I'm fishing a small mountain stream in Pennsylvania during early spring. I catch some bigger Rainbow trout along with some smaller native brook trout. The Wild Leeks, AKA "Ramps" are up this time of year and are easy to find, so I gather some from a nearby hillside where they are growing near the stream. They have a strong onion/garlic flavor that pairs well with trout. I also tossed in some small morel mushrooms that I found as well for a great spring time meal in the Appalachian Mountains

I appreciate it!
Perfect meal. There is nothing like fresh trout cooked for supper. Only difference is that I use lemon pepper inside the cavity. Still put garlic salt and pepper on the skin side while cooking in butter. Heavenly! Thanks for the video.
This video is such a vibe. Perfect length, great scenery. Can’t wait to go camping. Been too long.
I never knew watching someone camping would make me hungry but here we are 😂😂😂
Ramps, morels and fiddleheads are the springtime holy Trinity
Just want to share my appreciation for the vids. I'm a young guy from the LA area with practically 0 experience with nature. I find your videos quite soothing and inspiring.
Relaxing day in the woods. Glad that you are able to enjoy it.
I discovered your channel recently and I've been loving it! I love being outdoors and have always wanted to learn how to learn more survival skills, and you make that very easy!

That sounds great. I love ramp potato soup, my wife makes it sometimes when I bring some ramps home. Thanks for watching 👍
This meal looked so good thanks for the great video.
Thanks for sharing. One time I hiked to Fuller Lake in Colorado to free dive and explore the mountain. After swimming in the lake for awhile, then catching some brown trout, a storm rolled over the mountain tops with lightning and thunder. So, I quickly threw my fish in a wet bag, grabbed my hiking pack and headed down the mountain as fast as possible to avoid getting hit by lightning. I remember walking for over an hour in my wetsuit and neoprene booties all the way back to camp at sub alpine level. My group decided to leave the mountain right then because it was forecasted to continue raining the rest of the week. So, long story long I never got to cook my trout. By the time we got back into Silverton I forgot about the fish and they spoiled. I was just visiting Colorado and we dont have trout in Texas so I never got around to learning the best way to cook them to avoid the bones. I'll try to remember your simple tips!
I was hoping there'd be longer videos and there are! Longer nature videos are very therapeutic!
hope you make more full camping videos sir! so entertaining been watching before sleeping at night, keep it up sir!

Great video thank you! Back to nature. 😊👍
That is a meal fit for a king!! You have just described alot of my childhood. Growing up my dad and I would trout fish and dig ramps in the Southern Appalachians of WNC and would enjoy the same meal with the exception of being coated in flour, salt and pepper. We would use our fly rods but use a normal hook and niblet corn for bait!! We also would fish upstream so the trout couldn't see us, by throwing our line upstream and letting it drift down to them. Trout are very wary and have excellent vision. Thx for the memories!!
Jolly good day 😊
Awesome catch
Beautiful stream nice trout and great tip on the ramps.
Man, I wanna go out fishing so much qfter watching this.

Your amazing the intel you have on outdoor survival is priceless I'm a Londoner and love you videos
I’m down here in NC and my mouth is just watering looking at all that PA goodness. I can smell it cooking from here. This video reminds me of a fishing trip I took in PA once. Someone fell in the woods hiking behind me and it sounded like cans getting crushed - it was bizarre - but anyway, I caught rainbow trout that trip. Good times in the PA wilds.
Man super awesome, wanna join 🤘🏼
Rainbow trout.😋 Amazing video👏 camera work is so immersive considering your filming alone. 🫡🤩
Impressive fish for a stream that size 😊

I really enjoy your videos and genuinely appreciate you not putting music them and I hope you don't because the videos are just way better without them as you have the sound of actual nature in the background and nothings seems fake like some people like to post🤍.
Yes I love the whole idea of this trout, morels, ramps!!! Do a good job please

Hey there! This is just the best! We invite you to come take a look at our wilderness island adventure! Trouts galore my friend 🎣
Maybe it's just me but whenever I watch your videos, Ben Cusick @ NightHawkInLight comes to mind 😅 say, have you considered cultivating ramps instead of foraging for 'em? 🤔
Have you ever went snare fishing?
This is awesome. Did you learn foraging yourself, or your parents?
@WoodsboundOutdoors
15 сағат бұрын
A lot of it yes, from my parents and grandparents. Then I learned some new edible plants and mushrooms on my own over the years
Do those trout breed and live there, or are they stocked?
@WoodsboundOutdoors

The rainbows are stocked, but the native/wild brook trout live and reproduce there

Yeahh there are a ton of accounts that post my videos. I don't mind if they post and give credits to me, the problem is all of the fake accounts that pretend to be me and post my videos as their own. The platforms don't do much about it unfortunately

Not sure if you’re on 🐦, now known by a different name but everyone deadnames it so everyone is clear. 🤣. There are two meme accounts and not sure if you’re on that platform but they mostly post pics, not vids but almost free advertisement because it links to your vids. Hope that helps. Sorry about the fake/mimic accounts here too.
