Firebird turned out great Jeff. Blue is one of my favorite body colors.

Hey Jeff ! Great video. You are 100% correct about the Lincoln. It's a pretty good resin casting, but a casting none the less. It appears that the owner is selling it in good faith so I don't believe it's intentional deceit of any kind. It just goes to show that close inspection and some questions pay off. The Firebird looks good as new brother. See ya later. P.S. Good luck with the box, I think your going to need it.

Hey Hick, the grey color got my attention right away. I had to check it out further. Upon doing so, the discrepancies were too much to ignore. I agree 100% that the seller is selling it in good faith, I just hope the bidders have done their due diligence. Hick, always great to hear from you Sir, take care.

Jeff as soon as you showed the inside of the Lincoln you can see so many bubbles from the casting that is not nor has ever been a Aurora molded car

Try the vrp on the plastic box, take the label out first its amazing

Hey David, I did just that, I VRPed the whole box and the cap, that why it looks better than new.

The Blue firebird turned out nice. Have you ever had problems with blue Aurora cars just disintegrating? I have had 2 or 3 blue bodies just break into many pieces when trying to restore. I figure you have seen many more than I and wondering if you ran into this issue.

Hey Terry, yes often the Aurora blue bodies have been known to literally crumble. I've personally had that happen to an AFX Dotson 240z and a Thunder Jet Torino, I started threading the front screw post and it just fall to pieces. Not fun, but yes it happens.

its people like the seller that has caused this hobby to lose its alure for me they know nothing of the hobby nor the companies that were the start of what is the greatest thrill of my life when I finish a rebuild

Hey Roy, I hear you!! In my book I cover authenticating the old Thunder Jets. And you spotted the inconsistencies right away. Just do a wee bit of research...and you might be more educated on what you are bidding on, right?
