get a chance to film any of it. It was all pretty straightforward though and I would recommend talking to the scrutineer that you plan on having check the car before hand, that way you can send pictures to him and figure out if anything might fail.
Bro what a daily driver, that is literally Bunta Fujiwara's Car from initial D

how do you even go about learning how to do this man you’re so fucking cool

Yup lol, but I suppose that's the same with any car you race or put a lot of work into.
videos are brilliant, i am not sure what the regulations are where you are from but i have a few questions about the car did u need to get the roll cage certified as it is home built? also watched the on-board from you and your wife and noticed a tablet, what app was that as i'm building a rally car also and don't have tons of money to buy a trip meter and expensive gear, thanks
@DirtyGarage
4 жыл бұрын
The car had to go through the normal initial scrutineering, which is very in depth and they’ll actually drills some small holes and make sure the material is correct, the geometry is correct on belt placements, and all the other specific rules. Then they’ll stamp the cage with the logbook number and issue the logbook to the car. The app is called rally trip meter, I think it’s like 40 bucks for the full version and definitely worth it. The accuracy is pretty good, but you can improve it quite a bit with a Bluetooth GPS dongle with a better refresh rate of around 10hz, the mileage tends to be off a little on longer stages by around .05-.15 of a mile with the standard 1hz GPS in the tablet.

I never came up with a name for it and I'm 6 feet and I fit in fine, it helps positioning the seat exactly where it needs to go though.
That was like 1/4 built, then jumps to it finished..

im having a hard time on where to even begin with a race car build i have two cars 1 its paid off thank god but i have another note on my dodge dart plus 2 kids rent which is $1200 mo anyone have any suggestions other than save up cause that not the issue.
@logantrenkle1615

Well I certainly would try to avoid more debt. I think that saving up is the best way to do it. Take your income, and budget some every month towards race car building. It might take a while, but the wait will be worth it. You still have to be able to support your family though. You gotta balance those things. I suppose another option night be to pay off your other car as quickly as possible, making larger than minimum payments. Then, when you have finally paid it off, continue putting that same amount of money per month into your race budget. Just some thoughts.
@DirtyGarage
4 жыл бұрын
I definitely recommend what Logan said, it's not worth it to build a racecar if it will only make your life more stressful with debt.
So are we just not gonna talk about how this man got a piece of metal stuck in his hand...it could of gone a lot worse though
#Subienation
One thing you did incorrectly. The seats should have not been tied into the body structure, they should have been tied into the cage. When and if shit hits the fan, you want to be in the cage, not the body.

You needed that indian dude as a driver, he would've let you know you were breaking the car. Then you couldve saved it
This is cool, but kinda feels wrong. Where I live Subaru’s that age are never in that good of condition. It’s just kinda sad to watch a rare old RS coupe get chopped up like that. But, it’s his build so I’m glad he was able to do what he wanted with it.

I know it looks clean, but it's actually a salvaged car that was totaled, plus it was from Baltimore so the rust was pretty bad on it and I had to replace almost every piece underneath it with parts from a JDM GC8.
