RAHUL MISHRA (All You Need to Know about the First Indian Designer at Paris Couture Week)

This video is kind of a gift to myself - for quite some time, I have wanted to do a video about one of my favourite Indian designers. And the Couture shows which just took place in Paris, reminded me about this. Rahul Mishra is an Indian fashion designer based in Delhi and Mumbai. While he had already been very well known in his home country, he made international fashion headlines especially after being the first Indian designer ever to showcase his designs at the Paris Haute Couture Week in 2020 - a privilege to present alongside established houses such as Chanel and Dior. Rahul Mishra is also a favourite amongst celebrities: In 2023 during the opening of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in Zendaya wore an outfit from his Cosmos collection. Mishra’s design philosophy revolves around working with Indian artisans who make traditional weaves and fabrics such as Banarasi silk, chikankari and Kerala’s cotton handloom cloth and, needless to say, he made a name for his extremely intricate embroideries. You have probably noticed his opulent couture designs with embroidery which he always links to nature, art and science.

I watched the video of his haute couture 2024/25 collection before watching this video so I had some knowledge of his style of designing. I instantly thought of Schiaparelli and also Fornasetti, I know that's not fashion but the imagery... I am really lost for words now, I just have one word to say WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ So amazingly beautiful the details moved me to tears 😢 Thank you for this Liz 🥰

Oh yes, you are right, Fornasetti, I can see that! I think he is one of the few who really understands how to bridge fashion and art
