Hi Katie and Greg. Katie you did your usual fantastic job of editing and assambling a great video for us. I always enjoy seeing the goats and what they are up to and I loved seeing Juniper and Aspen rolling on their backs and showing their great teeth while playing 😃 The grass is really coming in nicely where you seeded a few weeks back, starting to look very nice. It is an absolute delight watching you two working together as you were in this video. Katie, you have grown and progressed so very much over time and now your skills are very impressive! You now anticipate and know what to do without needing much guidance at all; you are very impressive Katie!! You should be very proud of yourself and I'm sure Greg is as well. He continues to be more relaxed and enjoying himself and his full time homesteader role since being able to step away from his roofing job. I am so happy for you both as you are building and living your dream. Have a great week. Larry, Central Valley, Ca.

I grew up on a farm/ranch and then after college, I became an engineer. My biggest regret is not using PPEs (Personal Protective Equipment) and now at 72 years old, I have a lot of issues for being a hard-headed person. Loss of hearing, back and joint pain, lots of eye issues for not wearing safety glasses, and injuries to my hands and feet for also not wearing the right shoes and gloves. Please take every precaution that you can. Your friend in Kansas, USA.

The barns looking great! Id personally put polycarbonate or clear corrugated (or even acrylic sheeting or "plexiglass as its known as at times" as this can be much stronger and is UV stable meaning it will last for years from sun abuse but may be more expensive of course - youd have to figure out the costs of replacing the others over the span of a few years maybe to how long the plexiglass will likely last you vs costs to figure out the most cost affective) in at least one panel either side of the dormer for the same reasons you are doing it for the dormer! It will basically act almost like a skylight, but might be handy in winter for the animal side too to help hold some heat from any sun you may get also :) the summer you can easily have doors open etc for great ventilation and to help cool it down but in winter it may be that a skylight might just help increase the temp inside even a little on sunnier days ❤. Great job guys! X

Dormer looks great. For not knowing what you were doing you decided to build the hardest dormer. Every rafter is at different angles. Finishing my shop and getting my tools setup was a complete game changer. Doing projects are so much easier when you don't have to first setup the tools and then break it all down at the end of the day. Thanks for the video.

When you are trying to determine an angle cut, rest the workpiece across the members and take your 90° Square against the inside of where you want it to go. You can then score the line according to its location. Account for the blade width also ...

I don't know if you guys have seen them, but they have these solar panels now days that are semi transparent so you can use them as a roof and have light come through. Not much more than normal white backed panels. Just something I was thinking for your new shop so it can have it's own independent power supply and have natural shaded light come through.
