I've always been struck by their use of the word, Necromancer. Traditionally, necromancers are thought to raise the dead... but they could also commune with the past, so perhaps that interpretation applies here.

I dont think anyone is time traveling.

The reason it was all lush when they came out of the hole is because they are in the "tropical zone" that has been spoken about all season. Also showrunner confirmed that the tropical zone is an island continent so we will see water next season. This doesnt rule out your time travel theory but it does refute the notion that everything was lush BECAUSE they time traveled.

I was expecting more of a biblical reference in regards to Paul and Sol - also did you notice how when they go through the core of the earth it looks like sperm meeting an egg

First time I saw the last ep I thought “wtf, this snake can even go back in time to prevent it’s own death”, but I immediately watched this part again and I really think they just reached the other side of the planet. BUT now that I saw this video, time travel might show up, it explains a lot, but I don’t think it’s there yet, I still think mother and father are just at the tropical zone of the planet. BTW father is my favorite character of the show, he is really well played by Abubakar Salim

I think you're close but I dont think time travel has anything to do with it. My opinion: We originated on Kepler B. They went through much of the same problems we have (nuclear war, differences in ideology) and came to same conclusion we did, move to another planet. This makes the entire circular, as we've now done the same but in the reverse, with the story slowly revealing Kepler to be the origin point if humanity. The cave paintings are telling the story of the end of kepler when they left for earth. Here the mythraic (sp?) scriptures are literal translations of ancient technologies that got humans from kepler to earth. The onus for sending us back to Kepler could also be rooted here, with enough time passing to make Kepler habitable again. I dont see time travel making an appearance here.

If life started on Kepler B, this means at some point they went to earth and at some point they came back (start of the show). Going back and forth between the same 2 planets sounds like too much of a coincidence.

@@MatthewPacheco no one knows yet. It could end up taking well over a year for the second season to come out, that isn't at all uncommon for HBO after all. All we know so far is that HBO has definitely renewed the show for a second season and the creative team is currently working on the project now but that's all we know at this stage, i hope this info is helpful to you.

yeah thats what i was thinking... we dont actually know too much if any at all, we have all these puzzle pieces but no clear picture, season 2 should determine if theres actually any depth to all this or they're just stacking mysteries with no explainable/asspulled answers for the fuck of it to retain viewers for the 2nd season cus i think if season 2 ends with zero questions answered or expounded upon or shallow answers and more questions added then i think theyre just yanking our chain at that point

Great video! The Adam and Eve metaphor is a really interesting theory, I think you actually may be %100 correct on that one . One small disagreement with your theory on humans being extraterrestrial in origin: Humans are not the only animals that have issues with pregnancy, as some breeds of domesticated dogs have similar. - or even worse - complications (many also have numerous genetic diseases). There is another theory that we humans essentially domesticated ourselves along with other species of animals thru the development of technology, thereby removing ourselves from evolutionary pressures that wild animals are subject to. This may account for our lack of environmental fitness compared to wild animals. Another interesting feature that humans and other domesticated animals share is that females are sexually fertile year-round, whereas wild animals have mating seasons. For anyone interested in this idea, check out the book "Rogue Primate: An Exploration of Human Domestication"

Devolution is an incorrect term. Still, it is a character describing a process through their eyes. Not everything said by a character in a show has to be correct. They are characters speaking their words.

This Show is INCREDIBLE, i started reacting to it on my channel and i'm obsessed. so underrated !!

Listening to your vid and the theory of non-de-evolution moving forward in time, but what about when the universe starts to contract and shrink? You can say that time is moving backward, just a thought.

From what we currently know, Kepler-22b would have much more gravity than Earth, about 2.5 G, so if anything, humans from Earth would have a very hard time moving around in that high gravity.

While watching Ep10 it never dawned on me that they passed through the core rather I immediately thought this was the introduction of time manipulation by the planet itself, reversing the actions taking by Mother/Father in their efforts of trying to kill the planets preferred species she just created

de-volution could be shorthand for evolving into a form that seems more primitive but better adapted to the environment. like being able to climb through holes and survive on fungus might survive better than walking upright and doing math.

Now that I think about it. Immaculate conception is somewhat similar to the bootstrap paradox. Like the technology exists. But it only exists because someone went back in time with it. But it was never actually made. Just like a baby

Campion Sr. uploads his consciousness into an AI by a process similar to the one the cryosleepers deploy on the Ark. He’s then infected with ANOTHER AI. This one has an agenda. It’s been communing with our characters since the ARK, and so it’s safe to assume it’s influence had been expressed long before. Essentially we’ve got this corrupt AI as the unknown, unidentified actor driving huge hunks of the plot. So we get to Kepler and this AI has now taken control of Campion’s uploaded consciousness and uses it to assume control of and impregnate Mother. This entity “won” season 1, prevailing in basically everything it set out to do, ie: foiled human presence in numbers on K22, fostered mistrust amongst the ones who are left, and neutralized the threat to it’s goals by overcoming Mother. It’s basically a free-floating conscious energy able to enact limited telepathic communication AND control any integrated circuit. It’s pulling all the strings and so far even the series most potent personalities doesn’t seem to have a clue.

I also really hope it isn't a "this was Earth all along/this was the past all along" reveal. That's just about as played out as the time travel trope. (Planet of the Apes & Battlestar Galactica are two prime examples.) Considering that this is only the first season, & I'm assuming they're arcing out a multi-season story, I can't imagine they'll reveal their hand this early in the story. Unless, of course, they do pull a mid-series dramatic reveal & completely change course. But again, PofA & BG have both already done that. Hopefully they'll continue to keep us guessing. As long as they don't introduce idiotic biologists who walk right up to an alien snake species they've never seen before (or people who can't run perpendicularly away from something big that's falling) I'll be happy lol.

This show gave me nightmares. Strangely enough, it was a time travel dream. I travelled back in time to the house I grew up in, or should I say to the 90s. I encountered my younger self, but realized I could not hide as an adult male with a boy. I was scared that I had no place in my own past.

Question, how can I watch the full series with all episodes, I saw the first, but want the rest, do you I have to pay a fee to a company to do this?

I think that the snake is going to have the same powers as Mother. She can change her appearance and voice to the person she is emulating. Also, she can fly.

i thought they went to the core to kill the snake(and themselves) to keep the children safe...the look on fathers face when they exited the core was that of "oh shit" as he realised it hadn't worked...they stated earlier in the show there was a tropical zone the other side of the equator which they would have come out onto...main question that gets me is people say its the same snake(species) as the bones from earlier in the show...but the jaws are completely different the bones look like a snake(or eel) while mothers baby looks like a hagfish's, great vid and an interesting theory...cant wait for season 2

Thanks Paul for another fantastic video! I do like your theory of bible comparison, but I don't think time travel will be involved, I do believe history does repeats itself. My 2 cents, as we the humans are prone to explore, fight, and the capability of love, we do to tend to fill in missing parts to fits one narrative and spread it until it becomes the truth. There are 2 major factions that are at war due to beliefs and non beliefs, and having technology eventually settling the score, until it turns on their creators becoming the dominant force. What got me thinking, what about the large snake bones that are near the camp, where did it come from, how did it die. Season 2 can't come quick enough, I am really enjoying this series!

Regarding de-evolution. The humans on Kepler simply evolved into these creatures because they had to hide most likely underground away from the serpents so the evolved into those fast four legged agile things. But i have no answer for the hoodie with the Neanderthal skull

I like this theory the best. I do think that Mother, Father and the snake (avatar of the whispering alien) go back in time and that will become a separate story line (ending in the snake being trapped in the octahedron). I think campion and others will continue their story in the present timeline, with Campion and Paul uniting the two factions and starting a new Rome. and they will see the ancient signs left over by the android and use that make their way through complicated decisions. I think towards the end Campion and Paul will go apart and new Rome would end in yet another religious war which is what happened back on Earth.

While you are right about deevolution the thing is if an earlier form of humans were better adapted to life on Keplar than they are now tehnically they'd be adapting and evolving even though it would seem like devolving

People confuse a species losing intelligence over time do to a lack of pressure to learn with devolution. If there is no pressure to learn then a species will conserve the effort, and put it to other needs in order to survive. Plenty of species thrive with low intelligence.

In Raised by Wolves season 1, episode 8, "Mass", Mother briefly discusses her origins with a medical android aboard the crashed Mithraic ship. The medical android tells Mother that she was built by the Mithraic from plans they found in their scripture. As it turns out, the Mithraic have very little understanding of what they built, how it works, and the things it can do. Because the plans to build the necromancers came from their scriptures, the Mithraic believe they are a gift from Sol. However, there's a lot of mystery surrounded who or what Sol really is. Is Sol a god or a name for the advanced alien race that engineered humanity and seeded it on planet Earth?the Prometheus Engineers perhaps?

There is a theory that something or a machine communicates telepathically, and that perhaps that was what humans thought was their god and that the scriptures came from there, to make mother, and that in the long run, they would return to the place where they are now, to give life to that being. or something like that.

One issue with the parallel between this show and "Humans are not from Earth" is that Kepler 22-b has 2.5 times the gravity of earth, not less. (A point the show seems to have overlooked.)

Ok so now I’m thinking that the snakes somehow have a power of illusion and/or “speaking in tongues” to people. The voice or what Marcus thinks is SOL, is the snake telling him to let mother live. He does this because he needs Mother as his surrogate for the new evolution of the snake creature. The snake is also what is talking to Paul coaxing him.

It's almost as if it wants to break the cycle and keep the new snake on present/future Kepler. And a thought I had that what if Saul is Father. In my previous videos i theorized that Campion Sturgess is Saul, but I still thinking about how this fits. Maybe Campion Sturgess is actually a future version of Campion on the show and we are seeing a vision of him sending humans from Kepler to Earth. That's why the voice wants young Campion to kill himself because he is trying to break the cycle. But my head hurts when I try to make it make sense

The entity manipulating them can be classified as a "GESTALT." But, in theory anyone sapient inside its gravity field (?) is also part of it, what they think is what the GESTALT also thinks at that same instance. Consider the GESTALT the "brain" and the sapient beings within its territory the "synapses." Granted, it may have existed so long it learned to think by and for itself. I always have the suspicion a "gestalt" can explain miracles made via any God we worship. Focused worship like our species are capable might create one.

My mom had a time travel theory about something else. She speculated that the atheists Marcus found were actually grown up versions of the kids ant that the atheist that Marcus left alive was Hunter. Probably unlikely but I found it cool

Good take on the finale - the time travel through core is also supported by some other details, but I need to point out some errors regarding the Neanderthal skull. You cannot produce a Neanderthal from modern humans: Neanderthals were never "our ancestors", Heidelbergensis actually was the progenitor species for sapiens. Also, there is only some of Neanderthal's DNA present in nowadays' humans, not all of it, and it's only in some populations and not all of them (there is none in african populations for instance). The information just isn't there, when it's not completely absent. So Father is necessarily mistaken when he calls the skull Neanderthal. I rather think it's the skull of an inbred human descended from survivors of the current residents of Kepler22b, but who later in the show travel back in time like Mother and Father did, and ultimately found high-tech civilisation but have to face genetic degradation from their too-small numbers. The "dvolved" human holding onto the skull was probably keeping it as a relic, just like with the Mithraic tooth.

What about tally? Was she stuck in another dimension?

You can evolve in a direction that might be perceived as de-evolution ... And to make a point then refer to it such because to say evolution would be confusing giving the circumstances .... This show is a mixture of other shows mainly the original TV show lost in space with a bit of the movie alien .... Sol never existed and is an intelligence guiding them into position to take advantage of the necromancer to create a more powerful being using the technology of black quantum or how they referred to it ...

You are the expert, you get paid to theorize. In regards to the time travel aspect, the show runner did confirm from the drawings in the cave that mother and father have repeated the process shown in the drawing of leaving Kepler 22 b with embyo's going to earth. Also noting that they must have done this thousands of years ago, how can this be? He stated. So most of what you stated makes sense except the dead necromancer skull being mothers. Mother went from Kepler to Earth, and keeps repeating the cycle. The show runner also confirmed The holes on Kepler are from large snake like creatures who were on Kepler, and died off. Noting that mothers hard drive was hacked and blueprints to create the snake were downloaded. Mothers body being similar to a 3d printer and building what was downloaded. The result is a hybrid of the original snakes with mothers necromancer abilities. So here are some fact's from the show runner for you to upgrade your theory. I think it is about time for you to do more videos about this show since season 2 should have wrapped by now, and they have some new characters, such as Grandmother, who I am predicting mother will get her eyes. Grandmother is already on Kepler in the tropical zone. Also there is a new character who arrived on the atheist ship who carries a super computer with him, I assume a early version of sol. You're wrong about one aspect of "devolution". There are some species that did evolve and then evolved again in the opposite direction. It's not always perfectly linear. Even a backwards step in evolution is still considered evolution. To call it devolving would be a misnomer.
