This is the reason why Russia invaded to prevent the NATOizataion of Ukraine.

Indians need to read Arthashastra - foreign policy needs to be brutally realistic - based on facts. It can be couched in wonderful ideas etc but it’s not necessarily ideologically inspired. Imperative is for a large power to attain and expand power at all costs. So i think Americas can talk a lot about democracy but it’s focus is to maintain dominant hegemonic power come what may and that’s the appropriate thing for them to do. Other countries such as China which think they can become a hegemonic power will do everything they can to do so. Countries like India have to figure out their role in the context this situation - not driven by ideology but how to make the best of the current and future scenarios for their benefit.
