Radiator cover build with arches and slats
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Here we have a little side project I did for a repeat customer. These are a set of 3 radiator covers. All slightly different sizes but in essence the same over all design pattern. Each has an arch to the top and the bottom to aid air flow and give some visual appeal with the front having an open slatted design.
Made from 18mm and 9mm MDF and just taken to raw state by me to then go to a very lucky painter who had a surface ready to prime.
Very pleased with this as was the customer. Think this is the third set of rad covers I have done with this design and they really do stand out compared to standard off the shelf units and really they are not a complicated build. The table saw can be replaced by a circular saw and the router work can be done by jigsaw.
Hope you enjoy.

Do you wear the mask throughout the process? Must get a bit toasty in there

Have to be double careful with mdf the glue they use to make the mdf is particularly bad for the lungs so no such thing as being too careful which is one reason I like to work more with hardwoods but even they can irritate if your not careful. There is a good reason I upgraded to a jcdc 2 cyclone extractor to get more of the dust each time works great on the machines with extraction need to at some point upgrade those without but it’s a expensive upgrade as I like quality tools and they break the budget right now
