~TL Notes~ 7:19 - She misspoke and said the full word "tokoro" instead of the abbreviated "toko" she uses in the actual hashtag. The hashtag itself means like, "That's just like you JFT Raden" or "Why are you like this, JFT Raden" 10:20 - My Japanese history is a bit rusty, but I believe there were three major time periods where Japan sent envoys to China. The purpose was to bring back the teachings of Buddhism, their writing system, cool stuff like that. (That's part of why some Kanji have different onyomi, they were brought back from China in completely different eras and language changes while orthography doesn't. Not as fast, anyway) Anyway, this era that the Kentoushi are in(there are also Kenzuishi and Kenminshi for the other eras) is interesting because this was the group that Kuukai was part of. His story is really interesting along with his relationship with fellow Kentoushi Saichou. I recommend reading about them if you ever get a chance and are interested in Japanese history. 13:54 - This is a reference to the historical novel/movie Tenchi Meisatsu. It's about a scholar and go player who's family was tasked with teaching the shogun how to play go. He was assigned by the shogunate to create a more accurate calendar. The phrase "Tenchi Meisatsu" basically just means that the movement of the astrological bodies is going as calculated (Which is good when you're trying to make a calendar based on it). We could substitute in "Eureka!" or something like that, but since it's a direct movie reference, I figured I'd just keep it as is. (It's also good to remember this because I've heard her say it quite a bit in her streams)

So this is the clip I'mma show someone when they ask me why I like Juufuutei Raden She's kinda got everything going on all at once, but she's holding it all together through sheer willpower and charisma.

Thanks for the consistently high quality TL's. I love Raden but I struggle to keep up with her zatsudan streams due to her talking speed and relatively niche (at least for an N3) topics/vocab. All your longer translations have been great in that regard. This was informative and entertaining as always, and led me into looking up the kentoushi on your advice. Interesting stuff! Ty again

Thanks! Happy to help! Yeah, she talks so fast that figuring out how to squeeze the info into the subtitles is a puzzle sometimes lol. And that's awesome to hear, Kuukai is awesome!

Loled when she said very very very magnificent Pekora senpai and then just Shion and Nene like they were an afterthought. 😅 Raden's bias was showing. 😂

Credit Cards (I mean specifically credit ones, not debit) are a money trap, which is very hard to escape from.
