Hey Jeff. I live in a high humidity part of the country as well. Moisture in the air will cause "orange peel' and fisheyes. Make sure the body is at room temp or or a bit warmer, same with the paint. Let the body dry in a warmish room as well. A piece of equipment I obtained many years ago is a small food dehydrator. I got mine a a thrift store for about 8 bucks. It really helps with wet weather painting and speeds drying enormously. Since you have an airbrush, I will recommend the best chrome paint in the hobby biz. It's called "Alclad III. It must be used with over a gloss black base coat. It produces the best replication of chrome I have ever used. It works well as a base coat for candy and pearl paints. Have fun Jeff !

Thanks for the "Pro" designation Jeff. Even after more than 60 years in the model car/slot car hobby, hardly a day goes by that I that I don't learn a new technique or hear of a new product. Speaking of which, I want to thank you for making me aware of VRP. Not only does it make old plastic look new, it provides a thin layer of protection for any decals that they might have. One Warning however, always work with a CLEAN surface. If you plan to add decals, make sure that you apply the VRP AFTER the decals, They won't stick to VRP, or any other surface contamination for that matter. This hobby continues to excite and please me after all this time. It's great to know that there are people like you involved Jeff, making this hobby not only fun for your self but sharing your knowledge and experience with others😁@@JeffRyan

Hey King, thanks for the visit! The body was made by Model Motoring back in 2000. It was made to fit Aurora’s Thunder Jet chassis. Let me know if you need anything else.

If you cannot unload the JL chassis, can you at least harvest the axles and wheels and put them in the parts box? It has been years since I did a JL conversion.

Hey Gene, I really have no use for the JL pull-back chassis or the boxes they came in. If anyone wants um, I’ll send them off.
