Actually, in raft, you only take fall damage on your raft if you jump. If you just fall, you don't.

My mates made this game, and I'm always filled with glee when I see it discussed online by people I enjoy watching. (True for any game made by people I like, but this was such a huge success for a less than a handful of students.)

The shark isn't the problem. Once you armor your raft, it's easy to hunt the shark for food. It's the bears and terror birds you gotta worry about 🤣

I had put it in his exploit section on his discord that he could use nets for the second exploit much easier. They have a max stack of 5 and crafting 1 is easy, meaning you can pull off the exponential growth portion of the exploit within like 3 minutes of gameplay. Tho Idk if he ever saw my recommendation. I would presume not since he didn't use the nets for the exponential growth exploit.

@@MohamedSci exactly. Since the nets have a max stack of 5, but items like leaves, wood, and plastic are all 20, you can break the max stack of 5 of the nets almost immediately during gameplay. This allows what spiff demonstrated to be done even faster into the game. And after breaking the max stack, you just need to shift click the items into a chest and you'll have the exponential growth exploit.

I’ve never played 99% of the games you feature, yet find these videos so fascinating.

I mean, when you think about it, all Jesus did outside of the whole “love your neighbor” thing was exploit reality. Walking on water, duplicating items, respawning dead characters, all massive exploits in the Almighty’s plans.

Fried_Infant The disk no longer functions, and it was my fathers, not mine.

I've got to say, the game engine being able to handle that level of abuse without convulsing and dying is kinda impressive.

Kudos to this game for having a clever lighting engine that doesnt just additively spazz out the brightness the more torches you add.

To be fair, once you reach terminal velocity it makes sense that the damage caps out. You'd just expect that cap to be beyond survivable range. That being said, when you think about it some people have survived falls from great height - albeit with severe injuries. So it actually makes some measure of sense that it isn't lethal.

I saw a story years ago (which was probably fake, but I never investigated further) about a plane which suffered an explosive decompression at cruising altitude. The only survivor was one of the cabin crew who was sucked out of the fuselage as it started to break apart and they walked away from a fall of over thirty thousand feet with only cuts and bruises as they landed in a forest and the trees somehow slowed them enough that they didn't hit a hard surface (like the ground or a tree branch) with enough force to cause serious injury.

I suspect turning on Sea/Motion sickness mode would help with the climb considering it stops the raft from rocking for the sensitive people...

To duplicate now you have to dump items into storage, save, take the items out of storage then quit with save, then reload the previous backup save. You end up with both the items in inventory AND in the storage.

Nope, you don't have to quit the game save. Just quit save to main menu

These videos have inspired me to make more game purchases than any trailer or review ever has. Nothing tells you how fun a game is quite like pushing the boundaries of what the game can (or should) do.

i love the fact that this is so simple and anyone can do it with no real consequence because its not really a competitive game

Just catching up on my Spiffing Brit watching, while having a nice cup of tea, and pleasantly surprised to see a cameo in this one by another Yogs member. That is always a treat.

If I’m being honest I’d love to see what you could build and do with those two exploits and all of the tech unlocked. Imagine a multistory raft reaching as high as that tower. Each level is massive and sustainable. Multiple farms, engines, sails, smelters, storage, you could build a floating city with infinite resource if you wanted. Then charge people with toll booths to go from level to level.

Funny we had the same idea. I didnt know how to duplicate but my first objective in this game has been to make a massive ramp. I found out that making the diagonal ramps is much easier that a straight up monolith, and it's also easier to climb. The final thing was the first thing that gave me vertigo in a video game. Amazing.
